1Analysis of the effect of passive measures on the energy consumption and zero-energy prospects of residential buildings in Pakistan显示文摘Climate change can adversely impact the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of the buildings stock. The South Asian countries are particularly vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change specially in the form of rising temperatures and increasing frequency of heat waves. The passive building design measures can be useful in mitigating and adapting to the climate change by increasing energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In this study various passive climate change adaptation measures (PCAMs) have been used individually and in form of combinations in order to analyze their impact on the energy efficacy of residential buildings in Pakistan. It has been found that the natural ventilation and front green wall are the most efficient options for reducing the overall energy consumption. By implementation of these PCAMs, cooling demand can be decreased by 27.75% while heating demand can be reduced by 35%. Secondly, the prospect of net zero-energy building and reduced CO2 emissions are also studied. It has been shown that building can achieve net-zero energy on an annual basis at every orientation and it can attain the status of nearly zero-energy building on a monthly basis. 2Detecting mislabeling and identifying unique progeny in Acacia mapping population using SNP markers显示文摘Acacia hybrids offer a great potential for paper industry in Southeast Asia due to their fast growth and ability to grow on abandoned or marginal lands. Breeding Acacia hybrids with desirable traits can be achieved through marker assisted selection(MAS) breeding. To develop a MAS program requires development of linkage maps and QTL analysis. Two mapping populations were developed through interspecific hybridization for linkage mapping and QTL analysis. All seeds per pod were cultured initially to improve hybrid yield as quality and density of linkage mapping is affected by the size of the mapping population. Progenies from two mapping populations were field planted for phenotypic and genotypic evaluation at three locations in Malaysia,(1) Forest Research Institute Malaysia field station at Segamat, Johor,(2) Borneo Tree Seeds and Seedlings Supplies Sdn, Bhd.(BTS) field trial site at Bintulu, Sarawak, and(3) Asiaprima RCF field trial site at Lancang, Pahang. During field planting, mislabeling was reported at Segamat, Johor, and a similar problem was suspected for Bintulu, Sarawak. Early screening with two isozymes effectively selected hybrid progenies, and these hybrids were subsequently further confirmed by using species-specific SNPs. During field planting, clonal mislabeling was reported and later confirmed by using a small set of STMS markers. A large set of SNPs were also used to screen all ramets in both populations. A total of 65.36% mislabeled ramets were encountered in the wood density population and 60.34% in the fibre length mapping population. No interpopulation pollen contamination was detected because all ramets found their match within the same population in question.However, mislabeling was detected among ramets of the same population. Mislabeled individuals were identified and grouped as they originated from 93 pods for wood density and 53 pods for fibre length mapping populations.On average 2 meiotically unique seeds per pod(179 seeds/93 pods) for wood density and 3 meiotically unique seeds per pod(174 seeds/53 pods) for fibre length mapping population were found. A single step statistical method was used to evaluate the most informative set of SNPs that could subsequently be used for routine checks for mislabeling in multi-location field trials and for labelling superior clones to protect breeder's rights. A preliminary set of SNPs with a high degree of informativeness was selected for the mislabeling analysis in conjunction with an assignment test. Two subsets were successfully identified,i.e., 51 SNPs for wood density and 64 SNPs for fibre length mapping populations to identify all mislabeled ramets which had been previously identified. Mislabeling seems to be a common problem due to the complexity involved in the production of mapping populations. 