| 1 | Geochemistry of Carboniferous Sandstones (Sardar Formation), East-Central Iran: Implication for Provenance and Tectonic Setting显示文摘Geochemical analysis of sandstones from the Sardar Formation (from two stratigraphic successions) in east-central Iran were used for identification of geochemical characterization of sandstones, provenance and tectonic setting. Sandstones in the two lithostratigraphic successions have similar chemical compositions suggesting a common provenance. Bulk-rock geochemistry analysis of Carboniferous sandstones from Sardar Formation indicates that they are mainly quartz dominated and are classified as quartzarenites, sublitharenites and subarkoses, derived from acid igneous to intermediate igneous rocks. Discrimination function analysis indicates that the sandstones of Sardar Formation were derived from quartzose sedimentary provenance in a recycled orogenic setting. Also, major and trace elements in sandstones of Sardar Formation (e.g., K 2 O/Na 2 O vs. SiO 2 ) indicate deposition in a stable passive continental margin (PM). | 3 | Optimization of energy consumption and environmental impacts of chickpea production using data envelopment analysis(DEA)and multi objective genetic algorithm(MOGA)approaches显示文摘Energy consumption in agricultural products and its environmental damages has increased in recent centuries.Life cycle assessment(LCA)has been introduced as a suitable tool for evaluation environmental impacts related to a product over its life cycle.In this study,optimization of energy consumption and environmental impacts of chickpea production was conducted using data envelopment analysis(DEA)and multi objective genetic algorithm(MOGA)techniques.Data were collected from 110 chickpea production enterprises using a face to face questionnaire in the cropping season of 2014-2015.The results of optimization revealed that,when applying MOGA,optimum energy requirement for chickpea production was significantly lower compared to application of DEA technique;so that,total energy requirement in optimum situation was found to be 31511.72 and 27570.61 MJ ha^-1 by using DEA and MOGA techniques,respectively;showing a reduction by 5.11%and 17%relative to current situation of energy consumption.Optimization of environmental impacts by application of MOGA resulted in reduction of acidification potential(ACP),eutrophication potential(EUP),global warming potential(GWP),human toxicity potential(HTP)and terrestrial ecotoxicity potential(TEP)by 29%,23%,10%,6%and 36%,respectively.MOGAwas capable of reducing the energy consumption from machinery,farmyard manure(FYM)diesel fuel and nitrogen fertilizer(the mostly contributed inputs to the environmental emissions)by 59%,28.5%,24.58%and 11.24%,respectively.Overall,the MOGA technique showed a superior performance relative to DEA approach for optimizing energy inputs and reducing environmental impacts of chickpea production system. | Behzad Elhami Asadollah Akram Majid Khanali | 2016 | Information Processing in Agriculture2016,3,3: | 6 |
| 4 | Combined application of Artificial Neural Networks and life cycle assessment in lentil farming in Iran显示文摘In this study,an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)was applied to model yield and environmental emissions from lentil cultivation in Esfahan province of Iran.Data was gathered from lentil farmers using face to face questionnaire method during 2014–2015 cropping season.Life cycle assessment(LCA)was applied to investigate the environmental impact categories associated with lentil production.Based on the results,total energy input,energy output to input ratio and energy productivity were determined to be 32,970.10 MJ ha1,0.902 and 0.06 kg MJ1,respectively.The greatest amount of energy consumption was attributed to chemical fertilizer(42.76%).Environmental analysis indicated that the acidification potential was higher than other environmental impact categories in lentil production system.Also results showed that the production of agricultural machinery was the main hotspot in abiotic depletion,eutrophication,global warming,human toxicity,fresh water aquatic ecotoxicity,marine aquatic ecotoxicity and terrestrial ecotoxicity impact categories,while direct emissions associated with lentil cultivation was the main hotspot in acidification potential and photochemical oxidation potential.In addition,diesel fuel was the main hotspot only in ozone layer depletion.The ANN model with 9-10-6-11 structure was identified as the most appropriate network for predicting yield and related environmental impact categories of lentil cultivation.Overall,the results of sensitivity analysis revealed that farmyard manure had the greatest effect on the most of the environmental impacts,while machinery was the most affecting parameter on the yield of the crop. | Behzad Elhami Majid Khanali Asadollah Akram | 2017 | Information Processing in Agriculture2017,4,1: | 6 |
