1Anatomical and chemical characteristics associated with lodging resistance in wheat显示文摘Anatomical and chemical characteristics of stems affect lodging in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars. Traits associated with lodging resistance, such as plant height, stem strength, culm wall thickness, pith diameter, and stem diameter, were extensively investigated in earlier studies. However, the solid stem trait was rarely considered. In this study, we measured a range of anatomical and chemical characteristics on solid and hollow stemmed wheat cultivars. Significant correlations were detected between resistance to lodging and several anatomical features, including width of mechanical tissue, weight of low internodes, and width of stem walls. Morphological features that gave the best indication of improved lodging resistance were increased stem width, width of mechanical tissue layer, and stem density. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that 99% of the variation in lodging resistance could be explained by the width of the mechanical tissue layer, suggesting that solid stemmed wheat has several anatomical features for increasing resistance to lodging. In addition, microsatellite markers GWM247 and GWM340 were linked to a single solid stem QTL on chromosome 3BL in a population derived from the cross Xinongshixin(solid stem)/Line 3159(hollow stem). 2Effect of wind field below unmanned helicopter on droplet deposition distribution of aerial spraying显示文摘Wind field is one of the important factors affecting the distribution characteristics of aerial spraying droplet deposition.In order to reveal the impact mechanism of droplet deposition distribution by the wind field below agricultural unmanned helicopter rotor,in this study,the wind field distribution below uniaxial single-rotor electric unmanned helicopter rotor was measured by using a wireless wind speed sensor network measurement system for unmanned helicopter.The effects of wind field in three directions(X,Y,Z)below the rotor on droplet deposition distribution were analyzed with the condition of aerial spraying droplet deposition in rice canopy,and the regression model was established via variance and regression analyses of experiment results.The results showed that,the wind field in Y direction had a significant effect on droplet deposition in effective spray area,the wind field in Z direction had an extremely significant effect on droplet deposition in effective spray area,and the corresponding significance(sig.)values were 0.011 and 0.000.Furthermore,the wind field in Z direction had a significant effect on the penetrability and uniformity of droplet deposition in effective spray area,the corresponding sig.values were 0.025 and 0.011 respectively.The wind speed in Y direction at the edge of effective spray area had a significant effect on droplet drift,the sig.value was 0.021.In addition,the correlation coefficient R of the regression model was 0.869 between droplet deposition in effective spray area and the wind speed in Y and Z directions,and 0.915 between the uniformity of droplet deposition in effective spray area and the maximum wind speed in Z direction.The result revealed the influencing mechanism of the wind field below the rotor of uniaxial single-rotor electric unmanned helicopter on the distribution of aerial spraying droplet deposition.The results can provide guidance for the actual production application of aerial spraying to reduce liquid drift and improve the utilization rate of pesticide.Chen Shengde Yubin Lan Li Jiyu Zhou Zhiyan Liu Aimin Mao Yuedong 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,3:25
3Genomic Distribution of Quantitative Trait Loci for Yield and Yield-related Traits in Common Wheat显示文摘A major objective of quantitative trait locus (QTL) studies is to find genes/markers that can be used in breeding programs via marker assisted selection (MAS).We surveyed the QTLs for yield and yieldrelated traits and their genomic distributions in common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in the available published reports.We then carried out a meta-QTL (MQTL) analysis to identify the major and consistent QTLs for these traits.In total,55 MQTLs were identified,of which 12 significant MQTLs were located on wheat chromosomes 1A,1B,2A,2D,3B,4A,4B,4D and 5A.Our study showed that the genetic control of yield and its components in common wheat involved the important genes such as Rht and Vrn.Furthermore,several significant MQTLs were found in the chromosomal regions corresponding to several rice genomic locations containing important QTLs for yield related traits.Our results demonstrate that meta-QTL analysis is a powerful tool for confirming the major and stable QTLs and refining their chromosomal positions in common wheat,which may be useful for improving the MAS efficiency of yield related traits.Li-Yi Zhang Dong-Cheng Liu Xiao-Li Guo Wen-Long Yang Jia-Zhu Sun Dao-Wen Wang Aimin Zhang 2010Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,11:11
