1Mesoproterozoic age for Xiamaling Formation in North China Plate indicated by zircon SHRIMP dating显示文摘Zircon grains of magmatic origin from tuffite layers in the Xiamaling Formation at Zhaojiashan Village, Xuanhua area, Hebei Province, were used for zircon dating with a Sensitive High-Resolution Ion Microprobe (SHRIMP II), which gives a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1366±9 Ma. It shows a very similar age (1368±12 Ma) as the zircon dating from the Xiamaling Formation in Western Hill, Beijing. This age proposes that the Xiamaling Formation in the North China plate should be of Mesoproterozoic, instead of Neoproterozoic based on K-Ar, Ar-Ar dating. 3An updated estimation of the risk of transmission of the novel coronavirus(2019-nCov)显示文摘The basic reproduction number of an infectious agent is the average number of infections one case can generate over the course of the infectious period,in a naïve,uninfected population.It is well-known that the estimation of this number may vary due to several methodological issues,including different assumptions and choice of parameters,utilized models,used datasets and estimation period.With the spreading of the novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)infection,the reproduction number has been found to vary,reflecting the dynamics of transmission of the coronavirus outbreak as well as the case reporting rate.Due to significant variations in the control strategies,which have been changing over time,and thanks to the introduction of detection technologies that have been rapidly improved,enabling to shorten the time from infection/symptoms onset to diagnosis,leading to faster confirmation of the new coronavirus cases,our previous estimations on the transmission risk of the 2019-nCoV need to be revised.By using time-dependent contact and diagnose rates,we refit our previously proposed dynamics transmission model to the data available until January 29th,2020 and re-estimated the effective daily reproduction ratio that better quantifies the evolution of the interventions.We estimated when the effective daily reproduction ratio has fallen below 1 and when the epidemics will peak.Our updated findings suggest that the best measure is persistent and strict self-isolation.The epidemics will continue to grow,and can peak soon with the peak time depending highly on the public health interventions practically implemented.Biao Tang Nicola Luigi Bragazzi Qian Li Sanyi Tang Yanni Xiao Jianhong Wu 2020Infectious Disease Modelling2020,5,1:54
4Spatial Distribution of Heavy Metals in Agricultural Soils of an Industry-Based Peri-Urban Area in Wuxi, China显示文摘In industry-oriented peri-urban areas, the heavy metal accumulation in soils caused by industrialization has become a potential threat. The top soil samples from 27 paddy fields and 75 vegetable fields were collected from a typical industry-based peri-urban area of about 8 km2 in Wuxi, China, to study the accumulation and distribution of As, Hg, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, and Cd in comparison with heavy metal contents in soils near developed industrial sites (Guangzhou, China; Wallsend Burn of Tyneside, UK; and Osnabriick, Germany). Kriging interpolation was used to determine the metals' spatial distribution. The results showed that most soils, compared to the background values, contained elevated contents of As, Hg, Cu, Zn, and Pb with some having elevated contents of Cd and Cr. Except for less than 10% of the soil samples of Cu, Zn and Cd contents, these heavy metal contents were lower than the soil threshold levels of the Grade II criteria for the Chinese environmental quality standard. Probably, because of the scattered distribution and diversity of industries in the study area, spatial distributions of these heavy metals from Kriging interpolation indicated little similarity. Nevertheless, when compared with other areas in the Taihu Lake region, mean contents of Cu, Zn, Pb, and Cd were relatively high in the Wuxi peri-urban area. 5Petrogenesis and dating of the Kangding complex,Sichuan Province显示文摘An analysis of major and trace element geochemistry and SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating of mafic, intermediate, and felsic rocks from the Mianning metamorphic complex of Si- chuan Province was conducted. One of our conclusions is that a majority of the zircons crystal- lized between 721 and 773 Ma in a magmatic regime. The complexes contain early to late Pa- leo-proterozoic relict zircons from ancient continental crust. The oldest age, 2468 Ma, may rep- resent the basement of the Yangtze block. Overgrowth zircon rims and palingenetic zircons have been observed and dated, and are believed to have formed after crystallization, during Paleozoic and Mesozoic metamorphic-anatexis. 