| 5 | Integrated use of GIS, remote sensing and multi-criteria decision analysis to assess ecological land suitability in multi-functional forestry显示文摘The Zagros forests are a treasure of valuable oak forests,but they have been severely degraded from long-term misuse.Geographic information systems(GIS)and multi-criteria decision analysis(MCDA) have been increasingly used to improve the management of vulnerable ecosystems to prevent further degradation and increase the sustainability of land use.This study presents a methodology to assess land suitability using remote sensing(RS) to obtain wall-to-wall data for the calculations,GIS to analyze the data,and MCDA to rank alternative land uses.The criteria and subcriteria affecting the suitability of land for different uses were identified and weighted using an analytic hierarchy process.Variables used as subcriteria were assessed using satellite data and other sources of information such as existing maps and field surveys.Numerical values for the subcriteria were classified,and each class was given a priority rating according to expert judgments.Based on the ratings and weights of the subcriteria,a priority map was created for each land use using the weighted linear combination method.The priority maps for different land uses were overlaid to obtain a preliminary land use map,which often indicated several simultaneous land uses for the same location.The preliminary map was further edited by removing unrealistic,mutually exclusive land-use combinations.The study tested and demonstrated the potential of integrating RS,GIS and MCDA techniques for solving complicated land allocation problems in forested regions using a scientifically sound and practical approach for efficient and sustainable allocation of forestland for different uses. | Naser Ahmadi Sani Sasan Babaie Kafaky Timo Pukkala Asadollah Mataji | 2016 | Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5: | 5 |
| 6 | Effects of different sources of carbohydrates on intake, digestibility, chewing, and performance of Holstein dairy cows显示文摘To investigate the effects of different sources of carbohydrates on intake,digestibility,chewing,and performance,nine lactating Holstein dairy cows(day in milk=100±21 d;body weight=645.7 ± 26.5 kg)were allotted to a 3×3Latin square design at three 23-d periods.The three treatments included 34.91%(B),18.87%(BC),and 18.86%(BB)barley that in treatment B was partially replaced with only corn or corn plus beet pulp in treatments BC and BB,respectively.The concentration of starch and neutral detergent soluble carbohydrate varied(22.2,20.2,and 14.5;13.6,15.9,and 20.1%of DM in treatments B,BC,and BB,respectively).Cows in treatment BB showed a higher DMI and improved digestibility of DM,NDF,and EE compared with treatments B or BC.Ruminal pH was higher in cows fed on BB(6.83) compared with those that received B or BC treatments(6.62 and 6.73,respectively).A lower proportion of propionate accompanied the higher pH in the BB group;however,a greater proportion of acetate and acetate:propionate ratio was observed compared with cows fed either on the B or BC diet.Moreover,cows fed on the BB diet showed the lowest ruminal passage rate and longest ruminal and total retention time.Eating time did not differ among treatments,rumination time was greater among cows fed on the BB diet compared with the others,whereas total chewing activity was greater than those fed on BC,but similar to those fed on B.The treatments showed no effect on milk yield.Partially replacing barley with corn or beet pulp resulted in an increase in milk fat and a lower protein concentration.Changing dietary NFC with that of a different degradability thus altered intake,chewing activity,ruminal environment,retention time or passage rate,and lactation performance.The results of this study showed that beet pulp with a higher NDF and a detergent-soluble carbohydrate or pectin established a more consistent ruminal mat than barley and corn,thus resulting in higher mean retention time and chewing activity,whereas no changes in 3.5%FCM and milk fat were observed. | Simin Poorkasegaran Asadollah Teimouri Yansari | 2014 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2014,5,2: | 5 |