4Pathologic complete response confirmed by surgical resection for liver metastases of gastrointestinal stromal tumor after treatment with imatinib mesylate显示文摘A 39-year-old male underwent distal gastrectomy for a high grade gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) . Computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) 107 mo after the operation,revealed a cystic mass(14 cm in diameter) and a solid mass(9 cm in diameter) in the right and left lobes of the liver,respectively. A biopsy specimen of the solid mass showed a liver metastasis of GIST. The patient received imatinib mesylate(IM) treatment,400 mg/day orally. Following the IM treatment for a period of 35 mo,the patient underwent partial hepatectomy(S4 + S5) . The effect of IM on the metastatic lesions was interpreted as pathologic complete response(CR) . 5Advances and development trends in eco-friendly pavements显示文摘The major contemporary in road pavement engineering is related to the creation of green and sustainable infrastructures,e.g.,reduction of environmental impacts,increase in traffic safety,and transportation efficiency,etc.This review presents the recent trends in research and the technical solutions developed so far to address these challenges.After the analysis of research status in the past decades,a novel technology system of eco-friendly pavements is proposed considering two solutions,materials modification and structure improvement.The construction of an eco-friendly pavement can be achieved thanks to several different technologies ensuring permeable,noise-reducing,self-luminous,and exhaust-decomposing properties as well as apporting lower heat absorbing and enhanced anti-/de-icing characteristics.A systematic review of these technologies is presented pivoting on four main aspects:technical principle,material and structural composition,performance evaluation,and engineering application.The current trend in road engineering is combining the pavement infrastructure with various eco-friendly functions,e.g.,water permeability,noise reduction,low heat absorption,exhaust gas decomposition,and anti-/de-icing.Finally,the review lists the drawbacks of the existing technologies,including high cost,single function,etc.,and depicts the future developing direction and architecture of the next generation of eco-friendly pavements in which the road infrastructure should have more environmentally friendly functions than the existing technology.Aimin Sha Zhuangzhuang Liu Wei Jiang Lin Qi Liqun Hu Wenxiu Jiao Diego Maria Barbieri 2021Journal of Road Engineering2021,1,1:9

8Characterization of the promoter of phosphate transporter TaPHT1.2 differentially expressed in wheat varieties显示文摘TaPHT1.2 is a functional,root predominantly expressed and low phosphate(Pi) inducible high-affinity Pi transporter in wheat,which is more abundant in the roots of P-efficient wheat genotypes(e.g.,Xiaoyan 54) than in P-inefficient genotypes(e.g.,Jing 411) under both Pi-deficient and Pi-sufficient conditions.To characterize TaPHT1.2 further,we genetically mapped a TaPHT1.2 transporter,TaPHT1.2-D1,on the long arm of chromosome 4D using a recombinant inbred line population derived from Xiaoyan 54 and Jing 411,and isolated a 1,302 bp fragment of the TaPHT1.2-D1 promoter(PrTaPHT1.2-D1) from Xiaoyan 54.TaPHT1.2-D1 shows collinearity with OsPHT1.2 that has previously been reported to mediate the translocation of Pi from roots to shoots.PrTaPHT1.2-D contains a number of Pi-starvation responsive elements,including P1BS,WRKY-binding W-box,and helix-loop-helix-binding elements.PrTaPHT1.2-D1 was then used to drive expression of β-glucuronidase(GUS) reporter gene in Arabidopsis through Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.Histochemical analysis of transgenic Arabidopsis plants showed that the reporter gene was specifically induced by Pi-starvation and predominantly expressed in the roots.As there is only one SNP between the TaPHT1.2-D1 promoters of Xiaoyan 54 and Jing 411,and this SNP does not exist within the Pi-starvation responsive elements,the differential expression of TaPHT1.2 in Xiaoyan 54 and Jing 411 may not be caused by this SNP.Jun Miao Jinghan Sun Dongcheng Liu Bin Li Aimin Zhang Zhensheng Li Yiping Tong 2009Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,8:8
9Recent gravity changes in China Mainland显示文摘Based on results of the mobile gravity measurements of the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China and Digital Earthquake Observation Network of China, this paper shows the pattern of temporal gravity changes in China mainland on a time scale of 2-3 years since 1998, and gives an analysis of the patterns. 10Characterization and adsorption behavior of a novel triolein-embedded activated carbon composite adsorbent显示文摘A novel triolein-embedded activated carbon composite adsorbent was developed. Experiments were car-ried out in areas such as the preparation method, the char-acterization of physicochemical properties, and the adsorp-tion behavior of the composite adsorbent in removing diel-drin from aqueous solution. Results suggested that the novel composite adsorbent was composed of the supporting acti-vated carbon and the surrounding triolein-embedded cellu-lose acetate membrane. The adsorbent was stable in water, for no triolein leakage was detected after soaking the ad-sorbent for five weeks. The adsorbent had good adsorption capability to dieldrin, which was indicated by a residual di-eldrin concentration of 0.204 μg·L?1. 11Isolation of the promoter of a cotton β-galactosidase gene (GhGal1) and its expression in transgenic tobacco plants显示文摘β-galactosidases (EC 3.2.1.23) constitute a widespread family of glycosyl hydrolases in plants and are thought to be involved in metabolism of cell wall polysaccharides. A cDNA of the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) β-galactosidase gene, designated GhGal1, has previously been identified and its transcripts are highly abundant at the elongation stage of the cotton fiber. To examine the temporal and spatial control of GhGal1 expression, a transcriptional fusion of the GhGal1 promoter region (1770 bp) with the β-glucuronidase (GUS) reporter gene was introduced into tobacco plants by the Agrobacterium infection method. The resulting transgenic plants showed higher GUS activity of fruit in the transgenic plants than that in the negative and positive controls. Histochemical localization of GUS activity demonstrated that the expression of the GUS gene could be found in the meristem zones of roots, cotyledons, vascular tissues, fruit and trichomes in transgenic tobacco plants. Additionally, se-quence analysis of the regulatory region also revealed several conserved motifs among which some were shared with previously reported fruit/seed-specific elements and the others were related with trichome expression. 