4Application of Box-Behnken Design for Optimization of Different Pretreatment Conditions for Cellulase Production显示文摘Effects of dilute acid and acid steam pretreatments were inspected for cellulose production of Eucalyptus leaves through Box-Behenken design,a three variable factors for response surface methodology by Bacillus subtilus K^(-1)8.Maximum cellulose production performed in 250 mL erlenmeyer flask with submerged fermentation attained at 50℃,p H 5,140 r·min^(-1) for 24 h.Results showed the efficient cellulose production from acid steam pretreatment(being autoclaved at 15 Psi for 15 min)than acid pretreatment.The optimum condition for maximum carboxymethyl cellulas(CMCase)was 1.811 IU·mL^(-1)·min^(-1)(0.8%acid conc.,10 g biomass loading,6 h reaction time)and filter paper activity(FPase)was 2.255 IU·mL^(-1)·min^(-1)(1%acid conc.,10 g biomass loading,8 h reaction time).Whereas,the acid steam maximum CMCase activity recorded was 2.585 IU·mL^(-1)·min^(-1)(0.8%acid conc.,15 g substrate loading and 8 h reaction time)and the highest FPase activity was 2.055 IU·mL^(-1)·min^(-1)(0.8%conc.,10 g biomass,6 h reaction time then autoclaved).Results revealed that acid pretreated Eucalyptus leaves were better lignocellulosic biomass for cellulose production by submerged fermentation.Sidra Iqbal Muhammad Irfan Fouzia Tabassum Hafiz Abdullah Shakir Javed Iqbal Qazi 2017Journal of Northeast Agricultural University(English Edition)2017,24,3:1
5A Novel Hybrid Machine Learning Approach for Classification of Brain Tumor Images显示文摘Abnormal growth of brain tissues is the real cause of brain tumor.Strategy for the diagnosis of brain tumor at initial stages is one of the key step for saving the life of a patient.The manual segmentation of brain tumor magnetic resonance images(MRIs)takes time and results vary significantly in low-level features.To address this issue,we have proposed a ResNet-50 feature extractor depended on multilevel deep convolutional neural network(CNN)for reliable images segmentation by considering the low-level features of MRI.In this model,we have extracted features through ResNet-50 architecture and fed these feature maps to multi-level CNN model.To handle the classification process,we have collected a total number of 2043 MRI patients of normal,benign,and malignant tumor.Three model CNN,multi-level CNN,and ResNet-50 based multi-level CNN have been used for detection and classification of brain tumors.All the model results are calculated in terms of various numerical values identified as precision(P),recall(R),accuracy(Acc)and f1-score(F1-S).The obtained average results are much better as compared to already existing methods.This modified transfer learning architecture might help the radiologists and doctors as a better significant system for tumor diagnosis.Abdullah A.Asiri Amna Iqbal Javed Ferzund Tariq Ali Muhammad Aamir Khalaf A.Alshamrani Hassan A.Alshamrani Fawaz F.Alqahtani Muhammad Irfan Ali H.D.Alshehri 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:0
6A Lightweight Deep Learning-Based Model for Tomato Leaf Disease Classification显示文摘Tomato leaf diseases significantly impact crop production,necessitating early detection for sustainable farming.Deep Learning(DL)has recently shown excellent results in identifying and classifying tomato leaf diseases.However,current DL methods often require substantial computational resources,hindering their application on resource-constrained devices.We propose the Deep Tomato Detection Network(DTomatoDNet),a lightweight DL-based framework comprising 19 learnable layers for efficient tomato leaf disease classification to overcome this.The Convn kernels used in the proposed(DTomatoDNet)framework is 1×1,which reduces the number of parameters and helps in more detailed and descriptive feature extraction for classification.The proposed DTomatoDNet model is trained from scratch to determine the classification success rate.10,000 tomato leaf images(1000 images per class)from the publicly accessible dataset,covering one healthy category and nine disease categories,are utilized in training the proposed DTomatoDNet approach.More specifically,we classified tomato leaf images into Target Spot(TS),Early Blight(EB),Late Blight(LB),Bacterial Spot(BS),Leaf Mold(LM),Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus(YLCV),Septoria Leaf Spot(SLS),Spider Mites(SM),Tomato Mosaic Virus(MV),and Tomato Healthy(H).The proposed DTomatoDNet approach obtains a classification accuracy of 99.34%,demonstrating excellent accuracy in differentiating between tomato diseases.The model could be used on mobile platforms because it is lightweight and designed with fewer layers.Tomato farmers can utilize the proposed DTomatoDNet methodology to detect disease more quickly and easily once it has been integrated into mobile platforms by developing a mobile application.Naeem Ullah Javed Ali Khan Sultan Almakdi Mohammed S.Alshehri Mimonah Al Qathrady Eman Abdullah Aldakheel Doaa Sami Khafaga 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,12:0
