3Zika virus infection induces RNAi-mediated antiviral immunity in human neural progenitors and brain organoids显示文摘The re-emergence of Zika virus(ZIKV)in the Western Hemisphere has resulted in global public health crisis since 2015.ZIKV preferentially infects and targets human neural progenitor cells(hNPCs)and causes fetal microcephaly upon maternal infection.hNPCs not only play critical roles during fetal brain development,but also persist in adult brain throughout life.Yet the mechanism of innate antiviral immunity in hNPCs remains largely unknown.Here,we show that ZIKV infection triggers the abundant production of virus-derived small interfering RNAs in hNPCs,but not in the more differentiated progenies or somatic cells.Ablation of key RNAi machinery components significantly enhances ZIKV replication in hNPCs.Furthermore,enoxacin,a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is known as an RNAi enhancer,exerts potent anti-ZIKV activity in hNPCs and other RNAi-competent cells.Strikingly,enoxacin treatment completely prevents ZIKV infection and circumvents ZIKV-induced microcephalic phenotypes in brain organoid models that recapitulate human fetal brain development.Our findings highlight the physiological importance of RNAi-mediated antiviral immunity during the early stage of human brain development,uncovering a novel strategy to combat human congenital viral infections through enhancing RNAi.Yan-Peng Xu Yang Qiu Boya Zhang Guilai Chen Qi Chen Miao Wang Fan Mo Jiuyue Xu Jin Wu Rong-Rong Zhang Meng-Li Cheng Na-Na Zhang Bao Lyu Wen-Liang Zhu Meng-Hua Wu Qing Ye Da Zhang Jiang-Hong Man Xiao-Feng Li Jie Cui Zhiheng Xu Baoyang Hu Xi Zhou Cheng-Feng Qin 2019Cell Research2019,29,4:8

6Novel HDAC5-interacting motifs of Tbx3 are essential for the suppression of E-cadherin expression and for the promotion of metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Tbx3,a transcriptional repressor,is essential in the organogenesis of vertebrates,stem cell self-renewal and differentiation,and the carcinogenesis of multiple tumor types.However,the mechanism by which Tbx3 participates in the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remains largely unknown.In this study,we show that Tbx3 was dramatically upregulated in clinical HCC samples and that elevated expression of Tbx3 promoted cancer progression.To determine the underlying mechanism,systematic glycine scan mutagenesis and deletion assays were performed.We identified two critical motifs,^(585)LFSYPYT^(591)and^(604)HRH^(606),that contribute to the repression of transcriptional activity.These motifs are also essential for Tbx3 to promote cell migration and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo via the suppression of E-cadherin expression.More importantly,Tbx3 directly interacts with HDAC5 via these motifs,and an HDAC inhibitor blocks Tbx3-mediated cell migration and the downregulation of E-cadherin in HCC.As Tbx3 is involved in the carcinogenesis of multiple types of human cancers,our findings suggest an important target for anticancer drug development.Liang Dong Qi Dong Ying Chen Yichen Li Bao Zhang Fanghang Zhou Xiaoming Lyu George GChen Paul Lai Hsiang-fu Kung Ming-Liang He 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:3
7Investigation of the structural, electronic and mechanical properties of CaO–SiO_(2) compound particles in steel based on density functional theory显示文摘CaO–SiO_(2)compounds compromise one of the most common series of oxide particles in liquid steels, which could significantly affect the service performance of the steels as crack initiation sites. However, the structural, electronic, and mechanical properties of the compounds in CaO–SiO_(2)system are still not fully clarified due to the difficulties in the experiments. In this study, a thorough investigation of these properties of CaO–SiO_(2)compound particles in steels was conducted based on first-principles density functional theory. Corresponding phases were determined by thermodynamic calculation, including gamma dicalcium silicate(γ-C2S), alpha-prime(L) dicalcium silicate(αL′-C2S), alpha-prime(H) dicalcium silicate(αH′-C2S), alpha dicalcium silicate(α-C2S), rankinite(C3S2), hatrurite(C3S), wollastonite(CS), and pseudowollastonite(Ps-CS). The results showed that the calculated crystal structures of the eight phases agree well with the experimental results. All the eight phases are stable according to the calculated formation energies, and γ-C2S is the most stable. O atom contributes the most to the reactivity of these phases. The Young’s modulus of the eight phases is in the range of 100.63–132.04 GPa. Poisson’s ratio is in the range of0.249–0.281. 