1Geomatics for smart cities-concept,key techniques,and applications显示文摘The progressive transition from digital to smart cities has become a reality in recent years.Studies on the fundamental concept of smart cities,along with their supporting techniques,have attracted unprecedented attention.This study first discusses the concept of smart cities,where it is pointed out that the real city and the digital city can be integrated into a smart city by using ubiquitous sensor networks(USN)or the Internet of Things.More intelligent services for city management and public services can be provided in smart cities through massive and complex calculation,analysis,and data mining on cloud computing platforms.A smart city’s representative characteristics are summarized here to demonstrate that smart cities are superior for offering technical securities and intelligent services.Smart municipal supervision,smart transportation,smart environment monitoring,and smart tourism are used as examples to support the discussion.LI Deren SHAN Jie SHAO Zhenfeng ZHOU Xiran YAO Yuan 2013Geo-Spatial Information Science2013,16,1:22
2Imputation from SNP chip to sequence: a case study in a Chinese indigenous chicken population显示文摘Background: Genome-wide association studies and genomic predictions are thought to be optimized by using whole-genome sequence(WGS) data. However, sequencing thousands of individuals of interest is expensive.Imputation from SNP panels to WGS data is an attractive and less expensive approach to obtain WGS data. The aims of this study were to investigate the accuracy of imputation and to provide insight into the design and execution of genotype imputation.Results: We genotyped 450 chickens with a 600 K SNP array, and sequenced 24 key individuals by whole genome re-sequencing. Accuracy of imputation from putative 60 K and 600 K array data to WGS data was 0.620 and 0.812 for Beagle, and 0.810 and 0.914 for FImpute, respectively. By increasing the sequencing cost from 24 X to 144 X, the imputation accuracy increased from 0.525 to 0.698 for Beagle and from 0.654 to 0.823 for FImpute. With fixed sequence depth(12 X), increasing the number of sequenced animals from 1 to 24, improved accuracy from 0.421 to0.897 for FImpute and from 0.396 to 0.777 for Beagle. Using optimally selected key individuals resulted in a higher imputation accuracy compared with using randomly selected individuals as a reference population for resequencing. With fixed reference population size(24), imputation accuracy increased from 0.654 to 0.875 for FImpute and from 0.512 to 0.762 for Beagle as the sequencing depth increased from 1 X to 12 X. With a given total cost of genotyping, accuracy increased with the size of the reference population for FImpute, but the pattern was not valid for Beagle, which showed the highest accuracy at six fold coverage for the scenarios used in this study.Conclusions: In conclusion, we comprehensively investigated the impacts of several key factors on genotype imputation. Generally, increasing sequencing cost gave a higher imputation accuracy. But with a fixed sequencing cost, the optimal imputation enhance the performance of WGP and GWAS. An optimal imputation strategy should take size of reference population, imputation algorithms, marker density, and population structure of the target population and methods to select key individuals into consideration comprehensively. 3The Difference of Capital Input and Productivity in Service Industries: Based on Four Stages Bootstrap-DEA Model显示文摘Based on the concept of productive capital stock, this paper estimated capital input by three asset types of China’s 36 service industries in 2003–2015, and compared with the results of wealth capital stock. This study found that the wealth capital stock method underestimates the actual capital input in each sector in varying degrees, and it may interference the accuracy of productivity evaluation in sectors. According to the new estimation results of capital input, this paper further applied four stages bootstrap-DEA method to estimate industrial productivity, and calculated its confidence intervals. 4Au nanowires with high aspect ratio and atomic shell of Pt-Ru alloy for enhanced methanol oxidation reaction显示文摘The methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)is the limiting half-reaction in direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC).Although Pt is the most active single-metal electrocatalyst for MOR,it is hampered by high cost and CO poisoning.Constructing a Pt or Ru monolayer on a second metal substrate by means of galvanic replacement of underpotentially deposited(UPD)Cu monolayer has been shown as an efficient catalyst design strategy for the electrocatalysis of MOR because of the presumed 100%utilization of atoms and resistance to CO poisoning.Herein,we prepared one-dimensional surface-alloyed electrocatalyst from predominantly(111)faceted Au nanowires with high aspect ratio as the substrate of under-potential deposition.The electrocatalyst comprises a core of the Au nanowire and a shell of catalytically active Pt coated by Ru.Coverage-dependent electro-catalytic activity and stability is demonstrated on the Pt/Ru submonolayers on Au wires for MOR.Among all these catalysts,Au@Pt_(ML)@Ru_(ML)exhibits the best electrocatalytic activity and poisoning tolerance to CO.This presents a viable method for the rational catalyst design for achieving high noble-metal utilization efficiency and high catalytic performance.Xiran Zhu Zheng Hu Ming Huang Yuxin Zhao Jianqiang Qu Shi Hu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,6:3
