1Palaeoproterozoic Khondalite Belt in the western North China Craton: New evidence from SHRIMP dating and Hf isotope composition of zircons from metamorphic rocks in the Bayan Ul-Helan Mountains area显示文摘Zircom U-Pb age and Hf isotope analyses were made on gneissic granite and garnet-mica two-feldspar gneiss from the Helanshan Group in the Bayan Ul-Helan Mountains area, the western block of the North China Craton (NCC). Zircons from the gneissic granite commonly show core-mantle-rim structures, with magmatic core, metamorphic mantle and rim having ages of 2323±20 Ma, 1923±28 Ma and 1856±12 Ma, respectively. The core, mantle and rim show similar Hf isotope compositions, with single-stage depleted mantle model ages (TDM1) of 2455 to 2655 Ma (19 analyses). Most of the detrital zircons from the garnet-mica two-feldspar paragneiss have a concentrated U-Pb age distribution, with a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1978±17 Ma. A few detrital zircons are older (2871 to 2469 Ma). The age for metamorphic overgrown rim was not determined because of strong Pb loss due to their high U content. The zircons show large variation in Hf isotope composition, with TDM1 ages of 1999 to 3047 Ma. In com- bination with previous studies, the main conclusions are as follows: (1) protolith of the khondalite se- ries in the Helanshan Group formed during Palaeoproterozoic rather than the Archaean as previously considered; (2) The results lend support to the contention that there is a huge Palaeoproterozoic Khondalite (metasedimentary) Belt between the Yinshan Mountains Block and the Ordos Block in the Western Block of NCC; (3) The widely-distributed bodies of early Palaeoproterozoic orthogneisses in the Khondalite Belt might be one of the important sources for detritus material in the khondalite series; (4) Collision between the Yinshan Block, the Ordos Block and the Eastern Block occurred in the same tectonothermal event of late Palaeoproterozoic, resulting in the final assembly of the NCC.DONG ChunYan LIU DunYi LI JunJian WAN YuSheng ZHOU HongYing LI ChengDong YANG YueHeng XIE LieWen 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,21:52
2Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. 3SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating of late Paleoproterozoic kondalites in the Daqing Mountains area on the North China Craton显示文摘The Daqing Mountains area comprises a typical occurrence of the Khondalite Belt in the Western Block of the North China Craton (NCC). In this area, both early and late Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks have been identified in what was originally called the Upper Wula Mountains 'Subgroup'. Six metasedimentary rock samples yielded SHRIMP U-Pb zircon ages of 2.56-2.04 Ga for detrital and 1.96-1.83 Ga for metamorphic zircons. 5Detrital zircon age model of Ordovician Wenquan quartzite south of Lungmuco-Shuanghu Suture in the Qiangtang area, Tibet: Constraint on tectonic affinity and source regions显示文摘Early to Middle Ordovician strata, including Wenquan quartzite, occur widely in the Himalaya, Lhasa, and south Qiangtang blocks. The Wenquan quartzite occurs on the south side of the Lungmuco-Shuanghu Suture in the Qiangtang area, Tibet. A total of 145 analyses on detrital zircons from the quartzite show five age ranges of 520-700, ca. 800, 900-1100, 1800-1900, and 2400-2500 Ma, with particularly distinct age peaks of 625 and 950 Ma. The reliable youngest detrital zircon age is 525 Ma, and the oldest, 3180 Ma. Detrital zircons show large variations in Hf isotope composition, with depleted mantle model ages t DM (Hf) ranging from 750 to 3786 Ma. Based on data obtained in this study and by others, the main conclusions are as follows: 1) Low-grade metamorphic sedimentary rocks are distributed extensively in the south of the Lungmuco-Shuanghu Suture and are Phanerozoic in age; 2) Pan-African and Grenville-Jinning tectono-thermal events were well developed in the source region of the Wenquan quartzite; 3) the source region shows crustal addition and recycling of different periods; 4) Wenquan quartzite was derived from the Gondwana metamorphic basement, suggesting that the Qiangtang block is a Gondwanan fragment.DONG ChunYan LI Cai WAN YuSheng WANG Wei WU YanWang XIE HangQiang LIU DunYi 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7:39
