1Novel fibrin-fibronectin matrix accelerates mice skin wound healing显示文摘Plasma fibrinogen(F1)and fibronectin(pFN)polymerize to form a fibrin clot that is both a hemostatic and provisional matrix for wound healing.About 90%of plasma F1 has a homodimeric pair ofγchains(γγF1),and 10%has a heterodimeric pair ofγand more acidicγ′chains(γγ′F1).We have synthesized a novel fibrin matrix exclusively from a 1:1(molar ratio)complex ofγγ′F1 and pFN in the presence of highly active thrombin and recombinant Factor XIII(rFXIIIa).In this matrix,the fibrin nanofibers were decorated with pFN nanoclusters(termedγγ′F1:pFN fibrin).In contrast,fibrin made from 1:1 mixture ofγγF1 and pFN formed a sporadic distribution of“pFN droplets”(termedγγF1+pFN fibrin).Theγγ′F1:pFN fibrin enhanced the adhesion of primary human umbilical vein endothelium cells(HUVECs)relative to theγγF1+FN fibrin.Three dimensional(3D)culturing showed that theγγ′F1:pFN complex fibrin matrix enhanced the proliferation of both HUVECs and primary human fibroblasts.HUVECs in the 3Dγγ′F1:pFN fibrin exhibited a starkly enhanced vascular morphogenesis while an apoptotic growth profile was observed in theγγF1+pFN fibrin.Relative toγγF1+pFN fibrin,mouse dermal wounds that were sealed byγγ′F1:pFN fibrin exhibited accelerated and enhanced healing.This study suggests that a 3D pFN presentation on a fibrin matrix promotes wound healing.Carlos Poblete Jara Ou Wang Thais Paulino do Prado Ayman Ismail Frank Marco Fabian Han Li Licio A.Velloso Mark A.Carlson William Burgess Yuguo Lei William H.Velander Eliana P.Araújo 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:5
2Vertical brush seed metering device for sweet sugar beet planter显示文摘In crop production,the mean condition for high productivity depends on singular seed holding in metering device of sugar beet planters.A general design of vertical or horizontal feeding disc is only to plant the coated sugar beet seeds due to the irregularity of surrounding shape of seeds.The paper is focused on developed and constructed vertical brush metering device to plant the ordinary types of sugar beet seeds(multi or mono germs).The physical properties of sugar beet seed species have influences on the behavior of vertical brush metering device.To evaluate the vertical brush metering device,some properties of sugar beet species were determined and some experimental results of planting were identified in this paper.The main dimensions(length,width and thickness),sphericity,geometric and arithmetic mean diameter,surface area,bulk density and true density were identified as physical parameters.Meanwhile,the terminal velocity,and hardness were measured as engineering properties.The static coefficient of friction for multi-germ seeds under different surfaces(stainless steel,sheet galvanized,plastic and rubber)were 0.48±0.42;0.51±0.56;0.57±0.34 and 0.72±0.53 respectively,while they were 0.26±0.57;0.28±0.38;0.30±0.34 and 0.36±0.74 for the mono-germ seeds respectively under the above mentioned surfaces.The regressions analysis for the relationship between the main parameters of sugar beet seed indicated that the highest positive effective factors affecting the approximation physical sugar beet seeds properties is the width of sugar beet for multi-germ while the length is more effective for mono-germ seeds.The vertical brush metering device is one key part of sweet sugar beet planter;it was evaluated by assessing the actual relationship between the three density of hair per hole(50,75 and 100 hair/hole)and the feeding device parameters(seeding traveling and peripheral speeds of metering device).The seeds flow in brush device was controlled by seed lever control which lies in seed tank bottom.All parameters were measured at different levels of brush device with four peripheral speeds(0.16;0.24;0.32;and 0.4 m/s).Feeding quality,missing seeds,multiple indices and precision of seed index are the most common characteristics used to evaluate the metering device performance.The highest seed feed index was achieved on the brush device with hair density of 100 hair/hole for two different sugar beet varieties(Multi-germ of 83.07%and mono-germ of 80.56%).The lowest seed feed index was obtained from the experiments using the hair density of 50 hair/hole with peripheral brush speed of 0.4 m/s.The lower values of precision index indicate better performance of the brush device,therefore the lowest values were found at seeding speed of 2.0 m/s,0.3 m/s peripheral speed of feeding device and 100 hair/hole densities.Ismail Z.Ebrahem Ayman H.Amer Eissa Wang Yingkuan 2010International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2010,3,1:1