14Analysis of Frequency Characteristics and Sensitivity of Compliant Mechanisms显示文摘Based on a modified pseudo-rigid-body model,the frequency characteristics and sensitivity of the large-deformation compliant mechanism are studied.Firstly,the pseudo-rigid-body model under the static and kinetic conditions is modified to enable the modified pseudo-rigid-body model to be more suitable for the dynamic analysis of the compliant mechanism.Subsequently,based on the modified pseudo-rigid-body model,the dynamic equations of the ordinary compliant four-bar mechanism are established using the analytical mechanics.Finally,in combination with the finite element analysis software ANSYS,the frequency characteristics and sensitivity of the compliant mechanism are analyzed by taking the compliant parallel-guiding mechanism and the compliant bistable mechanism as examples.From the simulation results,the dynamic characteristics of compliant mechanism are relatively sensitive to the structure size,section parameter,and characteristic parameter of material on mechanisms.The results could provide great theoretical significance and application values for the structural optimization of compliant mechanisms,the improvement of their dynamic properties and the expansion of their application range.LIU Shanzeng DAI Jiansheng LI Aimin SUN Zhaopeng FENG Shizhe CAO Guohua 2016Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2016,29,4:5

16Characterization of increased cuticular wax mutant and analysis of genes involved in wax biosynthesis in Dianthus spiculifolius显示文摘Cuticular wax formation on the surface of plant leaves is associated with drought-stress tolerance.The identification of wax biosynthesis-related genes will contribute to the genetic improvement of drought resistance in plants.In this study,we characterize a novel Dianthus spiculifolius mutant with increased cuticular wax.The mutant exhibited stronger drought resistance as indicated by less leaf wilting and death,higher leaf relative water content and water retention capacity,and slower water loss and chlorophyll extraction than did the wild type during drought treatment.In the mutant leaves,2730 upregulated and 2151 downregulated differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified by transcriptome sequencing.A wax biosynthesis pathway of the identified DEGs was significantly enriched.Finally,three key genes(DsCER1,DsMAH1,and DsWSD1)involved in wax biosynthesis were identified and verified by qPCR.These results suggest that differential expression of DEGs involved in wax biosynthesis may be associated with the increase in cuticular wax in the mutant.Taken together,our results help elucidate wax formation patterns in D.spiculifolius.Furthermore,the DEGs involved in wax biosynthesis identified here may be valuable genetic resources for improving plant stress tolerance through increased accumulation of cuticular wax.Aimin Zhou Enhui Liu Jiao Liu Shuang Feng Shufang Gong Jingang Wang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:4
17Efficacy of water fraction from Dioscorea cirrhosa on oxidative stress and apoptosis in H9c2 cardiomyocytes induced by H2O2显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of water fraction from Dioscorea cirrhosa(WF)on oxidative damage and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes induced by H2O2,and to study its mechanism.METHODS:Cell viability was measured by the MST assay kit.The content of malondialdehyde(MDA),release of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)and activity of catalase(CAT)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were detected by biochemical kit.The content of reactive oxygen species(ROS)was assessed by nonfluorescent probe 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescin diacetate(DCFH-DA).JC-1 was used to analyze the mitochondrial membrane potential(mtΔΨ)and Annexin-V-FITC/PI staining was applied to assess apoptosis of H9c2 by flow cytometry.Moreover,the expression of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),Bcl-2-associated X(Bax),caspase-3,caspase-9,cleaved-caspase-3 and cleaved-caspase-9 proteins was determined by western blot analysis.RESULTS:WF increased cell viability and decreased LDH leakage in H9c2 cells exposed to H2O2.WF treatment decreased ROS and MDA level,enhanced SOD and CAT activities,improved mtΔΨand inhibited apoptosis.Western blot analysis demonstrated that the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was increased and the expression cleaved-caspase-3,caspase-3,cleaved-caspase-9 and caspase-9 were decreased in group treated with WF.CONCLUSION:WF protects H9c2 myocardial cells on H2O2-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis by scavenging ROS,improving antioxidant capacity,protecting mitochondrial and regulating the proteins expression related to apoptosis.LIU Chunhua PAN Jie WANG Aimin LAN Yanyu LI Yongjun LU Yuan SUN Jia WANG Yonglin LIU Ting LU Dingyan YOU Jingrui 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,1:4