6Average slip-rate and recent large earthquake ruptures along the Garzê-Yushu fault显示文摘Our field investigation obtains new evidence of the later Quaternary activity and recent large earthquake ruptures of the Garzê-Yushu fault. The average left-lateral slip-rate along the fault is determined to be (12 ± 2) mm/a for the last 50000 years from both offset landforms and ages of the correlative sediments. This result is very close to the estimated average left-lateral slip-rate for the Xianshuihe fault, suggesting that the horizontal movement along the northern boundary of the Sichuan-Yunnan active tectonic block and the northeastern boundary of the Qiangtang active tectonic block has been basically harmonious during the later Quaternary period. Remains of ground ruptures of recent large earthquakes have been discovered along all 3 segments of the fault, of which, the 1896 rupture on the northwestern segment is at least 70 km long, and its corresponding earthquake could be of moment magnitude 7.3. The latest rupture on the middle segment of the fault has a length of about 180 km, and was produced by an unknown-age large earthquake that could have a moment magnitude of about 7.7. Along the southeastern segment of the fault, the latest unknown-age rupture is about 65 km long and has a maximum left-lateral coseismic displacement of 5.3 m, and its corresponding earthquake is estimated to be as large as about 7.3 of moment magnitude. Based on relevant investigation, an inference has been drawn that the later two large earthquakes probably occurred in 1854 and 1866, respectively. 8MicroRNA-548 down-regulates host antiviral response via direct targeting of IFN-λ1显示文摘Interferon(IFN)-mediated pathways are a crucial part of the cellular response against viral infection.Type III IFNs,which include IFN-λ1,2 and 3,mediate antiviral responses similar to Type I IFNs via a distinct receptor complex.IFN-λ1 is more effective than the other two members.Transcription of IFN-λ1 requires activation of IRF3/7 and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB),similar to the transcriptional mechanism of Type I IFNs.Using reporter assays,we discovered that viral infection in-duced both IFN-λ1 promoter activity and that of the 3′-untranslated region(UTR),indicating that IFN-λ1 expression is also regulated at the post-transcriptional level.After analysis with microRNA(miRNA)prediction programs and 3′UTR targeting site assays,the miR-NA-548 family,including miR-548b-5p,miR-548c-5p,miR-548i,miR-548j,and miR-548n,was identified to target the 3′UTR of IFN-λ1.Further study demonstrated that miRNA-548 mimics down-regulated the expression of IFN-λ1.In contrast,their inhibitors,the complemen-tary RNAs,enhanced the expression of IFN-λ1 and IFN-stimulated genes.Furthermore,miRNA-548 mimics promoted infection by enterovirus-71(EV71)and ve-sicular stomatitis virus(VSV),whereas their inhibitors significantly suppressed the replication of EV71 and VSV.Endogenous miRNA-548 levels were suppressed during viral infection.In conclusion,our results sug-gest that miRNA-548 regulates host antiviral response via direct targeting of IFN-λ1,which may offer a poten-tial candidate for antiviral therapy.Yongkui Li Jiajia Xie Xiupeng Xu Jun Wang Fang Ao Yushun Wan Ying Zhu 2013Protein & Cell2013,4,2:22

10The molecular mechanism underlying angiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma: the imbalance activation of signaling pathways显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of two dominating signaling pathways, VEGF/KDR andangiopoietins/Tie2, on the formation of new blood vessel in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) growth andmetastasis.METHODS: RT-PCR and Western blot were employed to evaluate the VEGF/KDR andangiopoietins/Tie2 expression in samples from 23 patients with HCC. Meanwhile, microvessel density(MVD) was determined as a marker of angiogenesis by counting CD34 positive cells with the method ofimmunohistochemistry.RESULTS: The two pathways were activated in all HCC samples. The expressions of vascular endothelialgrowth factor (VEGF) and angiopoietin-2 (Ang2) were significantly higher (P<0.05) in hepatocellularcarcinoma tissues and the margin of the tumor than those in control groups, and so did CD34 positivecells. Although significant difference in the expression of kinase insert domain containing receptor (KDR)and Ang1/Tie2 was not observed in all groups, their distinct high levels were seen in hepatoma and itsmargin compared with normal and cirrhotic liver. VEGF and Ang2 expressions were seen up-regulated inHCC with vascular invasion and satellite lesion.CONCLUSIONS: The two signaling pathways, VEGF/KDR and angiopoietins/Tie2 are activated in theprocess of angiogenesis in HCC and modulate the formation of new blood vessels. The imparity of the twosignaling pathways’ activation is to benefit HCC metastasis. In the