| 1 | Intermittent energy restriction in type 2 diabetes: A short discussion of medication management显示文摘AIM To discuss type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) medication changes required during the popular 5:2 intermittent energy restriction(IER) diet. METHODS A search was conducted in MEDLINE, EMBASE, AMED, CINAHL and Cochrane library for original research articles investigating the use of very low calorie diets(VLCD) in people with T2 DM. The search terms used included 'VLCD' or 'very low energy diet' or 'very low energy restriction' or 'IER' or 'intermittent fasting' or 'calorie restriction' or 'diabetes mellitus type 2' and 'type 2 diabetes'. Reference lists of selected articles were also screened for relevant publications. Only research articles written in English, which also included an explanation of medication changes were included. A recent pilot trial using the 5:2 IER method, conducted by our research group, will also be summarized.RESULTS A total of 8 studies were found that investigated the use of VLCD in T2 DM and discussed medication management. Overall these studies indicate that the use of a VLCD for people with T2 DM usually require the cessation of medication to prevent hypoglycemia. Therefore, the 5:2 IER method will also require medication changes, but as seen in our pilot trial, may not require total cessation of medication, rather a cessation on the 2 IER days only. CONCLUSION Guidelines outlined here can be used in the initial stages of a 2-d IER diet, but extensive blood glucose monitoring is still required to make the necessary individual reductions to medications in response to weight loss. | Sharayah Carter Peter M Clifton Jennifer B Keogh | 2016 | World Journal of Diabetes2016，7，20： | 6 |

| 3 | On-line non-intrusive particle size measurement of pulverised fuel through digital imaging显示文摘This paper presents the basic principles of particle size measurement and latest industrial results recorded using an innovative optical instrumentation system designed to measure the size distribution of particles in a pneumatic suspension.The system is non-intrusive and cost-effective.A low-cost CCD camera is used to capture images of the particulate flow field,which is illuminated by a low-cost pulsed laser sheet generator.The particle size distribution is then determined by processing the particle images through the use of novel processing algorithms.Experimental results obtained in the past on a small scale particle flow test rig have demonstrated that the system is capable of measuring the size distribution of pneumatically conveyed particles with an accuracy of a few percent.For the present paper results obtained when testing the system at a 4 MW industrial test facility are presented.Comparisons are made with both off-line reference data achieved through sieving and on-line laser diffraction data recorded using an intrusive,extractive,Malvern Instruments system.In general there is good agreement between results when considering the characteristics and limitations of the individual methodologies.The novel imaging system shows itself to be rugged,practical and useful under genuine industrial conditions. | Carter Robert M | 2007 | 仪器仪表学报2007，28，11： | 3 |
| 4 | Safety and efficacy of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir on hepatitis C eradication in hepatitis C virus/human immunodeficiency virus co-infected patients显示文摘AIM To evaluate the safety and efficacy of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir on hepatitis C eradication in patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV)/human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) co-infection in an urban HIV clinic.METHODS A retrospective cohort study of 40 subjects co-infected with HIV-1 and HCV treated with the fixed-dose combination of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir for 12 wk from 2014 to 2016.All patients included were receiving antiretroviral therapy(ART) with HIV RNA values of 100 copies/m L or fewer regardless of baseline HCV RNA level.The primary end point was a sustained virologic response of HCV at 12 wk(SVR12) after the end of therapy.RESULTS Of the 40 patients enrolled,55% were black,22.5% had been previously treated for HCV,and 25% hadcirrhosis.The patients were on a wide range of ART.Overall,39 patients(97.5%) had a SVR 12 after the end of therapy,including rates of 97.1% in patients with HCV genotype 1 a and 100% in those with HCV genotype 1 b.One patient with HCV genotype 3 a was included and achieved SVR12.Rates of SVR12 were similar regardless of previous treatment or the presence of compensated cirrhosis.Only 1 patient experienced relapse at week 12 following treatment and deep sequencing didn't reveal any resistance associated mutation in the NS5A or NS5B region.Interestingly,7(17.5%) patients who were adherent to ART experienced HIV viral breakthrough which resolved after continuing the same ART regimen.Two(5%) patients experienced HIV-1 virologic rebound due to noncompliance with HIV therapy,which resolved after resuming the same ART regimen.No severe adverse events were observed and no patient discontinued treatment because of adverse events.The most common adverse events included headache(12.5%),fatigue(10%),and diarrhea(2.5%).CONCLUSION This retrospective study demonstrated the high rates of SVR12 of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir on HCV eradication in patients co-infected with HCV and HIV,regardless of HCV baseline levels,HCV treatment history or cirrhosis condition.The oral combination of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir represents a safe and well tolerated HCV treatment option that does not require modification for many of the common HIV ART.Occasional HIV virologic rebound occurred but later resolved without the need to change ART. | Xiaoping He Lynne Hopkins George Everett Willie M Carter Cynthia SchroppDyce Khalid Abusaada Vincent Hsu | 2017 | World Journal of Hepatology2017，9，30： | 2 |
