New discrete element models for elastoplastic problems

New types of connectivelinks between elements are proposed, the inter-elementparameters are theoretically determined based onthe principle of energy equivalence and a yield criterion anda flow rule for DEM are given for describing nonlinear behaviorof materials. Moreover, a numerical scheme, which canbe applied to modeling the behavior of a continuum as wellas the transformation from a continuum to a discontinuum,is obtained by introducing a fracture criterion and a contactmodel into the DEM. The elastoplastic stress wave propagationsand the tensile failure process of a steel plate aresimulated, and the numerical results agree well with thoseobtained from the finite element method (FEM) and correspondingexperiment, and thus the accuracy and efficiencyof the DEM scheme are demonstrated. 关 键 词:弹塑性问题 离散单元法 元模型 非线性行为 固体材料 塑性行为 结缔组织 数值方法
