| 2 | Expression of Neuropeptide Y in Human Pituitary Adenoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE Neurppeptide Y (NPY) acts as a neuroendocrine modulator in the anterior pituitary, and NPY mRNA and NPY-immunoreactivity have been detected in normal human anterior pituitaries. However, only a few studies of NPY expression in human pituitary adenomas have been published. Our study was conducted to determine whether or not adenoma-tous cells express NPY, to investigate the relationship between NPY expression and the subtypes of pituitary adenoma and to explore the clinical significance of NPY. METHODS The study included tissues from 58 patients with pituitary adenomas who underwent surgery because of their clinical diagnosis. Using a highly specific anti-NPY polyclonal antibody, immunohistochemi-cal analysis was performed on the surgically removed pituitary adenomas. Six fresh specimens also were examined using immuno-electron microscopy. NPY was labeled with colloidal gold in order to study the distribution of NPY at the subcellular level. RESULTS The NPY expression level was significantly different among subgroups of pituitary adenomas (P<0.05). NPY was immuno-detected in 58.6% of all adenomas, in 91.7% of gonadotrophic adenomas and in 14.3% of prolactinomas. NPY expression was slightly lower in invasive pituitary adenomas compared to noninvasive adenomas, but the difference was not significant (t=1.81, P>0.05). Of particular interest was the finding that vascular endothelial cells showed positive NPY expression in some pituitary adenomas. Parts of strongly positive tumor cells were seen in channels formed without endothelial cells, but which contained some red blood cells in a formation similar to so-called vasculogenic mimicry. Im-muno-electron microscopy demonstrated that 4 of the 6 fresh specimens displayed positive NPY staining with a high density of gold particles located mainly in the secretory granulas. In addition, gold particles were sparsely detected in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and cell matrix. CONCLUSION NPY exists in pituitary adenomas and its expression level was related to the types and biological characteristics of the pituitary adenomas. NPY may have a depressive effect on tumor cellular proliferation in pituitary adenomas. | 9 | Prospect of HDR geothermal energy exploitation in Yangbajing,Tibet,China,and experimental investigation of granite under high temperature and high pressure显示文摘Hot dry rock(HDR) geothermal energy,almost inexhaustible green energy,was first put forward in the 1970s.The development and testing of HDR geothermal energy are well reported in USA,Japan,UK,France and other countries or regions.In this paper,the geological characters of Yangbajing basin were first analyzed,including the continental dynamic environments to form HDR geothermal fields in Tibet,the tectonic characteristics of south slope of Nyainqêntanglha and Dangxiong-Yangbajing basin,and the in-situ stresses based on the investigations conducted,and then the site-specific mining scheme of HDR geothermal resources was proposed.For the potential development of HDR geothermal energy,a series of experiments were conducted on large-scale granite samples,200 mm in diameter and 400 mm in length,at high temperature and high triaxial pressure for cutting fragmentation and borehole stability.For the borehole stability test,a hole of 40 mm in diameter and 400 mm in length was aforehand drilled in the prepared intact granite sample.The results indicate that the cutting velocity obviously increases with temperature when bit pressure is over a certain value,while the unit rock-breaking energy consumption decreases and the rock-breaking efficiency increases with temperature at the triaxial pressure of 100 MPa.The critical temperature and pressure that can result in intensive damage to granite are 400-500 ℃ and 100-125 MPa,respectively. | Yangsheng Zhao Zijun Feng Baoping Xi Jinchang Zhao Zhijun Wan Anchao Zhou | 2011 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,3: | 0 |
| 10 | Optimization of an axial coarse powder separator for low-density lignite based on the optimal seeking method显示文摘As a major equipment for thermal power plants,the main function of coarse powder separators is to separate particles into size groups according to particle diameter.With the rising coal prices,power plants are using more low-density lignite.Consequently,the original equipment does not operate under normal conditions.Therefore,to return the equipment to normal operating conditions,the isokinetic sampling method,computational fluid dynamics(CFD),and discrete phase model(DPM)based on the Euler-Lagrange method are applied in this research to analyze the effect of baffle shapes,baffle numbers,and centrifugal blades on the equipment performance index,like R90.The shape of the baffle plate was optimized and improved.Preferential method was applied to determine the optimal number of baffles to ensure normal working conditions.Results show that curved baffles can suppress the axial negative gradient field below themselves better than rectangular baffles.The curved baffles selected by the optimal seeking method make full use of the negative axial gradient field and provide the particles entering the separation zone at tangential velocity in advance with the addition of centrifugal blades.Thus,pre-separation can be realized.The R90 is 5 at the separator outlet and 95 at the powder return port,indicating that the output capacity of the separator returned to a reasonable operating performance. | Haixia Li Zhiheng Song Anchao Zhang Zhijun Sun Leying Jin | 2023 | Particuology2023,,8: | 0 |

| 12 | Volcanic Event Layers——A Marker Bed of Correlation of Coal Measures显示文摘Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian volcanic event deposits from two cross sections in Nanpiao, Liaoning Province, and the Daqing Mountains, Inner Mongolia, were examined by systematic rock and mineral identification, differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and trace element and rare earth element quantitative analysis. According to the results, twelve sequences of volcanic event deposits have been distinguished from bottom to top, including 34-39 volcanic event layers.