8Analysis of retinal vasculature changes in indirect traumatic optic neuropathy using optic coherence tomography angiography显示文摘AIM:To assess the retinal vasculature alterations in indirect traumatic optic neuropathy(ITON)patients following craniofacial trauma by optic coherence tomography angiography(OCTA).METHODS:Patients diagnosed of monocular ITON were recruited from August 2016 to May 2020.OCTA was performed using the Angio Vue OCT-A system for two cube scans centered at the optic nerve head and fovea.OCTA data included thicknesses of peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL)and macular ganglion cell complex(GCC),as well as proportion of capillary perfusion and data were analyzed for correlation with post-injury timepoints:within 7,8-30,31-90,and 91-365d.RESULTS:A total of 73 ITON patients were studied.Significant thinning of RNFL and GCC layers and attenuation of microvascular perfusion were observed in ITON eyes as compared to contralateral unaffected eyes(for most of the analyzed sectors and quadrants,P<0.05).Without respect to surgical intervention and vision recovery,the decrease in retinal layer thicknesses and microvascular perfusion was time-dependent,and most significant within three months(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:ITON presents with time-dependent thinning of retinal layers and attenuation of microvasculature,indicating possible degeneration of retinal ganglion cells due to reduced retinal blood supply.Huan Ma Yang Gao Jin-Miao Li Yue-Kun Bao Cong Nie Pan Yin Xi Lyu Xiao-Yan Ding Rong Lu 2022International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2022,15,8:1
9Discharge rate consistency of each channel for UAV-based pneumatic granular fertilizer spreader显示文摘Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are widely being used to spread granular fertilizer in China.Granular fertilizer spreaders equipped with UAVs are mainly centrifugal disc-type and pneumatic.The multichannel pneumatic granular fertilizer spreaders(MPGFSs)have a banded fertilizer deposition distribution pattern,which are more suitable for variable rate fertilization with high precision requirement than the circular deposition distribution pattern of disc-type granular fertilizer spreaders(DGFSs).However,the existing MPGFS has the disadvantage of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,which affects the uniformity of fertilization.In order to explore the causes of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,the discrete element method(DEM)and bench test were performed to analysis the discharge process of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus and distribution of fertilizer in axial direction of fluted roller.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)was used to simulate the airflow field of pneumatic system to analyze the influence of airflow on the movement of fertilizer particles.The simulation results of the discharge process of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus showed that the filling velocity at the axial ends of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus was lower than that of the middle.The reason was that the filling capacity was weak near the wall.The simulated results of the airflow field without partitions showed that the airflow provided by the axial flow fan was rotational,and this caused the particles to move irregularly in the throat,resulting in inconsistency discharge rate of each channel.Based on the analysis of reasons of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,a MPGFS with partitions in the throat was developed.The discharge rate bench tests were carried out to optimize the partition spacing parameters,and fertilization test was performed to test the performance of the improved MPGFS.The discharge rate test results showed better consistency with partition.The coefficient of variation(CV)of the discharge rate of each channel was 20.16%without the partition and 7.70%with the optimal partition.The fertilizer spreading uniformity bench test results shown that the CV of spreading uniformity of MPGFS without partitions was 15.32%,and that MPGFS with partitions was 8.69%.The partitions design was beneficial to improve the consistency of each channel discharge rate and the uniformity of fertilization.The finding can provide a strong reference to design the MPGFS.Xunwei Wang Rui Jiang Zhiyan Zhou Cancan Song Xiwen Luo Ruifeng Bao Zichen Lyu Junhao Huang Jianqin Lin 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:1