6Seismic Sequence in Carbonate Rocks By Vibrational Liquefaction显示文摘On the basis of the records of strong seismic events taking place in soft carbonate sediments, a new seismic sequence system of vibrational liquefaction is established, which consists of a series of units, such as escaped structure of micrite veins and liquefied deformation formed in the period of seismic liquefaction, land subsidence structure after liquefaction, tsunamic hummocky and turbidite produced by seismic events, This sequence is a generalization and summation of field observation in vast areas, which shows the whole process of a strong seismic event and provides an unified theoretical explanation. The pattern of the seismic sequence by vibrational liquefaction provides one of correlation standards for geologists in the field to discriminate events in carbonate sequences. 7Zircon U-Pb dating for the earliest Neoproterozoic mafic magmatism in the southern margin of the North China Block显示文摘Huge diabase occurs within the Pro- terozoic strata in the southern margin of the North China Block, geographically in the northern parts of Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, where no strata younger than Neoproterozoic have been found. Zir- cons from the diabase show three different structures from cathodoluminesecence imaging, but they are all of magmatic origin. SHRIMP U-Pb dating yields a range of 206Pb/238U ages from 2600 to 124 Ma, but two geological events can clearly be identified from both concordant and discordant ages. One gives two weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb ages of 976 ± 24 and 1038 ± 26 Ma which are interpreted as timing of dia- base crystallization, and the other has a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2523 ± 52 Ma that repre- sents formation time of inherited zircon from the old crust. The dating results indicate that the mafic magmatic event occurred in a transition period from the latest Mesoproterozoic to the earliest Neopro- terozoic, consistent with global subduction of Grenvill ocean crust to result in the assembly of superconti- nent Rodinia. 8Reclassification of the Meso- and Neoproterozoic Chronostratigraphy of North China by SHRIMP Zircon Ages显示文摘High-quality zircon U-Pb ages acquired from Meso- and Neoproterozoic strata in North China in recent years has provided a high-resolution chronostratigraphic framework for dating. A basis of this high-level chronostratigraphic system provides the foundation for a global Precambrian study and stratigraphic correlation and so recent geological studies have focused attention on systemic SHRIMP zircon dating. A chronology of Meso- and Neoproterozoic strata and the time of origin of the overlying Changcheng System is given on the basis of new SHRIMP zircon dating from the Qianxi Complex and diabase of the Chuanlinggou Formation. 9Geochronology of Baogutu porphyry copper deposit in Western Junggar area, Xinjiang of China显示文摘Baogutu copper deposit in Western Junggar area is a mesoscopic porphyry deposit found in recent years. Study on its geochronology will help further understand ore genesis and regional ore-forming pattern. A series of small quartz-diorite and granodiorite stocks outcrop at Baogutu area, numbered I―X according to their size. A detailed exploration on Number V stock confirmed it as a mesoscopic scale copper deposit, and various exploration work has been carried out on other stocks with ore-forming evidence. This paper studies geochronology of Number V stock using zircon SHRIMP U-Pb and single mineral K-Ar method. Twenty-five SHRIMP ages yield two 206Pb/238U weighed mean ages of 335.6 ± 7.8 Ma and 311.4 ± 3.3 Ma respectively. The older date is considered to be inherited zircon from either surrounding rock tuff or deep granitoid batholith, whereas the younger date is the formation age of ore-bearing intrusion. K-Ar ages of ore-forming biotites, 296.0 ± 3.7 Ma and 297.3 ± 3.8 Ma, in combination with Re-Os age of molybdenite, 310 Ma, confirm the ore-forming age of 310-296 Ma. Granophyre and dioritic porphyrite dikes cut Number V stock and their K-Ar ages range from 278 to 240 Ma, which confine the lower boundary of the mineralization. 11Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32
