1Blunt trauma related chest wall and pulmonary injuries: An overview显示文摘Physical traumas are tragic and multifaceted injuries that suddenly threaten life.Although it is the third most common cause of death in all age groups,one out of four trauma patients die due to thoracic injury or its complications.Blunt injuries constitute the majority of chest trauma.This indicates the im porta nee of chest trauma among all traumas.Blunt chest trauma is usually caused by motor vehicle accident,falling from height,blunt instrument injury and physical assault.As a result of chest trauma,many injuries may occur,such as pulm onary injuries,and these require urge nt in terve ntion.Chest wall and pulmonary injuries range from rib fractures to flail chest,pneumothorax to hemothorax and pulmonary contusion to tracheobronchial injuries.Following these injuries,patients may present with a simple dyspnea or even respiratory arrest.For such patie nt,it is imports nt to understa nd the treatme nt logic and to take a multidisciplinary approach to treat the pulmonary and chest wall injuries.This is because only 10%of thoracic trauma patients require surgical operation and the remaining 90%can be treated with simple methods such as appropriate airway,oxygen support,maneuvers,volume support and tube thoracostomy.Adequate pain control in chest trauma is sometimes the most basic and best treatment.With definite diagnosis,the morbidity and mortality can be significantly reduced by simple treatment methods.Bekir Nihat Dogrul Ibrahim Kiliccalan Ekrem Samet Asci Selim Can Peker 2020Chinese Journal of Traumatology2020,23,3:19

3【原创论文】同侧和对侧大鼠睾丸缺血再灌注损伤的生化效应和褪黑激素对此的保护作用显示文摘睾丸扭转(TT),是一个多发于青春期男性的泌尿急症,如果不及时治疗,可致不孕不育。睾丸扭转所致缺血再灌注(I/R)损伤在睾丸损伤的病理生理过程中起一定作用。我们研究了褪黑激素在单侧睾丸扭转大鼠中同侧和对侧睾丸的氧化损伤效应:将21只青春期雄性Wistar大鼠分成三组,每组七只,处理如下:第1组(假手术组):行左睾丸和双边睾丸假切除术;第2组(I/R组):通过以下方式诱发缺血再灌注损伤(顺时针720°旋转左侧睾丸2小时,2小时后复位):第3组(I/R+MEL组):大鼠经诱导缺血再灌注损伤和一次性褪黑激素注射(50mgkg-1,i.p)。处理后离体分离各组大鼠双侧睾丸,用于检测睾丸组织中抗氧化过氧化氢酶、超氧化物歧化酶和谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶的活性,丙二醛、蛋白质羰基和一氧化氮的组织水平。较对照组,褪黑激素注射组同侧睾丸的脂质过氧化水平,相关酶活性降低,具有显著性(P〈0.05),而在对侧的睾丸中相关酶活性变化无统计学意义(P〉0.05)。在对侧睾丸中,丙二醛水平改变具有明显统计学意义(P=0.009)。应用褪黑素能减轻老鼠同侧睾丸扭转所致缺血再灌注损伤的不利影响,而对于对侧睾丸,睾丸扭转影响不大。Bekir S Parlaktas Dogan Atilgan Huseyin Ozyurt Yusuf Gencten Ali Akbas Fikret Erdemir Nihat Uluocak 2014Asian Journal of Andrology2014,16,2:10
4Bright and dark soliton solutions for some nonlinear fractional differential equations显示文摘In this work, we propose a new approach, namely ansatz method, for solving fractional differential equations based on a fractional complex transform and apply it to the nonlinear partial space–time fractional modified Benjamin–Bona–Mahoney(m BBM) equation, the time fractional m Kd V equation and the nonlinear fractional Zoomeron equation which gives rise to some new exact solutions. The physical parameters in the soliton solutions: amplitude, inverse width, free parameters and velocity are obtained as functions of the dependent model coefficients. This method is suitable and more powerful for solving other kinds of nonlinear fractional PDEs arising in mathematical physics. 5Spontaneous combustion liability between coal seams: A thermogravimetric study显示文摘The spontaneous combustion liability of coal can be determined by using different experimental techniques.These techniques are well-known in their application,but no certain test method has become a standard to prove the reliability of all of them.A general characterisation which included proximate and ultimate analyses,petrographic properties and spontaneous combustion tests(thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and the Wits-Ehac tests)were conducted on fourteen coal and four coal-shale samples.The spontaneous combustion liability of these samples collected between coal seams(above and below)were predicted using the TGA and the Wits-Ehac tests.Six different heating rates(3,6,9,15,20 and 25C/min)were selected based on the deviation coefficient to obtain different derivative slopes and a liability index termed the TGspc index.This study found that coal and coal-shale undergo spontaneous combustion between coal seams when exposed to oxygen in the air.Their intrinsic properties and proneness towards spontaneous combustion differ considerably from one seam to the other.The Wits-Ehac test results agreed with the TGspc results to a certain extent and revealed the incidents of spontaneous combustion in the coal mines.Moshood Onifade Bekir Genc Samson Bada 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,5:6
