1Behavior of noncircular tunnels excavated in stratified rock masses-Case of underground coal mines显示文摘The amount of tunnels excavated along stratified/sedimentary rock masses in Quangninh coal mine area,Vietnam, is gradually increasing. Rock mass in Quangninh is characterized by beddings between rock layers. The behavior of stratified rock masses surrounding the tunnels depends on both the intact rock and the beddings between rock layers. The main characteristics of stratified rock masses that need to be considered are their heterogeneity and anisotropy. Depending on the dip angle of rock layers, movements and failure zones developed surrounding the tunnels can be asymmetrical over the vertical axis of tunnel. This asymmetry causes adverse behaviors of the tunnel structures. The objective of this study is to highlight convergences and yielded zones developed in rock masses surrounding noncircular tunnels in Quangninh coal mine area using a finite element method. The presence of bedding joints is explicitly simulated. The numerical results indicated that with the increase in dip angle of bedding joints, the stress asymmetry over the tunnel vertical axis increases. It gradually leads to an asymmetry of the failure zone surrounding the tunnel. An increase of rock mass quality means a decrease of rock mass sensitivity to the discontinuities. 2A Neural-network-based Approach to Study the Energy-optimal Hovering Wing Kinematics of a Bionic Hawkmoth Model显示文摘This paper presents the application of an artificial neural network to develop an approach to determine and study the energy-optimal wing kinematics of a hovering bionic hawkmoth model.A three-layered artificial neural network is used for the rapid prediction of the unsteady aerodynamic force acting on the wings and the required power.When this artificial network is integrated into genetic and simplex algorithms,the running time of the optimization process is reduced considerably.The validity of this new approach is confirmed in a comparison with a conventional method using an aerodynamic model based on an extended unsteady vortex-lattice method for a sinu soidal wing kinematics problem.When studying the obtained results,it is found that actual hawkmoths do not hover under an energy-optimal condition.Instead,by tilting the stroke plane and lowering the wing positions,they can compromise and expend some energy to enhance their maneuverability and the stability of their flight.Anh Tuan Nguyen Ngoc Doan Tran Thanh Trung Vu Thanh Dong Pham Quoc Tru Vu Jae-Hung Han 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,5:2
3Ndfip1 represses cell proliferation by controlling Pten localization and signaling specificity显示文摘Pten controls a signaling axis that is implicated to regulate cell proliferation,growth,survival,migration,and metabolism.The molecular mechanisms underlying the specificity of Pten responses to such diverse cellular functions are currently poorly understood.Herewe report the control of Pten activity and signaling specificity during the cell cycle by Ndfip1 regulation of Pten spatial distribution.Genetic deletion of Ndfip1 resulted in a loss of Pten nuclear compartmentalization and increased cell proliferation,despite cytoplasmic Pten remaining active in regulating PI3K/Akt signaling.Cells lacking nuclear Pten were found to have dysregulated levels of Plk1 and cyclin D1 that could drive cell proliferation.In vivo,transgene expression of Ndfip1 in the developing brain increased nuclear Pten and lengthened the cell cycle of neuronal progenitors,resulting in microencephaly.Our results show that local partitioning of Pten from the cytoplasm to the nucleus represents a key mechanism contributing to the specificity of Pten signaling during cell proliferation.Jason Howitt Ley-Hian Low Ulrich Putz Anh Doan Jenny Lackovic Choo-Peng Goh Jenny Gunnersen John Silke Seong-Seng Tan 2015Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2015,7,2:1
4Using a Workflow Management Platform in Textual Data Management显示文摘The paper gives a brief introduction about the workflow management platform,Flowable,and how it is used for textual-data management.It is relatively new with its first release on 13 October,2016.Despite the short time on the market,it seems to be quickly well-noticed with 4.6 thousand stars on GitHub at the moment.The focus of our project is to build a platform for text analysis on a large scale by including many different text resources.Currently,we have successfully connected to four different text resources and obtained more than one million works.Some resources are dynamic,which means that they might add more data or modify their current data.Therefore,it is necessary to keep data,both the metadata and the raw data,from our side up to date with the resources.In addition,to comply with FAIR principles,each work is assigned a persistent identifier(PID)and indexed for searching purposes.In the last step,we perform some standard analyses on the data to enhance our search engine and to generate a knowledge graph.End-users can utilize our platform to search on our data or get access to the knowledge graph.Furthermore,they can submit their code for their analyses to the system.The code will be executed on a High-Performance Cluster(HPC)and users can receive the results later on.In this case,Flowable can take advantage of PIDs for digital objects identification and management to facilitate the communication with the HPC system.As one may already notice,the whole process can be expressed as a workflow.A workflow,including error handling and notification,has been created and deployed.Workflow execution can be triggered manually or after predefined time intervals.According to our evaluation,the Flowable platform proves to be powerful and flexible.Further usage of the platform is already planned or implemented for many of our projects.Triet Ho Anh Doan Sven Bingert Ramin Yahyapour 2022Data Intelligence2022,4,2:0