12Transmission routes of 2019-nCoV and controlsin dental practice显示文摘A novel β-coronavirus(2019-nCoV) caused severe and even fatal pneumonia explored in a seafood market of Wuhan city, Hubei province, China, and rapidly spread to other provinces of China and other countries. The 2019-nCoV was different from SARS-Co V,but shared the same host receptor the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2). The natural host of 2019-nCoV may be the bat Rhinolophus affinis as 2019-nCoV showed 96.2% of whole-genome identity to Bat Co V Ra TG13. The person-to-person transmission routes of 2019-nCoV included direct transmission, such as cough, sneeze, droplet inhalation transmission, and contact transmission, such as the contact with oral, nasal, and eye mucous membranes. 2019-nCoV can also be transmitted through the saliva, and the fecal–oral routes may also be a potential person-to-person transmission route. The participants in dental practice expose to tremendous risk of 2019-nCoV infection due to the face-to-face communication and the exposure to saliva, blood, and other body fluids, and the handling of sharp instruments. Dental professionals play great roles in preventing the transmission of2019-nCoV. 14Cytological, physiological, and transcriptomic analyses of golden leaf coloration in Ginkgo biloba L显示文摘Ginkgo biloba is grown worldwide as an ornamental plant for its golden leaf color.However,the regulatory mechanism of leaf coloration in G.biloba remains unclear.Here,we compared G.biloba gold-colored mutant leaves and normal green leaves in cytological,physiological and transcriptomic terms.We found that chloroplasts of the mutant were fewer and smaller,and exhibited ruptured thylakoid membranes,indistinct stromal lamellae and irregularly arranged vesicles.Physiological experiments also showed that the mutant had a lower chlorophyll,lower flavonoid and higher carotenoid contents(especially lutein).We further used transcriptomic sequencing to identify 116 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)and 46 transcription factors(TFs)involved in chloroplast development,chlorophyll metabolism,pigment biosynthesis and photosynthesis.Among these,the chlorophyll biosynthesis-related PPO showed down-regulation,while chlorophyll degradation-related NYC/NOL had up-regulated expression in mutant leaves.Z-ISO,ZDS,and LCYE,which are involved in carotenoid biosynthesis were up-regulated.Quantitative real-time PCR(RT-qPCR)further confirmed the altered expression levels of these genes at three stages.The alteration of PPO and NYC/NOL gene expression might affect chlorophyll biosynthesis and promote degradation of chlorophyll b to chlorophyll a,while the up-regulated genes Z-ISO,ZDS and LCYE enhanced carotenoid accumulation.Consequently,changes in the ratio of carotenoids to chlorophylls were the main factors driving the golden leaf coloration in the mutant G.biloba.Wei-xing Li Shun-bo Yang Zhaogeng Lu Zhi-chong He Yun-ling Ye Bei-bei Zhao Li Wang Biao Jin 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:28

16Safety threshold of high-speed railway pier settlement based on train-track-bridge dynamic interaction显示文摘This paper presents a method to determine the safety threshold of bridge pier settlement in high-speed railways.An analytical expression of the mapping relationship between the pier settlement and the rail deformation is derived theoretically for the double block ballastless track-bridge system.By adopting the superposition of the track random irregularity and the rail deformation caused by the pier settlement as the excitation inputs,the variations of vehicle dynamics indices with pier settlement are comparatively analyzed.Then,the safety threshold of the bridge pier settlement is obtained according to the limit of vehicle running safety and ride comfort indices of the high-speed trains.Results show that the dynamics indices of different trains have different sensitivities to the pier settlement,and the train CRH2C is the most sensitive one among all the types of Chinese high-speed trains.When passing through the bridges in common span with pier settlement at the speed of 250–350 km/h,the trains suffer the low-frequency excitations,and the vertical acceleration of car body is most sensitive to the pier settlement of all the dynamics indices.When the car body vertical acceleration just exceeds the allowable limit,the critical settlement value is 23.4 mm,which is much bigger than the pier differential settlement limit in the current code for Chinese high-speed railways.CHEN Zhao Wei ZHAI Wan Ming CAI Cheng Biao SUN Yu 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,2:26

