Many studies have identified a large number of upregulated oncogenic mi RNAs and downregulated tumour-suppressor mi RNAs in this type of cancer. In this review, we provide an overview of the role of mi RNAs, pointing to their potential to be useful as diagnostic and/or prognostic biomarkers in gastric cancer. | 4 | Clinical scenarios for the use of S100β as a marker of hepatic encephalopathy显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the association between serum concentrations of S100β in patients with cirrhosis and the presence of low grade hepatic encephalopathy(HE).METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study. The population was categorized into four groups healthy subjects, cirrhosis without HE, cirrhosis with covert hepatic encephalopathy(CHE) and cirrhosis with overt HE. Kruskal-Wallis, Mann Whitney's U with Bonferroni adjustment Spearman correlations and area under the ROC were used as appropriate.RESULTS: A total of 61 subjects were included, 46 cirrhotic patients and 15 healthy volunteers. S100β values were different among all groups, and differences remained significant between groups 1 and 2(P < 0.001), and also between groups 2 and 3(P = 0.016), but not between groups 3 and 4. In cirrhotic patients with HE S100β was higher than in patients without HE [0.18(0.14-0.28) ng/m L vs 0.11(0.06-0.14) ng/m L, P < 0.001]. There was a close correlation between serum concentrations of S100β and psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score in patients with cirrhosis without HE compared to the patients with cirrhosis with CHE(r =-0.413, P = 0.019). ROC curve analysis yielded > 0.13 ng/m L as the best cutoff value of S100β for the diagnosis of HE(sensitivity 83.3%, specificity 63.6%).CONCLUSION: Serum concentrations of S100β are higher in patients with cirrhosis than in healthy volunteers, and are further increased in the presence of hepatic encephalopathy. | 5 | Four new species and a new record of Orchidinae(Orchidaceae:Orchideae)from China显示文摘Four new species of Orchidaceae from China,Heminium lijiangense,Peristylus fasciculatus,Platanthera milinensis,and Ponerorchis gongshanensis,together with a new country record,Peristylus tenuicallus,are described and illustrated based on morphological and/or phylogenetic analyses.Heminium lijiangense is closely related to H.elisabethae but differs from it by having the dorsal sepal ovate-orbicular and lip midlobe distinctly shorter than lateral lobes.P.fasciculatus is close to Peristylus tradescantifolius but is distinguished from it by having several fascicled and straight,root-like tubers(vs.one or two oblongoid tubers),old stems usually persistent,middle lobe of lip narrowly ligulate-lanceolate and half as long as the lateral lobes(vs.middle lobe deltoid,about a third as long as the lateral lobes or less),a raised callus at the base of each lateral lobe(vs.callus absent),spur gradually attenuate toward the apex(vs.spur clavate).Platanthera milinensis is similar to P.stenochila by sharing small green flowers and lip without a spur,but differs in having a creeping rhizome,a corymbose inflorescence,and a broadly ovate and slightly 3-lobed lip.Ponerochis gongshanensis is similar to P.faberi in its small flowers,but differs in having a linear leaf c.3 mm wide(vs.leaf 5-13 mm wide),in the lip having collar-like raised margins on the sides of the spur entrance,and a mid-lobe which is notched at the apex but not divided into two divergent lobules that are nearly as large as the lateral lobes,as in P.faberi.All the proposed species obtained high support in phylogenetic analysis as new species.The recently described genus Apetalanthe is reduced to synonymy of Ponerorchis and a new combination is made. | Dong-Liang Lin Ji-Dong Ya Andre Schuiteman Chong-Bo Ma Cheng Liu Xue-Lian Guo Shi-Si Chen Xi-Long Wang Zhi-Rong Zhang Wen-Bin Yu Xiao-Hua Jin | 2021 | Plant Diversity2021，43，5： | 4 |