| 7 | Provenance, Tectonic Setting and Geochemistry of Ahwaz Sandstone Member(Asmari Formation, Oligo-Miocene), Marun Oilfield, Zagros Basin, SW Iran显示文摘The Asmari Formation deposited in the Zagros foreland basin during the OligoceneMiocene. Lithologically, the Asmari Formation consists of limestone, dolomitic limestone, dolomite, argillaceous limestone, some anhydrite(Kalhur Member) and sandstones(Ahwaz Member). This study is based on the analysis of core samples from four subsurface sections(wells Mn-68, Mn-281, Mn-292 and Mn-312) in the Marun Oilfield in the Dezful embayment subzone in order to infer their provenance and tectonic setting of the Ahwaz Sandstone Member. Petrographical data reveal that the Ahwaz Sandstone comprises 97.5% quartz, 1.6% feldspar, and 0.9% rock fragments and all samples are classified as quartz arenites. The provenance and tectonic setting of the Ahwaz Sandstone have been assessed using integrated petrographic and geochemical studies. Petrographic analysis reveals that mono- and poly-crystalline quartz grains from metamorphic and igneous rocks of a craton interior setting were the dominant sources. Chemically, major and trace element concentrations in the rocks of the Ahwaz Sandstone indicate deposition in a passive continental margin setting. As indicated by the CIW′ index(chemical index of weathering) of the Ahwaz Sandstone(average value of 82) their source area underwent 'intense' recycling but 'moderate to high' degree of chemical weathering. | 8 | TiO_2 supported cobalt-manganese nano catalysts for light olefins production from syngas显示文摘Cobalt-manganese nano catalysts were prepared by sol-gel method. This research investigated the effects of different cobalt-manganese (Co/Mn = 1/1) loading, pH and calcination conditions on the catalytic performance of Co-Mn/TiO2 catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) in a fixed bed reactor. It was found that the catalyst containing 30wt%(Co-Mn)/TiO2 was an optimal catalyst for the conversion of synthesis gas to light olefins especially propylene. The activity and selectivity of optimal catalyst were studied under different operational conditions. The results showed that the best operational conditions were H2 /CO = 1/1 molar feed ratio at 250℃ and GHSV = 1300 h-1 under atmospheric pressure. | 9 | Environmental impact assessment of chicken meat production using life cycle assessment显示文摘The present study was conducted in Varamin city of Tehran province,Iran.The environmental impact of broiler production at farm gate and chicken meat production at slaughterhouse gate per mass-based functional unit in summer and winter seasons were evaluated using life-cycle assessment(LCA)methodology.Environmental impact categories including abiotic depletion potential,acidification potential,eutrophication potential,global warming potential,ozone depletion potential,human toxicity potential,freshwater and marine aquatic ecotoxicity potential,terrestrial ecotoxicity potential,and photochemical oxidation potential were assessed via CML 2 baseline 2000 v2.04/world,1990 method.According to the results,the global warming potential,acidification and eutrophication for production of 1 ton packed meat were estimated to be 2931.91 kg CO2-eq,41.75 kg SO2-eq and 14.69 kg PO4-eq,in summer and 5357.61 kg CO2-eq,61.9 kg SO2-eq and 19.34 kg PO4-eq in winter,respectively.The evaluations revealed that the broiler production stage was the main source of environmental impacts principally due to production and transportation of feed and on-farmemissions in the life cycle of chicken meat production.Broiler production farms,slaughterhouse and transportation account for 56%,31%and 13%of total energy consumption,respectively. | Talayeh Kalhor Ali Rajabipour Asadollah Akram Mohammad Sharifi | 2016 | Information Processing in Agriculture2016,3,4: | 2 |

| 11 | Facies Analysis and Sequence Stratigraphy of Silurian Carbonate Ramps in the Turan(Kopeh-Dagh) and Central Iran Plates with Emphasis on Gondwana Tectonic Event显示文摘Two sections from the Silurian deposits in the Central Iran Micro and Turan Plates were measured and sampled. These deposits are mostly composed of submarine volcanic rocks, skeletal and non-skeletal limestone, shale and sandstone that were deposited in low to high energy conditions(from tidal flat to deep open marine). According to gradual deepening trend, wide lateral distribution of facies as well as absence of resedimentation deposits, a depositional model of a homoclinal ramp was proposed for these deposits. Field observations and facies distribution indicate that, two depositional