| 3 | Systematic review and meta analysis of randomized controlled trials on Tianmagouteng decoction in treatment of primary hypertension with liverYang hyperactivity syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy of Tianma-gouteng decoction in the treatment of primary hypertension with liver yang hyperactivity syndrome. METHODS: The databases of MEDLINE (1950-2012), EMbase (1980-2012), China biology medicine (CBM) (1994-2012), China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI) (1989-2012), Weipu (VIP) (1995-2012) and Wanfang (1989-2012) were searched and we performed manual searches for conference proceedings to select randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on Tianmagouteng decoction for the treatment of primary hypertension with liver Yang hyperactivity syndrome. Studies were enrolled according to the study-selecting criteria. The methodological quality was evaluated, data were extracted and meta-analyses were conducted with RevMan 4.2 software. RESULTS: Nine RCTs were selected involving 784 patients with no significant difference in decrease in systolic blood pressure (SBP) [OR=1.02, 95% CI (-0.24, 2.29), P=0.10] and diastolic blood pressure(DBP) [OR=0.56, 95% CI (-0.10,1.23), P=0.11] between the Tianmagouteng group and the control group. While there was a significantly larger increase in serum superoxide dismutase (SOD)[OR= 6.26, 95% CI (1.27,11.66), P=0. 01] in the Tianma-gouteng group than that in the control group CONCLUSION: Tianmagouteng decoction can decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and greatly increase serum SOD. | 4 | Liquid crystal-templated chiral nanomaterials: from chiral plasmonics to circularly polarized luminescence显示文摘Chiral nanomaterials with intrinsic chirality or spatial asymmetry at the nanoscale are currently in the limelight of both fundamental research and diverse important technological applications due to their unprecedented physicochemical characteristics such as intense light-matter interactions, enhanced circular dichroism, and strong circularly polarized luminescence. Herein, we provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art advances in liquid crystal-templated chiral nanomaterials. The chiroptical properties of chiral nanomaterials are touched, and their fundamental design principles and bottom-up synthesis strategies are discussed. Different chiral functional nanomaterials based on liquid-crystalline soft templates, including chiral plasmonic nanomaterials and chiral luminescent nanomaterials, are systematically introduced, and their underlying mechanisms, properties, and potential applications are emphasized. This review concludes with a perspective on the emerging applications, challenges, and future opportunities of such fascinating chiral nanomaterials. | 5 | Could CMIP6 climate models reproduce the early-2000s global warming slowdown?显示文摘The unexpected global warming slowdown during 1998–2013 challenges the existing scientific understanding of global temperature change mechanisms,and thus the simulation and prediction ability of state-of-the-art climate models since most models participating in phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5)cannot simulate it.Here,we examine whether the new-generation climate models in CMIP6 can reproduce the recent global warming slowdown,and further evaluate their capacities for simulating key-scale natural variabilities which are the most likely causes of the slowdown.The results show that although the CMIP6 models present some encouraging improvements when compared with CMIP5,most of them still fail to reproduce the warming slowdown.They considerably overestimate the warming rate observed in 1998–2013,exhibiting an obvious warming acceleration rather than the observed deceleration.This is probably associated with their deficiencies in simulating the distinct temperature change signals from the human-induced long-term warming trend and/or the three crucial natural variabilities at interannual,interdecadal,and multidecadal scales.In contrast,the 4 models that can successfully reproduce the slowdown show relatively high skills in simulating the long-term warming trend and the three keyscale natural variabilities.Our work may provide important insight for the simulation and prediction of near-term climate changes. | Meng WEI Qi SHU Zhenya SONG Yajuan SONG Xiaodan YANG Yongqing GUO Xinfang LI Fangli QIAO | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,6: | 5 |