6Assessment of the long-term visual and anatomical outcomes of ranibizumab to treat neovascular age-related macular degeneration显示文摘AIM: To investigate the long-term visual and anatomical outcomes of patients who underwent intravitreal ranibizumab monotherapy to treat neovascular age-related macular degeneration(AMD) and followed-up for at least 2 y.METHODS: A total of 74 eyes of 74 patients who underwent ranibizumab monotherapy for neovascular AMD were included in this retrospective study.RESULTS: The average patient age was 72.1±6.5(range, 57-85)y, the average follow-up time 46.2±13.1(range, 24-75)mo, and the average number of visits 24.1±9.5(range, 8-48). The mean number of injections in year 1 was 4.5, 1.6 in year 2, 0.9 in year 3, 0.4 on year 4, and 0.1 in the following years. Within the entire follow-up period, the mean number of injections was 7.6±4.4(range, 2-21). The mean visual acuity was 48.1±15(range, 15-76) letters at baseline and 45.7±19(range, 7-75) at year 5. The mean central macular thickness was 303±78(range, 178-552) μm at baseline and 251±51(range, 138-359) μm at year 5. 13Evaluation of line brattice length in an empty heading to improve air flow rate at the face using CFD显示文摘The effectiveness of line brattice(LB) ventilation system depends on the associated system variables.However, the effect of these variables on the air flow rates close to the face of the heading is not extensively studied. In this paper, the effect of the LB length in relation to the LB-wall distance on the air flow rate reaching the face is analysed. Scenarios were developed using four LB lengths, two LB-wall distances and two heading depths. These scenarios were simulated with a validated CFD model. The air flow rates and patterns at various locations inside the heading were analysed. This helped to find the minimum LB-face distance that should be maintained for each LB-wall distance to maximise the air flow rate at the face. 14Analysis of serum antibody profile against H pylori VacA and CagA antigens in Turkish patients with duodenal ulcer显示文摘AIM: To investigate the frequency of seropositivity aga- inst CagA, VacA proteins and to determine their indepen- dent effects on the development of duodenal ulcer (DU) in Turkish patients. METHODS: The study was designed as a prospective one from a tertiary referral hospital. Dyspeptic patients who were referred to our endoscopy unit for upper gas- trointestinal endoscopy between June 2003 and March 2004 and diagnosed to have DU or nonulcer dyspepsia (NUD) were included. Biopsies from the antrum and body of the stomach were taken in order to assess the current H pylori status by histology, rapid urease test and culture. Fasting sera were obtained from all patients and H pylori status of all sera was determined by IgG antibo- dies using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELI- SA) kit. All seropositive patients were further analysed using Western blot assays detecting IgG antibodies aga- inst CagA and VacA proteins. The χ2 test was used for statistical comparison of the values and age-sex adjusted multiple regression analysis was used to determine the independent effects of CagA and VacA seropositivities on the development of DU. RESULTS: Sixty-three patients with DU and 62 patients with NUD were eligible for the final analysis. Seropositi- vity for anti-CagA was detected in 51 of 62 (82%), andin 55 of 63 (87%) patients with NUD and DU, respec- tively (p = no significance), and seropositivity for anti- VacA was found in 25 of 62 (40% ) and in 16 of 63 (25%) patients, with NUD and DU, respectively. 