7Morphological and molecular characterization of fungus isolated from tropical bed bugs in Northern Peninsular Malaysia, Cimex hemipterus(Hemiptera: Cimicidae)显示文摘Objective:To investigate some morphological and molecular characteristics of fungal parasites isolated from wild tropical bed bug, Cimex hemipterus.Methods: A series of culture methods were used to obtain fungal isolates from i eld-collected bed bugs. Characteristics of the isolates such as colony appearance, mycelial texture and pigmentation were studied to explore their morphology. Isolates were also subjected to a PCRbased genotyping test.Results: There were noticeable dif erences in morphological characteristics among the four isolates. Conidial areas of one isolate were dark green, whereas those of the remaining colonies were olive-green, black or dark brown. Conidia of the dark green isolate were globose, while those of olive-green, black and dark brown isolates were globose to subglobose, globose to spherical and globose to subglobose/i nely roughened, respectively. 8Laboratory efficacy of mycoparasitic fungi(Aspergillus tubingensis and Trichoderma harzianum) against tropical bed bugs(Cimex hemipterus)(Hemiptera:Cimicidae)显示文摘Objective: To test the effectiveness of conidial spore formulations [Aspergillus tubingensis(A.tubingensis) and Trichoderma harzianum(T.harzianum)] against tropical bed bugs, Cimex hemipterus.Methods: Spore formulations were made from two fungal strains, T.harzianum and A.tubingensis.The bed bugs were exposed to the conidial spores placed soaked onto a fabric cloth for 1 h and the mortality counts were recorded daily until 14 days.Results: Mean survival times based on Kaplan–Meier survival analysis showed no significant differences between all the concentrations in both the fungal isolates:T.harzianum and A.tubingensis.However, the evaluation of both the isolates in terms of virulence resulted in low lethal hours in all the concentrations except for the high concentration of A.tubingensis(LT_(50)= 44.629 h) at the conidial exposure of 1 × 10~6 spores/mL.Rapid mortality of the bed bugs was observed from Day 6 to Day 12, ranging from 13% to 90% in all three concentrations of A.tubingensis.With reference to the T.harzianum exposure, the concentration of 1 × 10~4 spores/mL displayed a gradual increase in the percentage mortality of 90 on Day 14.Conclusions: Approaches to the bed bugs treatment should be explored in-depth using a natural biological agent like fungus especially A.tubingensis to reduce this pest population, in order to replace chemical methods.Zulaikha Zahran Nik Mohd Izham Mohamed Nor Hamady Dieng Tomomitsu Satho Abdul Hafiz Ab Majid 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2017,7,4:1

13Effect of iridium loading on HZSM-5 for isomerization of n-heptane显示文摘The effect of iridium loading on the properties and catalytic isomerization of n-heptane over Ir-HZSM-5 is studied. Ir-HZSM-5 was prepared by impregnation method and subjected to isomerization process in the presence of flowing hydrogen gas. XRD and BET studies show that the presence of iridium stabilizes the crystalline structure of HZSM-5, leading to more ordered framework structure and larger surface area. TGA and FTIR results substantiate that iridium species interacts with OH group on the surface of HZSM-5. Pyridine FT-IR study verifies the interaction between iridium and surface OH group slightly increased the Bro¨nsted and Lewis acid sites without changing the lattice structure of HZSM-5. 15Synthesis of novel magneto-hybrid polyoxometalate composite membrane with simultaneous photocatalytic self-cleaning and antifouling functionalities显示文摘Membrane technology is ideal for removing aqueous humic acid,but humic acid deposits cause membrane fouling,a significant challenge that limits its application.Herein,this work proposed an alternative approach to the controllably magnetically induced magnetohybrid polyoxometalate(magneto-HPOM)nanocomposite migration toward the polyethersulfone(PES)membrane surface under a magnetic field to enhance the self-cleaning and antifouling functionalities of the membrane.Before incorporating magneto-HPOM nanocomposite into the PES casting solution,functionalized magnetite nanoparticles(F-MNP)were first coated with HPOM photocatalyst to fabricate a magneto-HPOM-PES membrane.It was shown that the apparent impacts of this novel magneto-HPOM-PES membrane on the hydrophilic behavior and photocatalytic properties of the magneto-HPOM nanocomposite improve the hydrophilicity,separation performance,antifouling and self-cleaning properties of the membrane compared with neat PES membrane.Furthermore,after exposure to ultraviolet light,the magneto-HPOM-PES membrane can be recovered after three cycles with a flux recovery ratio of 107.95%,100.06%,and 95.56%,which is attributed to the temporal super hydrophilicity effect.Meanwhile,the magneto-HPOM-PES membrane could efficiently maintain 100%humic acid rejection for the first and second cycles and 99.81%for the third cycle.This study revealed a novel approach to fabricating membranes with high antifouling and self-cleaning properties for water treatment.Nee Nee Tan Qi Hwa Ng Siti Kartini Enche Ab Rahim Abdul Latif Ahmad Peng Yong Hoo Thiam Leng Chew 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,10:0
