| 2 | Impact of renewable energies on the operation and economicsituation of coal fired power stations: Actual situation of coalfired power stations in Germany显示文摘Due to the fluctuating character of the renew-able energy sources the demand of conventional powerplants for flexibility is increasing. In the recent years, inGermany there has been a fast rise of production capacityof renewable energies, especially from wind turbines,photovoltaic installations, and biomass plants. Theinstalled nominal power of wind turbines is actually(December 2016) 42 GW and of photovoltaic installations40 GW. The renewable electric energy production inGermany is about 190 TWh/a, which represents a share of33% of the yearly demand. The increased need forflexibility affects both the power gradients as well as theminimum load of conventional power plants. Due to thisflexibility behaviour, conventional power plants are facedwith problems concerning the durability of power plantcomponents, corrosion, more maintenance effort andconsequently the overall life expectancy. Another conse-quence of the increasing share of renewable energies is thedecreasing full load operating hours, especially of coalfired and gas power plants.
