2Heavy metal accumulation by panicled goldenrain tree(Koelreuteria paniculata) and common elaeocarpus(Elaeocarpus decipens) in abandoned mine soils in southern China显示文摘Phytoremediation can be used as a sustainable technology for mine spoil remediation to remove heavy metals.This study investigated the concentration of 7 heavy metal contamination in soil and plant samples at an abandoned mine site.We found that,after vegetation remediation at the abandoned mine site,the reduction rates for 7 heavy metals were in the range of 4.2%-86%,where reduction rates over 50% were achieved for four heavy metals(Zn,Mn,Cd,Ni).Transfer coeffcients of the panicled goldenrain tree(Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm) and the common elaeocarpus(Elaeocarpus decipens) for Zn,Mn,Ni,and Co were more than 1.Enrichment coeffcients of both trees for Mn were higher than 1.Our results suggest that the panicled goldenrain tree and the common elaeocarpus tree may act as accumulators in remediation.Moreover,the woody vegetation remediation in abandoned mining areas play an important role in improving scenery besides removing heavy metal from contaminated soil.TIAN Dalun ZHU Fan YAN Wende Fang Xi XIANG Wenhua DENG Xiangwen WANG Guangjun PENG Changhui 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:11

4Human amnion tissue injected with human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells repairs damaged sciatic nerves in rats显示文摘Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells,incorporated into an amnion carrier tubes,were assessed for nerve regeneration potential in a rat nerve defect model.Damaged nerves were exposed to human amnion carriers containing either human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (cell transplantation group)or saline(control group).At 8,12,16 and 20 weeks after cell implantation,the sciatic functional index was higher in the cell transplantation group compared with the control group.Furthermore,electrophysiological examination showed that threshold stimulus and maximum stimulus intensity gradually decreased while compound action potential amplitude gradually increased.Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that regenerating nerve fibers were arranged in nerve tracts in the cell transplantation group and connective tissue between nerve tracts and amnion tissue reduced over time.Gastrocnemius muscle cell diameter,wet weight and restoration ratio were increased.These data indicate that transplanted human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells,using the amnion tube connection method,promote restoration of damaged sciatic nerves in rats.Dehua Li Changhui Wang Wei Shan Ruixia Zeng Yan Fang Pan Wang 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,23:4
5准噶尔盆地基底构造显示文摘我们已完成了穿越准噶尔盆地及其周边地区的I-I、II-II、III-III、IV-IV和额敏—哈密剖面5条综合地球物理剖面。通过综合研究,初步了解准噶尔盆地及邻近地区的地球动力学问题:准噶尔盆地基底由北部的乌伦古地体和南部的玛纳斯地体组成。两者的分界为西西北方向的滴水泉—三个泉缝合线。其西部与北东向Dalbutte缝合带相连,东部与北西向的Cranamary缝合带相连。准噶尔盆地北部的乌伦古地体基底为双层构造,上层为泥盆系和下石炭统组成的褶皱基底,大致表现为北厚(3~5 km)、南薄(1~2 km)。缝合线以南的玛纳斯地体为单层基底,即新元古代结晶基底。准噶尔盆地地壳厚度为44~52 km,北薄南厚。周边山区地壳厚度高于盆地地区。盆地及邻近地区地壳分为上、中、下层,并且中地壳一般较薄。盆地地区的地壳存在多条深断裂。南北方向发育了6条主要深断裂,分别为红车、德伦山、石溪、呼图壁、彩南和阜康。这些断层倾角较大,向上延伸至上地壳下部,向下切入地壳基底界面。壳内水平构造和构造面无明显垂向断层,似有“开放断层”特征。这些断层是上地幔物质挤入地壳的良好通道。此外,该地区还有两条主要的横向深断层。一是北西西走向的滴水泉—三个泉深断裂,它向南倾斜,具有逆断层性质,可能会破坏滴水泉—三个泉缝合带。另一条是近东西向的昌吉—玛纳斯深断裂,向南倾斜,主要发育在中下地壳,具有逆断层性质。这些深断裂对盆地构造发育具有一定的控制作用。准噶尔盆地西部的莫霍面基本连续地延伸到了天山的莫霍面,并且后者的莫霍面深度明显大于前者。但是,盆地东部的莫霍面与博格达山脉的莫霍面并不连续。前者以叠加关系延伸到后者之下,表明盆地东部的地壳向博格达山脉俯冲。这有助于解释天山东部构造活动相对减弱而博格达山脉向北推高的构造地貌现象。周边准噶尔盆地具有挤压盆地山地构造耦合格局,尤其是南部边界东部博格达—准东盆地的山地盆地构造耦合。现在将准噶尔盆地与吐哈盆地分开的博格达山脉是年轻的、仍在上升的山脉。博格达山的隆升是印支运动以来多次推覆造山运动的反映,其现貌是新近纪以来新构造运动的结果。准噶尔盆地盖层发育经历了3个阶段:与天山和松潘—甘孜造山带形成有关的二叠纪—三叠纪前陆盆地阶段,区域压缩较弱的侏罗纪—早始新世陆内坳陷阶段,以及新近纪晚期以来与天山抬升有关的活化前陆盆地阶段。Xiaojun WANG Yong SONG Baoli BIAN Junmeng ZHAO Heng ZHANG Maodu YAN Shunping PEI Qiang XU Shuaijun WANG Hongbing LIU Changhui JU 2021地学前缘2021,28,6:2
6Soil respiration dynamics in Cinnamomum camphora forest and a nearby Liquidambar formosana forest in Subtropical China显示文摘Climate change can significantly affect carbon cycling of forest ecosystems.The diurnal and seasonal dynamics of soil respiration (Rs) in Cinnamomum camphora and Liquidambar formosana forests were investigated by using infrared gas exchange analyzer of Li-Cor 6400-09 each month in 2006.Soil temperature and moisture were also measured.Diurnal variations in Rs varied with daily soil temperature in the two forests.Across the growing season,soil respiration peaked on July 28 due to higher soil temperature and moisture conditions.Seasonal Rs variations were predominantly influenced by soil temperature.Seasonal soil respirations in C.camphora and L.formosana forests were strongly related to soil temperature (x) at 5-cm depth (Rs=0.1598e 0.1377x (R 2=0.9289,P=0.001) and Rs=0.2177e 0.0962x (R 2=0.927,P=0.000)),while annual mean Rs rate was 2.614 and 1.397 μmol m-2 s-1 and Q 10 values were 3.96 and 2.62 for the two forests,respectively.However,Rs