11Tunable ultrathin dual-phase P-doped Bi_(2)MoO_(6) nanosheets for advanced lithium and sodium storage显示文摘The construction of electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)has gradually been an appealing and attractive technology in energy storage research field.In the present work,a facile strategy of synthesizing ultrathin amorphous/nanocrystal dual-phase P-doped Bi_(2)MoO_(6)(denoted as P-BiMO)nanosheets via a one-step wet-chemical synthesis approach is explored.Quite distinct from conventional two-dimensional(2D)nanosheets,our newly developed ultrathin P-BiMO nanosheets exhibit a unique tunable amorphous/nanocrystalline dual-phase structure with several compelling advantages including fast ion exchange ability and superb volume change buffer capability.The experimental results reveal that our prepared P-BiMO-6 electrode delivers an excellent reversible capacity of 509.6 mA·g^(−1) after continuous 1,500 cycles at the current densities of 1,500 mA·g^(−1) and improved rate performance for LIBs.In the meanwhile,the P-BiMO-6 electrode also shows a reversible capacity of 300.6 mA·g^(−1) after 100 cycles at 50 mA·g^(−1) when being used as the SIBs electrodes.This present work uncovers an effective dual-phase nanosheet structure to improve the performance of batteries,providing an attractive paradigm to develop superior electrode materials.Fucong Lyu Zhe Jia Shanshan Zeng Fei-Xiang Ma Lulu Pan Lizi Cheng Yan Bao Ligang Sun Weihui Ou Peng Du Yang Yang Li Jian Lu 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:1

15Adaptation of Ocular Opponency Neurons Mediates Attention-Induced Ocular Dominance Plasticity显示文摘Previous research has shown that ocular dominance can be biased by prolonged attention to one eye.The ocular-opponency-neuron model of binocular rivalry has been proposed as a candidate account for this phenomenon.Yet direct neural evidence is still lacking.By manipulating the contrast of dichoptic testing gratings,here we measured the steady-state visually evoked potentials(SSVEPs)at the intermodulation frequencies to selectively track the activities of ocular-opponency-neurons before and after the“dichoptic-backward-movie”adaptation.One hour of adaptation caused a shift of perceptual and neural ocular dominance towards the unattended eye.More importantly,we found a decrease in the intermodulation SSVEP response after adaptation,which was significantly greater when high-contrast gratings were presented to the attended eye than when they were presented to the unattended eye.These results strongly support the view that the adaptation of ocular-opponency-neurons contributes to the ocular dominance plasticity induced by prolonged eye-based attention.Fangxing Song Lili Lyu Min Bao 2024Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,3:0
16Gold mineralization in Jiaodong Peninsula and destruction of North China Craton:Insights from Mesozoic granite显示文摘Large-scale tectonic magmatism and extensive gold mineralization have occurred in the eastern North China Craton(NCC)(Jiaodong and Liaodong peninsulas)since Mesozoic,which indicated that the region experienced decratonization process.The genesis type of granites evolved from S-type to I-type and A-type during Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous,and thus reflects the evolution of geodynamics in the Late Mesozoic,indicating the varied subduction process of the Paleo-Pacific Plate(PPP)and the craton destruction.The evolution of geochemical features shows that the mantle beneath the Jiaodong Peninsula evolved from EM-II in Jurassic to EM-I in Early Cretaceous,demonstrating that the mantle switched from enriched to depleted.The gold of decratonic gold deposits in Jiaodong Peninsula mainly comes from the lithospheric mantle domains metasomatized by fluids derived from the metamorphism and dehydration of the subducted slab in the mantle transition zone.The rapid decomposition of minerals leads to the concentrated release of ore-forming fluids,and this process leads to the explosive gold mineralization during the craton destruction.Extensive magmatic uplift and extensional structures,triggered by the craton destruction in Early Cretaceous formed the extensional tectonic system,providing space for the decratonic gold deposits in Jiaodong Peninsula.WANG Bin ZHOU Jianbo DING Zhengjiang ZHAO Tiqun SONG Mingchun BAO Zhongyi LYU Junyang XU Shaohui YAN Chunming LIU Xiangdong LIU Jialiang 2023Global Geology2023,26,2:0
