1Identification of Hydrocarbon Potential of Talhar Shale: Member of Lower Goru Formation Using Well Logs Derived Parameters, Southern Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan显示文摘Using well logs data only, the evaluation of shale gas hydrocarbon potential of Talhar Shale Member of Lower Goru Formation has been a challenge in Southern Lower Indus Basin in Pakistan. Well logs data analysis is helpful to evaluate the gas potential of source shale rocks. We introduced and applied empirical and graphical method to fulfil this task and derived geochemical parameters from well logs data. The method mentioned is cheap and fast. Talhar Shale has kerogen type III and type II which are montmorillonite clay and have potential to produce oil and gas. Talhar Shale has better sorption property. Empirical formulas are used to derive parameters, using well logs of porosity, density and uranium. Porosity and volume of kerogen, calculated from density log, give average values of 11.8% and 11.4%. Average value of level of maturity index(LMI) derived from log is 0.54, which indicates that it is at the early stage of maturity. Vitrinite reflectance is between 0.5%–0.55% as calculated by graphical method and empirical formula. Talhar Shale is at onset of oil generation, with main products of oil and gas. It is a good potential source in the study area.Muhsan Ehsan Hanming Gu Malik Muhammad Akhtar Saiq Shakeel Abbasi Zaheen Ullah 2018Journal of Earth Science2018,29,3:4
2A systematic study on the role of SentiWordNet in opinion mining显示文摘Sentiment lexicons(SL)(aka lexical resources)are the repositories of one or several dictionaries that consist of known and precompiled sentiment terms. These lexicons play an important role in performing several different opinion mining tasks. The efficacy of the lexicon-based approaches in performing opinion mining(OM)tasks solely depends on selecting an appropriate opinion lexicon to analyze the text. Therefore, one has to explore the available sentiment lexicons and then select the most suitable resource.Among available resources,SentiWordNet(SWN)is the most widely used lexicon to perform tasks related to opinion mining. In SWN,each synset of WordNet is being assigned the three sentiment numerical scores;positive, negative and objective that are calculated using by a set of classifiers. In this paper,a detailed and comprehensive review of the work related to opinion mining using Senti-WordNet is provided in a very distinctive way. This survey will be useful for the researchers contributing to the field of opinion mining.Following features make our contribution worthwhile and unique among the reviews of similar kind:(i)our review classifies the existing literature with respect to opinion mining tasks and subtasks(ii)it covers a very different outlook of the opinion mining field by providing in-depth discussions of the existing works at different granularity levels(word, sentences, document, aspect, clause, and concept levels)(iii)this state-ofart review covers each article in the following dimensions:the designated task performed, granularity level of the task completed, results obtained, and feature dimensions, and(iv)lastly it concludes the summary of the related articles according to the granularity levels, publishing years, related tasks(or subtasks),and types of classifiers used.In the end, major challenges and tasks related to lexicon-based approaches towards opinion mining are also discussed.Mujtaba HUSNAIN Malik Muhammad Saad MISSEN Nadeem AKHTAR Mickael COUSTATY Shahzad MUMTAZ V.B.Surya PRASATH 2021Frontiers of Computer Science2021,15,4:0
3Comparative analysis of bacterial contamination in tap and groundwater: A case study on water quality of Quetta City, an arid zone in Pakistan显示文摘Water is an essential element on earth, which provides human a variety of services in domestic use, agriculture,or industries. However, some serious health risks of drinking water are associated with microbial contamination, particularly with fecal matter. Therefore, microbial quality assessment is considered to be a necessary component of water quality assessment. This study investigates microbial contamination of water distributary system around the city by comparing groundwater(GW)and tap water(TW)quality in Quetta city.31 GW samples and 31 TW samples were collected in the study area during the months of September,October, and November.Fecal coliform test was carried out in laboratory and their average total coliform contamination was computed. Results showed that the TW sample were all contaminated by coliform except for Chiltan town, hence are not considered suitable for drinking without any treatment according to WHO drinking water quality standards. The average coliform concentrations were 12 in Quetta main city,11.6 in Jinnah town,5.3 in Satallite town,10 in Shahbaz town and 5 in Brewery town(0/100 mL CFU)and the TW samples from the three towns were even more contaminated with E.coli.Whereas among the GW,average microbial concentrations were 1.8 in Quetta main city,2 in Satallite town,1.4 in Shahbaz town, and 0.4 in Chiltan town(0/100 mL CFU),respectively, which shows that the contamination is occurring within the water distributary pipeline system when the water flows through the pipelines. Moreover, this research will be valuable for researchers and administrative authorities to conduct elaborative studies, and develop new policies to prevent further deterioration of drinking water in the water distribution system by pathogenic microorganisms and ensure safe drinking water to the public of Quetta city.Khan Tanzeel Akhtar Malik Muhammad Malghani Gohram Akhtar Rabia 2022Journal of Groundwater Science and Engineering2022,10,2:0