Chin ese Trauma Surge on Associati on orga nized a committee composed of 28 experts across China in July 2017, aiming to provide an evidence-based recommendation for the application of VSD in abdominal surgeries.Eleven questions regarding the use of VSD in abdominal surgeries were addressed:(1) which type of materials should be respectively chosen for the intraperitoneal cavity, retroperitoneal cavity and superficial incisions?(2) Can VSD be preventively used for a high-risk abdominal incision w让h primary suture?(3) Can VSD be used in severely contaminated/infected abdominal surgical sites?(4) Can VSD be used for temporary abdominal cavity closure under some special conditions such as severe abdominal trauma, infection, liver transplantation and intra-abdominal volume increment in abdominal compartment syndrome?(5) Can VSD be used in abdominal organ inflammation, injury, or postoperative drainage?(6) Can VSD be used in the treatment of intestinal fistula and pancreatic fistula?(7) Can VSD be used in the treatment of intra-abdominal and extra-peritoneal abscess?(8) Can VSD be used in the treatment of abdominal wall wounds, wound cavity, and defects?(9) Does VSD in crease the risk of bleeding?(10) Does VSD increase the risk of intestinal wail injury?(11) Does VSD increase the risk of peritoneal adhesion? Focusing on these questions, evidence-based recommendations were given accordingly. VSD was strongly recommended regarding the questions 2-4. Weak recommendations were made regarding questions 1 and 5-11. 18Maize Genic Male-Sterility Genes and Their Applications in Hybrid Breeding: Progress and Perspectives显示文摘As one of the most important crops, maize not only has been a source of the food, feed, and industrial feedstock for biofuel and bioproducts, but also became a model plant system for addressing fundamental questions in genetics. Male sterility is a very useful trait for hybrid vigor utilization and hybrid seed production. The identification and characterization of genic male-sterility (GMS) genes in maize and other plants have deepened our understanding of the molecular mechanisms controlling anther and pollen development, and enabled the development and efficient use of many biotechnology-based male-sterility (BMS) systems for crop hybrid breeding. In this review, we summarize main advances on the identification and characterization of GMS genes in maize, and con struct a putative regulatory network controlling maize anther and pollen development by comparative genomic analysis of GMS genes in maize, Arabidopsis, and rice. Furthermore, we discuss and appraise the features of more than a dozen BMS systems for propagating male-sterile lines and producing hybrid seeds in maize and other plants. Finally, we provide our perspectives on the studies of GMS genes and the development of novel BMS systems in maize and other plants. 19A review of transient flow structure and unsteady mechanism of cavitating flow显示文摘The flow structure and the unsteady mechanism of the unsteady cavitating flow are reviewed in this paper. The flow patterns and structures in different cavitation regime, for the attached cavitation and the vortical cavitation, are shown with both the visualization and the quantitative information. The attached cavitating flow around the Clark-Y hydrofoil and the vortical cavitating flow around the Tulin hydrofoil are considered. In particular, the phenomena such as the large-scale vortex structure and the re-entrant flow associated with the cloud cavitation, and the cavitating vortex street's forming and crumbling are described. The evolution of the cavitation structure in the transient sheet/cloud cavity forming, along with the cavity collapse induced by the re-entrant flow and the shock wave propagation are discussed. 20SHRIMP U-Pb Zircon Geochronology of the Xiaotongguanshan and Shatanjiao Intrusions and Its Petrological Implications in the Tongling Area, Anhui显示文摘This paper determines the crystallization ages of the Xiaotongguanshan quartz monzodiorite and Shatanjiao quartz monzonite porphyry from the Tongling area using the SHRIMP zircon U-Pb method. The crystallization age of the former is 142.8±1.8 Ma; that of the latter is 151.8±2.6 Ma. These data indicate that they were formed during the Late Jurassic (142.8 to 151.8 Ma). Zoned magma chamber was formed because of double diffusive convection.