| 6 | New flame retardant epoxy resins based on cyclophosphazene-derived curing agents显示文摘To obtain high-efficiency flame retardancy of epoxy resins,a cyclophosphazene derivative tri-(ohenylenediamino)cyclotriphosphazene(3 ACP)was successfully synthesized and used as a curing agent for the thermosetting of an epoxy resin system.The flame retardant properties,thermal stability,and pyrolysis mechanism of the resultant thermosets were investigated in detail.The experiments indicated that the synthesized thermoset achieved a UL-94 V-0 rate under a vertical burning test as well as a limiting oxygen index(LOI)of 29.2%,which was able to reach V-0 even when a small amount of 3 ACP was incorporated.Scanning electronic microscopic observation demonstrated that the char residue of the thermosets was extremely expanded after the vertical flame test.Thermal analysis showed that the samples had a lower initial decomposition temperature when 3 ACP was introduced into the epoxy resin systems.This indicates that the carbonization ability of the thermosets was significantly improved at elevated temperatures.In addition,the incorporation of 3 ACP can effectively suppress the release of combustible gases during the pyrolysis process,and the decomposition of E-44/DDS-3 ACP curing systems also promotes the formation of polyphosphoramides charred layer in the condensed phase.The investigation on the chemical structures of both the gaseous and condensed phase pyrolysis process confirmed the flame-retardant mechanism of the 3 ACP-cured epoxy resins.Therefore,the nonflammable halogen-free epoxy resin developed in this study has potential applications in electric and electronic fields for environment protection and human health. | Zhenwei Miao Dongpeng Yan Xiaodong Wang Xinfang Zhang Wenqi Zhou Munan Qiu Fan Yang Zhanpeng Wu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8: | 3 |

| 9 | Effects of CIITA antisense RNA on the expression of HLA class Ⅱ molecules显示文摘To study the effect of the major histocompatibility complex class Ⅱ (MHC Ⅱ ) transactivator (CIITA) antisense RNA on the expression of the human leukemia (HLA) class Ⅱ molecules, 5’ end cDNA sequence of CIITA gene was cloned, and antisense RNA expression vector pcDNA-Ⅱ was constructed. HeLa cells transfected with pcDNA-Ⅱ and pcDNA3 were induced by IFN-γ for 3 d. The expression of HLA class Ⅱ molecules on HeLa/pcDNA-Ⅱ cells was significantly decreased, while it has no effect on the expression of HLA class Ⅰ molecules. This result suggests that the CIITA antisense RNA can inhibit the expression of HLA class Ⅱ molecules in HeLa cells. The solidification microstructure is transformed from 650 μm columnar grains to 100 μm equiaxed grains by scanning electron beam welding. The anodic polarization curve of 150 μm equiaxed grains coincides with that of base metal. Equal corrosion resistance between weld metal and base metal was obtained. Uniform microstructure and solute distribution are the basis of equalization. Corrosion rate of weld with 150 μm equiaxed grains is the lowest, 2.45 times lower than that of 650 μm columnar grains. | 13 | Efficient transfer and expression of human clotting factor IX cDNA in neonatal hemophilia B mice mediated by VSV-G pseudotyped retrovi-rus显示文摘The feasibility of in vivo gene therapy for hemophilia B by VSV-G pseudotyped retroviral vector was introduced. The novel packaging cell line 293GPG was used to produce VSV-G/G1NaBAIX pseudotyped virus with the highest liters up to 8.5×108cfu .mL-1. In contrast to the conventional retrovirus, VSV-G pseudotyped virus was more resistant to inactivation by serum complements (P<0.001). Our results also demonstrated that VSV-G pseudotyped virus was more stable in neonatal mice serum than in adult mice serum (P<0.01). After intraperitoneal injection of different doses of virus, hFIX antigen was detected and lasted for more than 120 d, the highest level reached (72.5+6.1) ng- mL11. RESULTS: After treatment for 12 weeks, the renal histology analysis showed that treatment with hGHA2 at 4 mg/kg body weight daily markedly suppressed glomerulosclerosis in streptozotocin-induced diabetic Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats; hGHA1 at the same dosage slightly increased the renal damage compared with saline; while wild type hGH at 1 U/kg body weight daily severely worsened the glomerulo-sclerosis in diabetic SD rats.