two pathways, VEGF and Ang2 mayplay an important role in the process of angiogenesis, and are necessary indicators for the prognosis andmetastasis of HCC. 11Identification of Colletotrichum spp. isolated from strawberry in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai City,China显示文摘Strawberry anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum spp., is a major disease of cultivated strawberry. This study identifies 31 isolates of Colletotrichum spp. which cause strawberry anthracnose in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai City, China. Eleven isolates were identified as C. acutatum, 10 as C. gloeosporioides and 10 as C. fragariae based on morphological characteristics, phylogenetic and sequence analyses. Species-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and enzyme digestion further confirmed the identification of the Colletotrichum spp., demonstrating that these three species are currently the causal agents of strawberry anthracnose in the studied regions. Based on analysis of rDNA internal transcribed spacers (ITS) sequences, sequences of all C. acutatum were identical, and little genetic variability was observed between C. fragariae and C. gloeosporioides. 13Formation age and tectonic environment of the Gantaohe Group,North China Craton:Geology,geochemistry,SHRIMP zircon geochronology and Hf-Nd isotopic systematics显示文摘The Gantaohe Group is an important early Precambrian unit in the Trans-North China Orogen,North China Craton,and is mainly composed of greenschist-facies metabasalt,meta-sandstone and dolomitic marble.We report whole-rock geochemical compositions and SHRIMP zircon ages as well as LA-ICP-MS Hf-in-zircon isotopeic analyses for metabasalts from the Gantaohe Group.SHRIMP dating yielded a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2087±16 Ma(MSWD=1.3) for magmatic zircons,but there are also abundant ca.2.5 Ga inherited zircon xenocrysts.The magmatic zircons shows a large Hf(t) variation in Hf(t) from 7.17 to +0.45,suggesting an isotopically highly heterogeneous source for the metabasalt.Chemically all samples show no distinct Zr or Hf anomalies,and some samples show no Nd or Ta anomalies in a primitive mantle-normalized trace element variation diagram,and their whole-rock Nd(t) values range from 4.0 to 0.8.We suggest that the basalt is formed by partial melting of a depleted mantle source,followed by significant crustal contamination.Field observations,the presence of abundant inherited zircon,as well as isotope and trace elements geochemistry support formation of the Gantaohe Group on top of a continental basement.These data and the regional geology lead us to conclude that the Trans-North China Orogen constituted an intracontinental rift during the Paleoproterozoic that was connected to the Eastern Block since the end of the Archean.XIE HangQiang LIU DunYi YIN XiaoYan ZHOU HongYing YANG ChongHui DU LiLin WAN YuSheng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,36:16

16ZmMs30 Encoding a Novel GDSL Lipase Is Essential for Male Fertility and Valuable for Hybrid Breeding in Maize显示文摘Genic male sterility (GMS) is very useful for hybrid vigor utilization and hybrid seed production. Although a large number of GMS genes have been identified in plants, little is known about the roles of GDSL lipase members in anther and pollen development. Here, we report a maize GMS gene, ZmMs30, which encodes a novel type of GDSL lipase with diverged catalytic residues. Enzyme kinetics and activity assays show that ZmMs30 has lipase activity and prefers to substrates with a short carbon chain. ZmMs30 is specifically expressed in maize anthers during stages 7-9. Loss of ZmMs30 function resulted in defective anther cuticle, irregular foot layer of pollen exine, and complete male sterility. Cytological and lipidomics analyses demonstrate that ZmMs30 is crucial for the aliphatic metabolic pathway required for pollen exine formation and anther cuticle development. Furthermore, we found that male sterility caused by loss of ZmMs30 function was stable in various inbred lines with different genetic background, and that it didn't show any negative effect on maize heterosis and production, suggesting that ZmMs30 is valuable for crossbreeding and hybrid seed production. We then developed a new multi-control sterility system using ZmMs30 and its mutant line, and demonstrated it is feasible for generating desirable GMS lines and valu. able for hybrid maize seed production. 