1Neural-fuzzy control system application for monitoring process response and control of anaerobic hybrid reactor in wastewater treatment and biogas production显示文摘Based on the developed neural-fuzzy control system for anaerobic hybrid reactor (AHR) in wastewater treatment and biogas production,the neural network with backpropagation algorithm for prediction of the variables pH,alkalinity (Alk) and total volatile acids (TVA) at present day time t was used as input data for the fuzzy logic to calculate the influent feed flow rate that was applied to control and monitor the process response at different operations in the initial,overload influent feeding and the recovery phases.In all three phases,this neural-fuzzy control system showed great potential to control AHR in high stability and performance and quick response.Although in the overloading operation phase II with two fold calculating influent flow rate together with a two fold organic loading rate (OLR),this control system had rapid response and was sensitive to the intended overload.When the influent feeding rate was followed by the calculation of control system in the initial operation phase I and the recovery operation phase III,it was found that the neural-fuzzy control system application was capable of controlling the AHR in a good manner with the pH close to 7,TVA/Alk < 0.4 and COD removal > 80% with biogas and methane yields at 0.45 and 0.30 m3 /kg COD removed.Chaiwat Waewsak Annop Nopharatana Pawinee Chaiprasert 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:8
2One step NaBH_4 reduction of Pt-Ru-Ni catalysts on different types of carbon supports for direct ethanol fuel cells : Synthe sis and characte rization显示文摘The ternary catalyst Pt75Ru5Ni20 was conducted on various types of carbon supports including functionalized Vulcan XC-72R(f-CB),functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes(f-MWCNT),and mesoporous carbon(PC-Zn-succinic)by sodium borohydride chemical reduction method to improve the ethanol electrooxidation reaction(EOR)for direct ethanol fuel cell(DEFC).It was found that the particle size of the metals on f-MWCNT was 5.20 nm with good particle dispersion.The alloy formation of ternary catalyst was confirmed by XRD and more clearly described by SEM element mapping,which was relevant to the efficiency of the catalysts.Moreover,the mechanism of ethanol electrooxidation reaction based on the surface reaction was more understanding.The activity and stability for ethanol electrooxidation reaction(EOR)were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry,respectively.The highest activity and stability for EOR were observed from Pt75Ru5Ni20/f-MWCNT due to a good metal-carbon interaction.Ru and Ni presented in Pt-Ru-Ni alloy improved the activity and stability of ternary catalysts for EOR.Moreover,the reduction of Pt content in ternary catalyst led to the catalyst cost deduction in DEFC.Napha Sudachom Chompunuch Warakulwit Chaiwat Prapainainar Thongthai Witoon Paweena Prapainainar 2017燃料化学学报2017,45,5:4

10Prediction of massive transfusion in trauma patients in the surgical intensive care units (THAI-SICU study)显示文摘Purpose: After damage control surgery, trauma patients are transferred to intensive care units to restore the physiology. During this period, massive transfusion might be required for ongoing bleeding and coagulopathy. This research aimed to identify predictors of massive blood transfusion in the surgical intensive care units (SICUs). Methods: This is an analysis of the THAI-SICU study which was a prospective cohort that was done in the 9-university-based SICUs in Thailand. The study included only patients admitted due to trauma mechanisms. Massive transfusion was defined as received >10 units of packed red blood cells on the first day of admission. Patient characteristics and physiologic data were analyzed to identify the potential factors. A multivariable regression was then performed to identify the significant model. Results: Three hundred and seventy patients were enrolled. Sixteen patients (5%) received massive transfusion in the SICUs. The factors that significantly predicted massive transfusion were an initial sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA)>9 (risk difference (RD) 0.13, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.03—0.22, p = 0.01);intra-operative blood loss > 4900 mL (RD 0.33, 95% CI: 0.04—0.62, p = 0.02) and intra-operative blood transfusion > 10 units (RD 0.45, 95% Cl: 0.06 to 0.84, p = 0.02). The probability to have massive transfusion was 0.976 in patients who had these 3 factors. Conclusion: Massive blood transfusion in the SICUs occurred in 5%. 20Antioxidant Activities and Characterization of Polyphenols from Selected Northern Thai Rice Husks: Relation with Seed Attributes显示文摘Rice production generates a significant amount of agricultural waste. This study aimed to give results related to the existence of antioxidant phenols in agricultural waste of selected Northern Thai rice varieties. The antioxidant activities, contents of total flavonoids and phenolic compounds in the ethanolic rice husk extract were evaluated. The highest antioxidant activities were found in the variety PES1CMU, with 2,2’-azinobis-3-ethyl-benzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl as 679.66 and 4.16 mmol/(L·g) trolox equivalent, respectively, ferric reducing antioxidant power as 0.87 mmol/(L·g) Fe2+, total phenolic content as 29.90 mmol/(L·g) gallic acid and total flavonoid content as 12.16 mg/g catechin equivalent. Polyphenol compounds were identified mainly by standard polyphenols using the liquid chromatography mass spectrometry, with the highest contents of phytic acid, o-coumaric acid, naringin and kaempferol. The non-glutenous and wetland ecotypes of rice husk samples were the richest in antioxidant activities and polyphenol contents characterized by using principal component analysis. The glutenous rice husk contained higher antioxidant activities than the rest. Interestingly, quercetin is a significant phenolic compound that positively correlated with the overall antioxidant activities of rice husk.