sequences were recognized in both sections. These sections show similarities in facies and depositional sequence during the Early Silurian in the area. | 12 | Circulation of Brucellaceae,Anaplasma and Ehrlichia spp.in borderline of Iran,Azerbaijan,and Armenia显示文摘Objective:To estimate the infection of ticks to Anaplasma,Ehrlichia,Babesia,Theileria,and Brucellaceae using molecular methods in borderline of Iran,Azerbaijan,and Armenia.Methods:Totally,2022 ticks were collected from different livestock.Then,species were diagnosed under stereomicroscope according to valid morphological keys.Tick DNA was extracted followed by PCR to detect Anaplasma,Ehrlichia,Theileria,Babesia and Brucellaceae infection in ticks.Results:A total of 498 males[24.62%(95%CI 22.76%-26.57%)],741 females[36.64%(95%CI 34.54%-38.79%)],782 nymphs[38.67%(95%CI 36.55%-40.84%)]and 1 larva[0.04%(95%CI 0.00%-0.28%)]were identified.Among identified samples,we found four genera including Hyalomma,Rhipicephalus,Haemaphysalis,and Dermacentor.Molecular assay revealed that the prevalence of ticks to Anaplasma or Ehrlichia,and Brucellaceae was 22.02%(95%CI 16.01%-29.06%)and 15.03%(95%CI 9.43%-22.26%),respectively.Phylogenetic analysis showed that the identified Anaplasma sp.had the most similarity with Anaplasma centrale,Anaplasma platys,Anaplasma camelii,and Anaplasma phagocytophilum,submitted in GenBank.Furthermore,the detected Ehrlichia sp.and Brucellaceae bacterium had the most similarity with Ehrlichia ruminantium and Mycoplana peli,respectively.However,no sign of the presence of Theileria and Babesia spp.was seen in the studied samples.Conclusions:Anaplasmosis,ehrlichiosis and brucellosis should be considered as important health threats in northwestern Iran and consistent monitoring on infection of ticks and livestock should be performed regularly. | Rahimeh Abdoli Hasan Bakhshi Sedigheh Kheirandish Faezeh Faghihi Asadollah Hosseini-Chegeni Mohammad Ali Oshaghi Zakkyeh Telmadarraiy Mohammad Mehdi Sedaghat | 2021 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,5: | 2 |
| 13 | Facies Analysis and Sequence Stratigraphy of the Qal'eh Dokhtar Formation(Middle-Upper Jurassic) in the West of Boshrouyeh, East Central Iran显示文摘The study area is located in the east Tabas Block in Central Iran. Facies analysis of the Qal'eh Dokhtar Formation(middle Callovian to late Oxfordian) was carried out on two stratigraphic sections and applied to depositional environment and sequence stratigraphy interpretation. This formation conformably overlies and underlies the marly-silty Baghamshah and the calcareous Esfandiar formations, respectively. Lateral and vertical facies changes documents low-to high energy environments, including tidal-flat, beach to intertidal, lagoon, barrier, and open-marine. According to these facies associations and absence of resedimentation deposits a depositional model of a mixed carbonate-siliciclastic ramp was proposed for the Qal'eh Dokhtar Formation. Seven third-order depositional sequences were identified in each two measured stratigraphic sections. Transgressive systems tracts(TSTs) show deepening upward trends, i.e. shallow water beach to intertidal and lagoonal facies, while highstand systems tracts(HST) show shallowing upward trends in which deep water facies are overlain by shallow water facies. All sequence boundaries(except at the base of the stratigraphic column) are of the no erosional(SB2) types. | 15 | EFFECT OF THE OPEN CRACK ON THE PULL-IN INSTABILITY OF AN ELECTROSTATICALLY ACTUATED MICRO-BEAM显示文摘In this paper, the effects of the open crack on the static and dynamic pull-in voltages of an electrostatically actuated fixed-fixed and cantilever micro-beam are investigated. By presenting a mathematical modeling, the governing static and dynamic equations are solved by SSLM and Galerkin-based Reduced Order Model, respectively. Then, each single-side open crack in the micro-beam is modeled by a massless rotational spring and the cracked mode shapes and corresponding natural frequencies are calculated by considering the boundary and patching conditions and using transfer matrix methods. Finally, the effects of the crack depth ratio, crack position and crack number on the pull-in voltage of the micro-beams are studied. It is shown that beside the residual stresses created in the machining process, the crack(s) can be initiated, growth and consequently change the pull-in voltage of the system by decreasing the natural frequencies. The results show that the crack position is effective beside the crack depth ratio in decreasing the pull-in voltage.