3Potentiality of Different Seed Priming Agents to Mitigate Cold Stress of Winter Rice Seedling显示文摘Seed priming has proved to be an effective pre-germination seed invigoration technique for different crops to improve seed and seedling performance under different abiotic stresses.In Bangladesh,winter rice is very often exposed to cold waves just after sowing in the nursery bed resulting in poor seed germination and seedling emergence,yellowish and thin seedlings production,and a very low survival rate.Seed priming may mitigate the cold stress during seed germination and seedling emergence and helps in the quality seedling production of winter rice.To evaluate the efficacy of different seed priming techniques in increasing seedling emergence,growth,vigor and survivability of winter rice cultivars under cold stress,a pot experiment was conducted at the Department of Agronomy,Bangladesh Agricultural University during December 2018 to January 2019.The experiment comprised two factors,(A)Winter rice variety namely,(i)BRRI dhan29 and (ii)BRRI dhan36;(B)Seed priming agent namely (i)Control(no priming),(ii)20000 ppm NaCl,(iii)30000 ppm NaCl,(iv)20000 ppm KCl,(v)30000 ppm KCl,(vi)20000 ppm CaCl2,(vii)30000 ppm CaCl2,(viii)50 ppm CuSO4,(ix)75 ppm CuSO_(4),(x)10000 ppm ZnSO4,(xi)15000 ppm ZnSO4,(xii)2 ppm Na2MoO4,(xiii)3 ppm Na2MoO4,(xiv)100 ppm PEG(Polyethylene glycol 4000)and (xv)150 ppm PEG.Seeds were sown on two different dates viz.,1st December and 1st January so that seedlings are exposed to cold stress at different stages.The experiment was laid out in a completely randomized design(CRD)with three replications.Results indicated that(in most of the cases)seed priming has a positive impact on seedling emergence rate(%),root length,shoot length,root shoot ratio,root dry weight,shoot dry weight,seedling dry weight and survival rate(%).Among the priming agents,KCl and CaCl2 performed best;while priming with NaCl and PEG showed no advantages over no priming for both the sowing dates.In general,BRRI dhan36 performed better than BRRI dhan29 in terms of seedling growth because of its higher tolerance to cold stress.But,both the varieties performed similarly in terms of emergence rate and survival rate.Thus,priming is an effective tool to increase seed germination,better seedling growth,and higher seedling survivability of winter rice under cold stress,and KCl(20000 ppm)or CaCl2(20000 ppm)can be considered as a viable priming agent.Md.Parvez Anwar Md.Ariful Islam Khalid A.K.M.Mominul Islam Sabina Yeasmin Sharif Ahmed Adel Hadifa Ismail A.Ismail Akbar Hossain Ayman EL Sabagh 2021Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,5:1
4Assessment of auditory and vestibular functions in vitiligo patients显示文摘Objectives: To evaluate audiological and vestibular functions via basic audiological evaluation. otoacoustic emissions and videonystagmography(VNG) in vitiligo patients.Material and methods: 30 vitiligo patients(8 acrofacial and 22 mixed types) as the study group and 30 normal healthy adults as the control group were included in the study. All participants were submitted to basic audiological evaluation. transient and distortion product otoacoustic emmisions(TEOAEs and DPOAEs), vestibular assessment including history taking, office tests and videonystagmography(VNG) and dermatological assessment to determine type, percent of body surface area involvement and duration of vitiligo.Results: This study showed statistically significant difference between control and study groups in pure tone audiometry(PTA) and otoacoustic emissions results. Fitfty percent of vitiligo patients had peripheral vestibular disorders(10 vestibulhar neuritis and 5 posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.Conclusion: The results in this study showed that 50% of vitiligo patients suffered from peripheral vestibular disorders in addition to auditory affection. 5Metagenomics and volatile profile of Turkish artisanal Tulum cheese microbiota显示文摘Turkish artisanal Tulum cheese is a traditional raw milk cheese and starter cultures are not used for ripening process.In this study,16S rRNA amplicon-based sequencing approach was used for determining bacterial diversity in Tulum cheeses.The volatile organic compound(VOC)profile which contributes to sensory properties of the cheeses was determined via solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS/SPME)and correlated with the microbiota.In Tulum cheese samples,Lactobacillaceae(30,71%)phylum widely varied but Streptococcaceae(59,86%)was dominant.It mainly belongs to the four dominant genera of lactic acid bacteria(LAB)and includes Lactobacillus,Lactococcus,Streptococcus and Pediococcus.The bacterial diversity of TC5 sample was much higher than that of other samples.Moreover,several species of non-starter LAB were frequently detected.A total of 36 volatile compounds were identified including hydrocarbons(3),acids(13),alcohols(5),ketones(3),aldehydes(3),esters(8)and miscellaneous compound(1).Pentadecanoic acid,octadecanoic acid,tetradecanoic acid,octanoic acid,hexanoic acid were determined to be dominant in all cheese samples and to be related to microbial flora.Also,the sensory profiles of the samples were examined.The most popular TC6 did not contain 2-butanone and hexanal from the volatile organic compound(VOC)values,while in the most unpopular TC3,2-butanone(7.73%)and hexanal(5.95%)were found to be the highest.The outcome of this study will contribute to literature on bacterial diversity and aromatic profile of Tulum cheese which should be investigated in order to improve quality and safety.Yekta Gezginc Tugba Karabekmez-Erdem Hazel Dilsad Tatar Elif Coskun Daggecen Sermet Ayman Ismail Akyol 2022Food Bioscience2022,45,1:0