17An intelligent prediction method of fractures in tight carbonate reservoirs显示文摘An intelligent prediction method for fractures in tight carbonate reservoir has been established by upgrading single-well fracture identification and interwell fracture trend prediction with artificial intelligence,modifying construction of interwell fracture density model,and modeling fracture network and making fracture property equivalence.This method deeply mines fracture information in multi-source isomerous data of different scales to reduce uncertainties of fracture prediction.Based on conventional fracture indicating parameter method,a prediction method of single-well fractures has been worked out by using 3 kinds of artificial intelligence methods to improve fracture identification accuracy from 3 aspects,small sample classification,multi-scale nonlinear feature extraction,and decreasing variance of the prediction model.Fracture prediction by artificial intelligence using seismic attributes provides many details of inter-well fractures.It is combined with fault-related fracture information predicted by numerical simulation of reservoir geomechanics to improve inter-well fracture trend prediction.An interwell fracture density model for fracture network modeling is built by coupling single-well fracture identification and interwell fracture trend through co-sequential simulation.By taking the tight carbonate reservoir of Oligocene-Miocene AS Formation of A Oilfield in Zagros Basin of the Middle East as an example,the proposed prediction method was applied and verified.The single-well fracture identification improves over 15%compared with the conventional fracture indication parameter method in accuracy rate,and the inter-well fracture prediction improves over 25%compared with the composite seismic attribute prediction.The established fracture network model is well consistent with the fluid production index.DONG Shaoqun ZENG Lianbo DU Xiangyi BAO Mingyang LYU Wenya JI Chunqiu HAO Jingru 2022Petroleum Exploration and Development2022,49,6:0
18Spatiotemporal variation of the loose deposits in Baisha River Basin after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Extensive landslides were triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake(in China)on 12 May 2008,causing a tremendous amount of loose material suspended on the hillslopes,likely to be eroded and transported by rain.It is of great significance to study the long-term variation of the quantity and spatiotemporal distribution of loose deposits after a great earthquake in order to understand the restoration process,to assess the risk of future soil erosion,including geological hazards,and to further develop ecological governance strategy.In this study,information about the multi-temporal loose deposits on the ranges of the Baisha River Basin,an alpine valley near the epicenter,was extracted by objectoriented remote sensing interpretation,and analysis on their spatiotemporal variation showed that the earthquake in 2008 resulted in loose deposits covering an additional area of 81.09 km2,with a volume estimated at 0.357 billion m3.Within five years after the earthquake,the vegetation had recovered rapidly,and the extent of the deposits was significantly less.From 5 to 13 years after the earthquake,the vegetation continued to recover but at a slower rate and a decreasing trend in newly formed deposits was evident.The total area,volume and quantity of the loose deposits gradually stabilized.The geometric mean center of the loose deposits gradually moved back towards the upstream area after the earthquake and,by 2021,the mean center was about 4 km away from its pre-earthquake position.Taking the mean center of the loose deposits in 2008 as the center,the deposits in the downstream area shrank significantly after the earthquake,but collapses and landslides of deposits persisted in the upstream area to the west-southwest,west-northwest and northnorthwest from the mean center,indicating future source areas of new loose deposits in the basin.LYU Jiao-rong BAO Yu-hai XIE Hang-yu LI Hong HU Yun-hua HE Xiu-bin 2022Journal of Mountain Science2022,19,9:0
