| 2 | Adenoviral gene therapy in gastric cancer: A review显示文摘Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. With current therapeutic approaches the prognosis of gastric cancer is very poor, as gastric cancer accounts for the second most common cause of death in cancer related deaths. Gastric cancer like almost all other cancers has a molecular genetic basis which relies on disruption in normal cellular regulatory mechanisms regarding cell growth, apoptosis and cell division. Thus novel therapeutic approaches such as gene therapy promise to become the alternative choice of treatment in gastric cancer. In gene therapy, suicide genes, tumor suppressor genes and anti-angiogenesis genes among many others are introduced to cancer cells via vectors. Some of the vectors widely used in gene therapy are Adenoviral vectors. | 3 | Application of a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process to the prediction of vibration during rock sawing显示文摘A new predictive model for evaluating the vibration of a sawing machine was developed using a new rock classification system. The predictors are machine parameters and a rock sawability index. The new rock classification system includes four major parameters of the rock: uniaxial compressive strength, abrasiv- ity index, mean Moh's hardness, and Young's modulus. The FAHP approach was used when determining the weights of these parameters by six decision makers. Two groups of carbonate rocks were sawn using a fully-instrumented laboratory sawing rig at different feed rates and depths of cut. During the sawing trials system vibration was monitored as a measure of saw performance. Then, a new statistical model was obtained by multiple regression on the machining parameters and the rock sawability index. | 5 | Risk factors of gastroesophageal reflux disease in Shiraz,southern Iran显示文摘AIM: To determine the prevalence and symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in a healthy general population in relation to demographic,lifestyle and health-seeking behaviors in Shiraz,southern Iran. METHODS: A total of 1978 subjects aged > 35 years who referred to Gastroenterohepatology Research Center and who completed a questionnaire consisting of 27 questions for GERD in relation to demographic,lifestyle and health-seeking behaviors were included in this study for a period of five months. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were determined. RESULTS: The prevalence of GERD was 15.4%,which was higher in females (17.3%),in rural areas (19.8%),and in illiterate subjects (21.5%) and those with a mean age of 50.25 years. The prevalence was significantly lower in subjects having fried food (14.8%),and fruit and vegetables (14.6%). More symptoms were noticed in subjects consuming pickles (22.1%),taking aspirin (21%) and in subjects with psychological distresses (27.2%) and headaches (22%). The correlation was statistically significant between GERD and halitosis (18.3%),dyspepsia (30.6%),anxiety (19.5%),nightmares (23.9%) and restlessness (18.5%). Their health seeking behavior showed that there was a significant restriction of diet (20%),consumption of herbal medicine (19%),using over-the-counter drugs (29.9%) and consulting with physicians (24.8%). | 6 | Low-temperature electrochemical synthesis and characterization of ultrafine Y(OH)_3 and Y_2O_3 nanoparticles显示文摘Ultrafine Y(OH)3 nanoparticles were successfully deposited from an additive-free 0.005 mol/L YCl3 low-temperature bath on the steel cathode at the current density of 0.5 mA/cm2 and bath temperature of 10 oC. Heat treatment of the prepared Y(OH)3 nanoparticles at 600 oC in air led to the formation of Y2O3 nanoparticles. Thermal behavior and phase transformation during the heat treatment of Y(OH)3 were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogramimetric analysis (TGA). The morphologies, crystal structures and compositions of the prepared materials were examined by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) as well as X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. The results showed that the prepared Y(OH)3 nanoparticles was essentially amorphous and composed of well dispersed ultrafine particles with size of 4 nm. After heat treatment, the obtained oxide product was well crystallized cubic phase of Y2O3 nanoparticles with the grain size of around 5 nm. | 10 | Performance of beacon safety message dissemination in Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs)显示文摘Currently, there is a growing belief that putting an IEEE 802.11-like radio into road vehicles can help the drivers to travel more safely. Message dissemination protocols are primordial for safety vehicular applications. There are two types of safety messages which may be exchanged between vehicles: alarm and beacon. In this paper we investigate the feasibility of deploying safety applications based on beacon message dissemination through extensive simulation study and pay special attention to the safety requirements. Vehicles are supposed to issue these messages periodically to announce to other vehicles their current situation and use received messages for preventing possible unsafe situations. We evaluate the performance of a single-hop dissemination protocol while taking into account the quality of service (QoS) metrics like delivery rate and delay. We realize that reliability is the main concern in beacon message dissemination. Thus, a new metric named effective range is defined which gives us more accurate facility for evaluating QoS in safety applications specifically. Then, in order to improve the performance, the effects of three parameters including vehicle's transmission range, message transmission's interval time and message payload size are studied. Due to special characteristics of the safety applications, we model the relationship between communication-level QoS and application-level QoS and evaluate them for different classes of safety applications. | 11 | Facile synthesis, morphology and structure of Dy_2O_3 nanoparticles through electrochemical precipitation显示文摘The aim of this research was to introduce a new, facile and simple method for synthesis of Dy_2O_3 nanostructures at room temperature. For the first time,galvanostatic electrodeposition was used to synthesize Dy_2O_3 particles, and the influence of the current density on the structure and morphology of the product was studied.The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET). The results show that the current density has little effect on the chemical composition but great effect on the structure and morphology of the samples. The average size of the particles decreases as the applied current density increases. The grain size of asprepared samples decreases from 500 to 70 nm when the current density increases from 0.5 to 6.0 mA·cm^(-2). To obtain oxide product, the as-prepared samples were heattreated at 1,000 °C. The results show that the heat-treated samples have smaller particles. The XRD results show that the similar patterns are observed in the samples synthesized at different current densities, and the only difference from the JCPDS card is the ratio of peak intensities. | 17 | Reliability-based robust multi-obj ective optimization of a 5-DOF vehicle vibration model subjected to random road profiles显示文摘Ride and handling are two paramount factors in design and development of vehicle suspension systems.Conflicting trends in ride and handling characteristics propel engineers toward employing multi-objective optimization methods capable of providing the best trade-off designs compromising both criteria simultaneously.Although many studies have been performed on multi-objective optimization of vehicle suspension system,only a few of them have used probabilistic approaches considering effects of uncertainties in the design.However,it has been proved that optimum point obtained from deterministic optimization without taking into account the effects of uncertainties may lead to high-risk points instead of optimum ones.In this work,reliability-based robust multi-objective optimization of a 5 degree of freedom(5-DOF) vehicle suspension system is performed using method of non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ) in conjunction with Monte Carlo simulation(MCS) to obtain best designs considering both comfort and handling.Road profile is modeled as a random function using power spectral density(PSD) which is in better accordance with reality.To accommodate the robust approach,the variance of all objective functions is also considered to be minimized.Also,to take into account the reliability criterion,a reliability-based constraint is considered in the optimization.A deterministic optimization has also been performed to compare the results with probabilistic study and some other deterministic studies in the literature.In addition,sensitivity analysis has been performed to reveal the effects of different design variables on objective functions.To introduce the best trade-off points from the obtained Pareto fronts,TOPSIS method has been employed.Results show that optimum design point obtained from probabilistic optimization in this work provides better performance while demonstrating very good reliability and robustness.However,other optimum points from deterministic optimizations violate the regarded constraints in the presence of uncertainties. | Abolfazl Khalkhali Morteza Sarmadi Sina Yousefi | 2017 | Journal of Central South University2017,24,1: | 2 |