16Isolation and diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori by a new method: Microcapillary culture显示文摘AIM:To investigate the performance of the microcapillary culture method(MCM) in Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) isolation and diagnosis.METHODS:Microcapillary culture(MC),classical culture(CC),rapid urease(CLO) test,and histopathologic examination(HE) were performed with biopsy samples.Homogenized biopsy samples were loaded into capillary tubes and incubated for 48 h at 37 ℃ without providing a microaerophilic environment.Additionally,three or four loops of the homogenized sample were inoculated in a ready-to-use selective medium(Becton Dickinson,Helicobacter Agar,Modified) specific for the isolation of H.pylori and incubated at 37 ℃ in a microaerophilic atmosphere provided by Campy Gen(Becton Dickinson,Gas Pack).Bacteria reproducing in microcapillary tubes were evaluated in an inverted microscope and also were evaluated after performing a CC with the content.Results obtained by CC,CLO test,and HE were compared with those of MC.The diagnostic performances of the methods used in this study were evaluated for specificity,sensitivity,positive predictive value(PPV),negative predictive value(NPV),and CI.RESULTS:H.pylori was found positive by CLO test +HE and/or CC culture in 26 patient antrum and corpus biopsy samples.In 25(25/26) patient biopsy samples,H.pylori was isolated by MCM,whereas in only 14(14/26) patient biopsy samples,H.pylori was isolatedby CC.CLO test and HE were found positive in 17(17/26) patient biopsy samples.Comparing the results of the isolation of H.pylori by MCM,CC,CLO test,and HE,the sensitivity of the MCM was found as 96%,the specificity as 80%,the PPV as 83%,the NPV as 95%,and the 95%CI as 0.76(χ2 =31.51,P < 0.01) whereas the sensitivity of the CC was found as 54%(χ2 =19.15,P < 0.01),and the sensitivity of the CLO test and HE were found as 65%(χ2 =25.26,P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:This new microcapillary cultivation method for H.pylori has high diagnostic sensitivity compared with CC,HE,and CLO tests.Adil M Allahverdiyev Melahat Bagirova Reyhan Caliskan Hrisi Bahar Tokman Hayat Aliyeva Gokce Unal Olga Nehir Oztel Emrah Sefik Abamor Hilal Toptas Pelin Yuksel Fatma Kalayci Mustafa Aslan Yusuf Erzin Kadir Bal Bekir S Kocazeybek 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,9:2
17Density-Dependent Conformable Space-time Fractional Diffusion-Reaction Equation and Its Exact Solutions显示文摘In this article, a special type of fractional differential equations(FDEs) named the density-dependent conformable fractional diffusion-reaction(DDCFDR) equation is studied. Aforementioned equation has a significant role in the modelling of some phenomena arising in the applied science. The well-organized methods, including the exp(-φ(ε))-expansion and modified Kudryashov methods are exerted to generate the exact solutions of this equation such that some of the solutions are new and have been reported for the first time. 19Effect of Porosity on the Mechanical Properties and Wear Performance of 2% Copper Reinforced Sintered Steel Used in Shock Absorber Piston Production显示文摘Powder metallurgy(P/M)method has mainly been used to produce automobile parts such as self-lubrication beds,shock absorber parts,and gear wheels.In order to investigate the effect of porosity on the mechanical and tribological properties in sintered steel,specimens with 10%,15%,and 20%porosity were produced in a 10 mm×10 mm×55 mm prismatic shape by pre-alloying powders of the MPIF Fe-C-0.205 alloy used in the production of shock absorber pistons.Sintering was carried out at 900-C for 45 min in an argon atmosphere. Tensile,charpy,and microhardness tests were performed on these specimens.In addition,the wear performance of a 2%Cu reinforced sintered steel alloy under dry sliding conditions was determined.Metallographic studies such as pore formation,worn surface,and fractured surface analyses were performed by scanning electron microscopy and optical microscopy.The results indicate that irregular pore formation tendencies increase with an increase in porosity(%).Furthermore,an increase in porosity was shown to decrease the mechanical properties and increase the wear trace area and the friction coe-cient of sintered steel.Bekir Yalin 2009Journal of Materials Science & Technology2009,25,5:2