19Effect of group size and regrouping on physiological stress and behavior of dairy calves显示文摘Mixing or regrouping of calves from different pens is a common animal management practice on the farm, which frequently occurs after weaning and has a negative effect on calve welfare. Social integration before regrouping may relieve stresses, but more evidences are needed to verify this hypothesis. The present study aimed to investigate acute physiological and behavioral variations of individually-or group-housed calves after being introduced into a mixed group. A total of 132 postnatal calves were randomly divided into groups of 1, 3, 6 and 12 animals(S, G3, G6, and G12;6 replicates in each group) until 59 days of age. At 60 days of age, every two replicates from different groups(S, G3, G6 and G12)were introduced in a larger pen which containing 44 of the aboved experimental calves. Before and after regrouping,physiological parameters of stress, including heart rate(HR), saliva cortisol(S-CORT), saliva secretory immunoglobulin A(SIgA), interleukin-2(IL-2), interleukin-6(IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) levels, and behavioral responses were recorded. After regrouping, HR and S-CORT increased immediately(P<0.05), and higher(P<0.05) levels of such molecules were found in S calves compared to those in group-housed calves. Levels of SIgA and IL-2 were decreased(P<0.05), and the lowest(P<0.05) IL-2 values were found in S calves compared to those in group-housed calves. In addition, the introduced calves displayed a distinct behavior, including altered active and rest time, which was associated with negative emotions triggered by the novel surroundings. Allogrooming, play, exploration behaviors and lying time were increased significantly(P<0.05) in group-housed calves than those in S calves. Conversely, self-grooming, aggressive behaviors, standing and walking time were increased(P<0.05) in S calves than those in group-housed calves. These findings suggest that individually-housed calves may be more susceptible to stressors arising from regrouping than grouphoused calves, which consequently negatively affected behavioral and neuroendocrine responses. 20Application performances of two greenhouses with new types of backwall in Yangling,China显示文摘In order to investigate the application performances of the solar greenhouses with new types of backwall(greenhouse W_(2),and greenhouse W_(3))and the ordinary clay brick backwall greenhouse(greenhouse W_(1)),and provide a theoretical basis for the construction of solar greenhouse in Yangling Demonstration Zone,Shaanxi,China,two greenhouses with different new types of backwall were designed.The backwall of one of them was built with lightweight aggregate concrete block(greenhouse W_(2))and that of the other one was assembled with a row of sand-filled cement pipes(greenhouse W_(3)).The tested greenhouses were constructed in Yangling Demonstration Zone.Based on the data collected on typical sunny and cloudy days,the indoor temperature,inside wall temperature,and the heat flow of the greenhouses with new types of backwall were compared with those detected in the ordinary clay brick backwall solar greenhouse,and the tested results were numerically simulated.According to the comparison of the physiological indicators of tomatoes planted in the greenhouses and the construction costs,the greenhouse type with the best practicability was found.The results indicated that:The average air temperature in greenhouses W_(1),W_(2),and W_(3)and outside was 15.1℃,15.9℃,17.3℃,and−0.4℃ on the night of a sunny day,and the air temperature in W_(3)was the highest.The average air temperature in greenhouses W_(1),W_(2),and W_(3)and outside were 9.5℃,13.3℃,11.0℃,and−5.5℃ on the night of a cloudy day,the air temperature in W_(2)was the highest.In the depth of 0-330 mm from the interface of the backwalls,the walls were obviously affected by the solar radiation,and the temperature changed greatly.The wall temperature on the sunny days exhibited an ascending order of W_(1),W_(2),W_(3),while on the cloudy days was in the ascending order of W_(1),W_(3),W_(2).The wall of W_(3)absorbed the most heat during the daytime and released the most heat at night on the sunny day,while W_(2)exhibited the second most heat absorption during the daytime,however,it exhibited the highest heat release at night on the cloudy day,which were almost equaled to its heat absorption.Tomatoes in W_(3)grew well and exhibited the highest yield,and this greenhouse had the lowest construction costs.Comprehensively considering the physiological indicators of tomatoes and the corresponding construction costs of greenhouses,W_(3)has the best application performance in Yangling Demonstration Zone.Yachen Sun Haotian Wang Chenmeng Zhu Hongyi Lyu Xuanhe Zhang Yanfei Cao Jianming Li Zhirong Zou Encai Bao 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,3:0