16臭虫击倒抗性基因突变检测及抗性测定显示文摘近20多年,臭虫(Cimex spp.)在世界范围内成为常见的卫生害虫,其防治主要采用化学防治,但很多种群发现击倒抗性(Knockdown resistance gene,kdr)基因突变的存在以及抗药性。监测kdr的发生频率以及不同种群对农药的抗性对臭虫有效防治很重要,但我国对臭虫种群的抗药性报道很少。本试验采用点滴法测定了1个温带臭虫Cimex lectularius野外种群对氯虫苯甲酰胺、呋虫胺、吡虫啉、噻虫嗪和高效氯氰菊酯等5种药剂的毒性及抗性水平,使用区分剂量快速鉴定抗性方法对2个温带臭虫和2个热带臭虫Cimex hemipterus种群对高效氯氰菊酯的抗性水平进行了检测,此外用PCR方法检测8个臭虫地理种群(1个温带臭虫实验室种群,1个温带臭虫野外种群和6个热带臭虫野外种群)174个个体的kdr突变频率。点滴法结果表明,5种杀虫剂对温带臭虫的毒性是吡虫啉和呋虫胺>噻虫嗪>氯虫苯甲酰胺和高效氯氰菊酯,测试的野外温带臭虫种群仅对噻虫嗪无明显抗性。热带臭虫2个野外种群对高效氯氰菊酯的抗性均远高于温带臭虫。在温带臭虫的实验室种群中未检测到突变,在野外种群中检测到了V419L和L925I突变,可分为2种基因型类型(A:无突变位点;B:同时有L925I和V419L),而在热带臭虫的6个种群检测到M918I和L1014F突变,只有1种基因型类型,即M918I和L1014F双位点突变。温带臭虫1个野外种群及热带臭虫6个野外种群kdr突变的存在与臭虫对高效氯氰菊酯敏感密切关联。基于kdr基因突变检测结果推测我国臭虫种群广泛存在对拟除虫菊酯的抗性。李婷 曹玉峰 王常禄 徐业 李伟军 林莉 Abdul Hafiz Ab Majid 王松灌 王建国 2023环境昆虫学报2023,45,3:0
17Negative effect of Ni on PtHY in n-pentane isomerization evidenced by IR and ESR studies显示文摘Ni/PtHY with different Ni loadings was prepared by impregnating HY with hexachloroplatinic acid solution and Ni2+/N,N-dimethylformamide solution. An increase in the Ni loading decreased the crystallinity, specific surface area and meso-micropores of the catalysts. Ni interacted with hydroxyl groups to produce IR absorption bands at 3740-3500 cm-1. Increasing Ni loadings resulted in a decrease in the intensities of the broad bands at 3730-3500 cm-1 and the sharp band at 3740 cm-1 with simultaneous development of new absorbance band at 3700 cm-1 that was attributed to (-OH)Ni. The acidity of the samples did not significantly change with Ni loadings up to 1.0 wt%, which indicated that Ni mostly interacts with non-acidic silanol groups (terminal- and structural-defect OH groups). The presence of Ni decreased the activity of PtHY toward the isomerization of n-pentane because of a decrease in the number of active protonic-acid sites that formed from molecular hydrogen. IR and ESR studies confirmed that Pt facilitated the formation of protonic-acid sites from molecular hydrogen, whereas Ni, even when combined with Pt, didn't exhibit such ability. 18Phytocompounds of Anonna muricata leaves extract and cytotoxic effects on breast cancer cells显示文摘Objective: To identify the phytochemical compounds from Annona muricata(A. muricata) and to determine their in vitro anti-proliferative activities against breast cancer cells, MCF7 and MDA-MB-231. Methods: A. muricata leaves were successively extracted by soxhlet method using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol, and decocted with water. Each extract was analysed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GCMS) and characterized with Wiley and NIST library searches. Anti-proliferative activity of each extract was evaluated on MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells using MTT assay. Results: The GCMS analysis of different solvent extracts of A. muricata leaves showed presence of different chemical groups of compounds such as steroids, terpenoids, phenolic compounds, sugars, sugars alcohol and others including vitamin E. Ethyl acetate leaves extract exhibited the lowest IC_(50) value on the MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell and n-hexane leaves extract showed the the lowest IC_(50) value on the MCF-7 breast cancer cell. Conclusion: Steroids and phenolic compounds were the main phytocompound groups identified from all A. muricata leaves extracts. 19Subspace Clustering in High-Dimensional Data Streams:A Systematic Literature Review显示文摘Clustering high dimensional data is challenging as data dimensionality increases the distance between data points,resulting in sparse regions that degrade clustering performance.Subspace clustering is a common approach for processing high-dimensional data by finding relevant features for each cluster in the data space.Subspace clustering methods extend traditional clustering to account for the constraints imposed by data streams.Data streams are not only high-dimensional,but also unbounded and evolving.This necessitates the development of subspace clustering algorithms that can handle high dimensionality and adapt to the unique characteristics of data streams.Although many articles have contributed to the literature review on data stream clustering,there is currently no specific review on subspace clustering algorithms in high-dimensional data streams.Therefore,this article aims to systematically review the existing literature on subspace clustering of data streams in high-dimensional streaming environments.The review follows a systematic methodological approach and includes 18 articles for the final analysis.The analysis focused on two research questions related to the general clustering process and dealing with the unbounded and evolving characteristics of data streams.The main findings relate to six elements:clustering process,cluster search,subspace search,synopsis structure,cluster maintenance,and evaluation measures.Most algorithms use a two-phase clustering approach consisting of an initialization stage,a refinement stage,a cluster maintenance stage,and a final clustering stage.The density-based top-down subspace clustering approach is more widely used than the others because it is able to distinguish true clusters and outliers using projected microclusters.Most algorithms implicitly adapt to the evolving nature of the data stream by using a time fading function that is sensitive to outliers.Future work can focus on the clustering framework,parameter optimization,subspace search techniques,memory-efficient synopsis structures,explicit cluster change detection,and intrinsic performance metrics.This article can serve as a guide for researchers interested in high-dimensional subspace clustering methods for data streams.Nur Laila Ab Ghani Izzatdin Abdul Aziz Said Jadid AbdulKadir 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,5:0