17Early Serum HBsAg Kinetics as Predictor of HBsAg Loss in Patients with HBeAg-Negative Chronic Hepatitis B after Treatment with Pegylated Interferonα-2a显示文摘Hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)loss is an ideal treatment endpoint for patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB).We investigated the predictive value of on-treatment HBsAg levels for HBsAg loss in hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag)-negative CHB patients who received 120-week PEG-IFNα-2a treatment.Serum HBV DNA,HBsAg,and anti-HBs levels were assayed at baseline and every 3 months during the treatment.Of 81 patients,12 achieved HBsAg loss,20 achieved HBsAg\100 IU/mL,and 49 maintained HBs Ag C 100 IU/mL.HBsAg loss rate was only 3.7%at 48 weeks,while it reached to 11.1%and 14.8%after treatment of 96 weeks and 120 weeks.The cutoff HBs Ag levels at 12 weeks predicting HBsAg loss at 96 weeks and 120 weeks of treatment were 400 IU/mL and 750 IU/mL,with AUC 0.725 and 0.722,positive predictive value(PPV)29.41%and 30.56%,and negative predictive value(NPV)93.75%and 97.78%,respectively.The cutoff HBsAg levels at 24 weeks predicting HBsAg loss at 96 weeks and 120 weeks of treatment were 174 IU/m L and 236 IU/mL respectively,with AUC 0.925 and 0.922,PPV 40.0%and 46.15%,and both NPV 100%.The predictive ability of the cutoff HBsAg levels at 24 weeks was better than that at 12 weeks for HBs Ag loss at either 96 or 120 weeks(χ~2=3.880,P=0.049 andχ~2=4.412,P=0.036).These results indicate that extended therapy is critical to HBsAg loss in HBe Ag-negative CHB patients during PEG-IFN treatment,and the HBsAg level at 24 weeks can be used to predict HBsAg loss during tailoring PEG-IFN therapy.Minghui Li Lu Zhang Yao Lu Qiqi Chen Huihui Lu Fangfang Sun Zhan Zeng Gang Wan Linqing Zhao Yao Xie 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,2:15
18The Predictive Value of Baseline HBs Ag Level and Early Response for HBs Ag Loss in Patients with HBe Ag-positive Chronic Hepatitis B during Pegylated Interferon Alpha-2a Treatment显示文摘Objective To explore the predictive value of baseline HBsAg level and early response for HBsAg loss in patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B during pegylated interferon alpha-2a treatment. Methods A total of 121 patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B who achieved HBsAg loss were enrolled; all patients were treated with PEG-IFNα-2a 180 μg/week. Serum HBV DNA and serological indicators(HBsAg, anti-HBs, HBeAg, and anti-HBe) were determined before and every 3 months during treatment. Results The median treatment time for HBsAg loss was 84 weeks(7-273 weeks), and 74.38%(90 cases) of the patients needed extended treatment(> 48 weeks). The correlation between baseline HBsAg levels and the treatment time of HBsAg loss was significant(B = 14.465, t = 2.342, P = 0.021). Baseline HBsAg levels together with the decline range of HBsAg at 24 weeks significantly correlated with the treatment time of HBsAg loss(B = 29.862, t = 4.890, P = 0.000 and B = 27.993, t = 27.993, P = 0.005). Conclusion Baseline HBsAg levels and extended therapy are critical steps toward HBsAg loss. 19Formation and evolution of the Archean continental crust of China:A review显示文摘The mainland of China is composed of the North China Craton,the South China Craton,the Tarim Craton and other young orogehie belts.Amongst the three cratons,the North China Craton has been studied most and noted for its widely-distributed Archean basement rocks.In this paper,we assess and compare the geology,rock types,formation age and geochemical composition features of the Archean basements of the three cratons.They have some common characteristics,including the fact that the crustal rocks prior to the Paleoarchean and the supracrustal rocks of the Neoarehean were preserved,and Tonalite-Trondhjemtite- Granodiorite (TTG)magmatism and tectono-magmatism occurred at about 2.7 Ga and about 2.5 Ga respectively.The Tarim Craton and the North China Craton show more similarities in their early Precambrian crustal evolution.Significant findings on the Archean basement of the North China Craton are coneluded to be:(1)the tectonic regime in the early stage (>3.1 Ga)is distinct from modem plate tectonics;(2)the continental crust accretion occurred mostly from the late Mesoarchean to the early Neoarehean period;(3)a huge linear tectonic belt already existed in the late Neoarchean period,suggesting the beginning of plate tectonics;and (4)the preliminary cratonization had already been completed by about 2.5 Ga. Hadean detrital zircons were found at a total of nine locations within China.Most of them show clear oscillatory zoning,sharing similar textures with magmatic zircons from interrnediate-felsic magmatic rocks.