18Highway constructions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau:Challenge,research and practice显示文摘Highway constructions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP)face great challenges induced by the unique local environmental,geological,and engineering conditions.The large area of permafrost,great temperature variability,strong UV rays,and complex geological conditions are the major factors that adversely influence the longterm performance of pavement systems.Since 1960s,Chinese engineers and researchers have started conducting research on the QTP to enhance the performance and durability of pavement systems.The present paper provide a comprehensive review of challenge,research and practice of highway constructions on the QTP including the special environmental and geological conditions,history of highway constructions on the QTP,major challenges and the state-of-the-art technology of subgrade constructions on permafrost,developments of the pavement structures and materials,performance prediction and maintenance methods of pavement surfaces,and applications of the research achievements on the first expressway on the QTP(i.e.,Gongyu Expressway).Based on the comprehensive literature review,it can be found that(1)frost heave and thaw weakening induced subgrade disease and longitudinal cracks on the pavement surface are complex coupled water-thermal-load problems.Engineering solutions are focusing on active cooling and thermal insulation methods,which can help to reduce temperature variations in the subgrade and thus improving its stability,(2)the harsh environmental and construction conditions may reduce the early strength and induce premature damage of cement-treated base materials.Some field validations showed that geocell-reinforced or asphalt-treated flexible base materials can provide better long-term performance,(3)the large temperature variability and strong UV rays can significantly accelerate aging of asphalt binders and greatly reduce the service life of asphalt mixtures.Various binder modification methods were developed for improving their viscoelasticity and enhance the low-temperature cracking resistance of pavement surface materials but are still lack of field validation data and comparisons of their life cycle costs.Therefore,it is recommended that a demonstration research project build test sections to examine a range of pavement structures and materials,and compare their long-term performance and life cycle costs,which can serve as important reference for future highway constructions on the QTP.Aimin Sha Biao Ma Hainian Wang Liqun Hu Xuesong Mao Xilan Zhi Huaxin Chen Yu Liu Feng Ma Zhuangzhuang Liu Rui He Wei Si Xuhao Wang Cheng Li 2022Journal of Road Engineering2022,2,1:4
19Enhancing Genetic Gain through Genomic Selection: From Livestock to Plants显示文摘Although long-term genetic gain has been achieved through increasing use of modern breeding methods and technologies,the rate of genetic gain needs to be accelerated to meet humanity’s demand for agricultural products.In this regard,genomic selection(GS)has been considered most promising for genetic improvement of the complex traits controlled by many genes each with minor effects.Livestock scientists pioneered GS application largely due to livestock’s significantly higher individual values and the greater reduction in generation interval that can be achieved in GS.Large-scale application of GS in plants can be achieved by refining field management to improve heritability estimation and prediction accuracy and developing optimum GS models with the consideration of genotype-by-environment interaction and non-additive effects,along with significant cost reduction.Moreover,it would be more effective to integrate GS with other breeding tools and platforms for accelerating the breeding process and thereby further enhancing genetic gain.In addition,establishing an open-source breeding network and developing transdisciplinary approaches would be essential in enhancing breeding efficiency for small-and medium-sized enterprises and agricultural research systems in developing countries.New strategies centered on GS for enhancing genetic gain need to be developed.Yunbi Xu Xiaogang Liu Junjie Fu Hongwu Wang Jiankang Wang Changling Huang Boddupalli MPrasanna Michael SOlsen Guoying Wang Aimin Zhang 2020Plant Communications2020,1,1:4
20Adsorption of naphthalene onto a high-surface-area carbon from waste ion exchange resin显示文摘A high-surface-area carbon (KC-1) was prepared from waste polystyrene-based ion exchange resin by KOH activation and used for naphthalene adsorption. The carbon exhibited a good hydrophobic nature with developed porous structure, favoring the adsorption of organic compounds. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area and total pore volume of KC-1 were 3442.2 and 1.68 cm 3 /g, respectively, which can be compared with those of KOH-activated carbons prepared from other precursors. Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the adsorption of naphthalene onto KC-1. The equilibrium data were analyzed by the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Polanyi- Manes isotherms and agreed with the Polanyi-Manes Model. The adsorption of naphthalene depended greatly on the porosity of the carbon, and the dispersive interactions between naphthalene and carbon could be relatively weak. The pH variation in aqueous solution had little effect on the adsorption process. The equilibrium time for 0.04 g/L of carbon dose was around 5 hr. Different models were used to evaluate the kinetic data and the pseudo second-order model was suitable to describe the kinetic process of naphthalene adsorption onto KC-1. Regeneration of spent carbon could be carried out effectively by alcohol treatment.
