2CFD Simulation of Pulsation Noise in a Small Centrifugal Compressor with Volute and Resonance Tube显示文摘The rotational frequency tone noise emitted from the automobile turbocharger is called the pulsation noise. The cause of the pulsation noise is not fully understood, but is considered to be due to some manufacturing errors, which is called the mistuning. The effects of the mistuning of the impeller blade on the noise field inside the flow passage of the compressor are numerically investigated. Here, the flow passage includes the volute and duct located downstream of the compressor impeller. Our numerical approach is found to successfully capture the wavelength of the pulsation noise at given rotational speeds by the comparison with the experiments. 3Exploring the hepatitis C virus genome using single molecule realtime sequencing显示文摘Single molecular real-time(SMRT)sequencing,also called third-generation sequencing,is a novel sequencing technique capable of generating extremely long contiguous sequence reads.While conventional short-read sequencing cannot evaluate the linkage of nucleotide substitutions distant from one another,SMRT sequencing can directly demonstrate linkage of nucleotide changes over a span of more than 20 kbp,and thus can be applied to directly examine the haplotypes of viruses or bacteria whose genome structures are changing in real time.In addition,an error correction method(circular consensus sequencing)has been established and repeated sequencing of a single-molecule DNA template can result in extremely high accuracy.The advantages of long read sequencing enable accurate determination of the haplotypes of individual viral clones.SMRT sequencing has been applied in various studies of viral genomes including determination of the full-length contiguous genome sequence of hepatitis C virus(HCV),targeted deep sequencing of the HCV NS5A gene,and assessment of heterogeneity among viral populations.Recently,the emergence of multi-drug resistant HCV viruses has become a significant clinical issue and has been also demonstrated using SMRT sequencing.In this review,we introduce the novel third-generation PacBio RSII/Sequel systems,compare them with conventional next-generation sequencers,and summarize previous studies in which SMRT sequencing technology has been applied for HCV genome analysis.We also refer to another long-read sequencing platform,nanopore sequencing technology,and discuss the advantages,limitations and future perspectives in using these thirdgeneration sequencers for HCV genome analysis.Haruhiko Takeda Taiki Yamashita Yoshihide Ueda Akihiro Sekine 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,32:2
4Acute liver failure caused by drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome associated with hyperferritinemia显示文摘Drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome(DIHS) is a severe reaction usually characterized by fever,rash,and multiorgan failure,occurring 2-6 wk after drug introduction.It is an immune-mediated reaction involving macrophage and T-lymphocyte activation and cytokine release.A 54-year-old woman was diagnosed with rheumatic arthritis and initiated salazosulfapyridine by mouth.About 10 d later,she had a high fever,skin rash and liver dysfunction.She was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with a drug eruption.She was treated with oral prednisolone 30 mg/d;however,she developed high fever again and her blood tests showed acute liver failure and cytopenia associated with hyperferritinemia.She was diagnosed with acute liver failure and hemophagocytosis caused by DIHS.She was transferred to the Department of Medicine and Bioregulatory Science,Kyushu University,where she was treated with arterial steroid injection therapy.Following this treatment,her liver function improved and serum ferritin immediately decreased.We hypothesized that an immune-mediated reaction in DIHS may have generated over-activation of macrophages and T-lymphocytes,followed by a cytokine storm that affected various organs.The measurement of serum ferritin might be a useful marker of the severity of DIHS.Masayuki Miyazaki Masatake Tanaka Akihiro Ueda Tsuyoshi Yoshimoto Masaki Kato Makoto Nakamuta Kazuhiro Kotoh Ryoichi Takayanagi 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,44:1

17Identification of QTLs for Yield and Associated Traits in F_(2) Population of Rice显示文摘Identification of quantitative trait loci(QTLs)controlling yield and yield-related traits in rice was performed in the F_(2) mapping population derived from parental rice genotypes DHMAS and K343.A total of 30 QTLs governing nine different traits were identified using the composite interval mapping(CIM)method.Four QTLs were mapped for number of tillers per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs),2 and 3;three QTLs for panicle number per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs)and 3;four QTLs for plant height on chromosomes 2,4,5 and 6;one QTL for spikelet density on chromosome 5;four QTLs for spikelet fertility percentage(SFP)on chromosomes 2,3 and 5(2 QTLs);two QTLs for grain length on chromosomes 1 and 8;three QTLs for grain width on chromosomes1,3 and 8;three QTLs for 1000-grain weight(TGW)on chromosomes 1,4 and 8 and six QTLs for yield per plant(YPP)on chromosomes 2(3 QTLs),4,6 and 8.Most of the QTLs were detected on chromosome 2,so further studies on chromosome 2 could help unlock some new chapters of QTL for this cross of rice variety.Identified QTLs elucidating high phenotypic variance can be used for marker-assisted selection(MAS)breeding.Further,the exploitation of information regarding molecular markers tightly linked to QTLs governing these traits will facilitate future crop improvement strategies in rice.Rohini Bhat Anil Kumar Singh Muntazir Mushtaq Romesh Kumar Salgotra Manmohan Sharma Basharat Ahmad Bhat Umer Basu Ibrahim Al-Ashkar Mohammad Anwar Hossain Akihiro Ueda Ayman El Sabagh 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,11:0