was not influenced by seasonal changes in soil moisture (w) in the two forests in 2006.We developed two equations (Rs=-0.020w 2 +0.497w+0.562 (R 2=0.109,P>0.05),Rs=-0.001w 2 +0.072w +0.731(R 2=0.053,P>0.05)) to describe the relationship between Rs and soil moisture.A positive relationship between Rs and soil moisture were observed when soil moisture was below 12.43% and 18.00%,but when soil moisture exceeded threshold values of 12.43% and 18.00%,soil moisture became the restraint factor for Rs.Long-term observations of soil respiration and moisture are required to understand the temporal dynamics of soil respiration.TIAN DaLun WANG GuangJun YAN WenDe XIANG WenHua PENG ChangHui 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,8:2
7Apoptosis in suspension culture of tobacco cells induced by heat shock显示文摘The induction of apoptosis in suspension culture of tobacco cells by heat shock is reported for the first time. Heat treatment (48℃ for 4 h) of tobacco cells led to the appearance of typical hallmarks of apoptosis. It was demonstrated by DNA laddering analysis that the cells treated with heat shock at 48℃ for 4 h had a serious degradation of nuclear DNA into multi-nu-cleosomal sizes, suggesting that heat shock activated endogenous nuclease which led to DNA cleavage at the linkage sites between the nucleosomes, but ladders were very faint for DNA from 2 and 9 h heat-treated cells. The terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated dUTP nick end labelling (TUNEL) detection also showed that most of these treated cells (48℃ for 4 h) displayed positive reactions, indicating a serious DNA 3’-OH cleavage in their nuclei. 10Ground-layer adaptive optics for the New Vacuum Solar Telescope:Instrument description and first results显示文摘Ground-layer adaptive optics(GLAO)has shown its potential for use in solar observation owing to its wide field-of-view(FOV)correction.A high-order GLAO system that consists of a multiple direction Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor(WFS),a realtime controller with a multi-CPU processor,and a 151-element deformable mirror was developed for the 1-m New Vacuum Solar Telescope at Yunnan Observatories,Chinese Academy of Sciences.A hexagonal microlens with 9×8 subapertures is employed in the WFS.The detection FOV is 42′′×37′′,in which 9(3×3)guide regions are extracted for multiple direction wavefront sensing with a frame rate of up to 2200 Hz.To our knowledge,this is the first professional solar GLAO system used as a regularly operating instrument for scientific observations.Its installation and adjustment were performed in the summer of 2021.In this article,a detailed account of the GLAO system and its first light results and a comprehensive analysis of the performance of the GLAO system are provided.The results show that this system can effectively improve the imaging quality after compensating for the wavefront aberration due to ground-layer turbulence.Lanqiang Zhang Hua Bao Xuejun Rao Youming Guo Libo Zhong Xian Ran Nanfei Yan Jinsheng Yang Cheng Wang Jiahui Zhou Ying Yang Yunyao Long Xinlong Fan Zhongyi Feng Donghong Chen Changhui Rao 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,6:1

20Soil microbial respiration is regulated by stoichiometric imbalances: Evidence from a humidity gradient case显示文摘Humidity not only affects soil microbial respiration(SMR) directly, but, indirectly by regulating the availability of soil water and nutrients. However,the patterns of direct and indirect effects of humidity on SMR over large precipitation gradients remain unclear, limiting our understanding of the effects of precipitation changes on soil C cycle. Here, we investigated the relationships among humidity, soil nutrients, and SMR by identifying stoichiometric imbalances, microbial elemental homeostasis, and microbial C use efficiency along a precipitation gradient at a continental scale. The relationship between SMR and humidity index(HI) corresponded to a Richard’s curve with an inflection point threshold value of approximately 0.7. Soil microbial respiration increased with increasing humidity in drier areas(HI < 0.7), but tended to balance above this threshold. Increasing humidity exacerbated C:P and N:P imbalances across the selected gradient. Severe N and P limitations in soil microbial communities were observed in drier areas, while soil microbes suffered from aggravated P limitation as the humidity increased in wetter areas(HI > 0.7). Soil microbial communities regulated their enzyme production to maintain a strong stoichiometric homeostasis in drier areas;enzyme production, microbial biomass, and threshold elemental ratios were non-homeostatic under P limitation in wetter areas, which further contributed to the increase in SMR. Our results identified a moisture constraint on SMR in drier areas and highlighted the importance of nutrient(especially for P) limitations induced by humidity in regulating SMR in wetter areas.