5Cucurbit[10]uril-based chemistry显示文摘Cucurbit[n]urils(CB[n]s,n = 5-8,10,13-15) have been proven to be an interesting macrocyclic family with their distinctive molecular recognition properties and fascinating applications in fields such as catalysis,supramolecular materials, drug delivery and biological systems. With the biggest cavity in the CB[n]s family, CB[10] shows its unique molecular recognition properties that are rather distinctive from other CB[n]s. In this review, we summarize the progresses in CB[10]-based chemistry since CB[10] was first reported as CB[10] CB[5] complex in 2001. 7Associated risk factors in the early stage of diabetic retinopathy显示文摘Background:To investigate the retinal capillary density(RCD)of the macula using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCT-A)in type 2 diabetic patients and to further determine the association with risk factors.Methods:A total of 212 eyes from 212 subjects were recruited;subjects included diabetics with no retinopathy(NDR,n=90 eyes),diabetics with mild retinopathy DR(MDR,n=36 eyes),and healthy participants(Control,n=86 eyes).All participants underwent OCT-A scanning.RCD was quantified by superficial and deep retinal capillary layers(SRCL and DRCL)from OCT-A images.Results:RCD in SRCL and DRCL was lower in NDR(P<0.001)as well as in MDR(P<0.001)when compared with control eyes.Diabetic patients were subdivided according to individual risk factors,complications related to diabetes,and hyperglycemia.Diabetic patients showed lower RCD in both the SRCL and DRCL when compared with healthy controls.Diabetics with age>55y,HbA1c>7%had significantly reduced DRCL(P<0.05)when compared with the other group of diabetics(age<55y,HbA1c<7%).Diabetics with a blood urea nitrogen(BUN)>8.2 mmol/L had significantly reduced SRCL and DRCL when compared to the other group of diabetics.Conclusions:Risk factors including older age,higher level of HbA1c,LDL-C and BUN,were associated with lower RCDs found in type 2 diabetic patients with and without mild DR by OCT-A.The impairment of retinal capillary by OCT-A may play a key role in the early monitoring of management in diabetes.Fan Tan Qi Chen Xiran Zhuang Chaoming Wu Yanying Qian Yuanyuan Wang Jianhua Wang Fan Lu Meixiao Shen Yingzi Li 2019Eye and Vision2019,6,1:2
8Record power and efficient mid-infrared supercontinuum generation in germania fiber with high stability显示文摘We report the demonstration of a mid-infrared(MIR)supercontinuum(SC)laser delivering a record-breaking average output power of more than 40 W with a long-wavelength edge up to 3.5μm.The all-fiberized configuration was composed of a thulium-doped fiber amplifier system emitting a broadband spectrum covering 1.9–2.6μm with pulse repetition rate of 3 MHz,and a short piece of germania fiber.A 41.9 W MIR SC with a whole spectrum of 1.9–3.5μm was generated in a piece of 0.2-m-long germania fiber,with a power conversion efficiency of 71.4%.For an even shorter germania fiber(0.1 m),an SC with even higher output power of 44.9 W(corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 76.5%)was obtained,but the energy conversion toward the long-wavelength region was slightly limited.A continuous operation for 1 hour with output power of 32.6 W showed outstanding power stability(root mean square 0.17%)of the obtained SC laser.To the best of the authors’knowledge,for the first time,this work demonstrates the feasibility of germania fiber on generating a 40-W level MIR SC with high efficiency and excellent power stability,paving the way to real applications requiring high power and high reliability of MIR SC lasers.Linyong Yang Yukun Yang Bin Zhang Xiran Zhu Desheng Zhao Shuailin Liu Jing Hou 2022High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,6:1

17Spatiotemporal dynamics of ecosystem fires and biomass burning-induced carbon emissions in China over the past two decades显示文摘Fire is a major type of disturbance that has important influences on ecosystem dynamics and carbon cycles.Yet our understanding of ecosystem fires and their carbon cycle consequences is still limited,largely due to the difficulty of large-scale fire monitoring and the complex interactions between fire,vegetation,climate,and anthropogenic factors.Here,using data from satellite-derived fire observations and ecosystem model simulations,we performed a comprehensive investigation of the spatial and temporal dynamics of China’s ecosystem fire disturbances and their carbon emissions over the past two decades(1997–2016).Satellite-derived results showed that on average about 3.47-4.53×10^(4) km^(2) of the land was burned annually during the past two decades,among which annual burned forest area was about 0.81-1.25×10^(4) km^(2),accounting for 0.33-0.51%of the forest area in China.Biomass burning emitted about 23.02 TgC per year.Compared to satellite products,simulations from the Energy Exascale Earth System Land Model(ELM)strongly overestimated China’s burned area and fire-induced carbon emissions.Annual burned area and fire-induced carbon emissions were high for boreal forest in Northeast China’s Daxing’anling region and subtropical dry forest in South Yunnan,as revealed by both the satellite product and the model simulations.Our results suggest that climate and anthropogenic factors play critical roles in controlling the spatial and seasonal distribution of China’s ecosystem fire disturbances.Our findings highlight the importance of multiple complementary approaches in assessing ecosystem fire disturbance and its carbon consequences.Further studies are required to improve the methods of observing and modelling China’s ecosystem fire disturbances,which will provide valuable information for fire management and ecosystem sustainability in an era when both human activities and the natural environment are rapidly changing.Anping Chen Rongyun Tang Jiafu Mao Chao Yue Xiran Li Mengdi Gao Xiaoying Shi Mingzhou Jin Daniel Ricciuto Sam Rabin Phillippe Ciais Shilong Piao 2020Geography and Sustainability2020,1,1:1
