| 1 | Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake:A blind reserve-fault event显示文摘In the epicenter of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake there are several imbricate active reverse faults lying from northwest to southeast,namely the Gengda-Longdong,Yanjing-Wulong,Shuangshi-Dachuan and Dayi faults.Emergency field investigations have indicated that no apparent earthquake surface rupture zones were located along these active faults or their adjacent areas.Only brittle compressive ruptures in the cement-covered pavements can be seen in Shuangshi,Taiping,Longxing and Longmen Townships,and these ruptures show that a local crustal shortening occurred in the region during the earthquake.Combining spatial distribution of the relocated aftershocks and focal mechanism solutions,it is inferred that the Lushan earthquake is classified as a typical blind reverse-fault earthquake,and it is advised that the relevant departments should pay great attention to other historically un-ruptured segments along the Longmenshan thrust belt and throughout its adjacent areas. | XU XiWei WEN XueZe HAN ZhuJun CHEN GuiHua LI ChuanYou ZHENG WenJun ZHNAG ShiMin REN ZhiQun XU Chong TAN XiBin WEI ZhanYu WANG MingMing REN JunJie HE ZhongTai LIANG MingJian | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28: | 35 |
| 2 | Design and experiment on intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters显示文摘When sowing summer corn without tillage,it is necessary to ensure that the furrow opener is free from straw congestion and that the spacing of the sowing can be adjusted according to the breeds of corn and the preset seeding rate per acre.On the basis of the structural features of newly developed no-tillage corn fertilizers,an intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters was developed in this study.The system facilitates automatic control of the spacing adjustment and the status monitor for the fertilizer tank,seed tank,and seeding orifice.According to the preset number of rows,line spacing,number of plants per acre,and seed germination rate,the control rate can be calculated through designing in surveillance software.The control rate is output to the fuzzy controller through the digital output module of the CAN bus.Fuzzy control is applied to the DC motor for stepless adjustment of the spacing.A system for video surveillance of the working status of a planter is developed for displaying a real-time video image of the planter operation and achieving an anti-congestion status monitoring of a no-tillage planting operation in a dusty environment.Through field trials,the detection accuracy was 91.4%.The seed-clogging fault-alarm accuracy was 96.0%.The entire system remained stable and reliable. | Du Ruicheng Gong Bingcai Liu Ningning Wang Chenchen Yang Zidong Ma Mingjian | 2013 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,3: | 16 |

| 4 | Statistical scenarios forecasting method for wind power ramp events using modified neural networks显示文摘Wind power ramp events increasingly affect the integration of wind power and cause more and more problems to the safety of power grid operation in recent years.Several forecasting techniques for wind power ramp events have been reported.In this paper,the statistical scenarios forecasting method is proposed for wind power ramp event probabilistic forecasting based on the probability generating model.Multi-objective fitness functions are established considering cumulative density functions and higher order moment autocorrelation functions with respect to the consistency of distribution and timing characteristics,respectively.Parameters of probability generating model are calculated by the iterative optimization using the modified genetic algorithm with multi-objective fitness functions.A number of statistical scenarios captured bands are generated accordingly.Eventually,ramp event probability characteristics are detected from scenarios captured bands to evaluate the ramp event forecasting method.A wind plant of Bonneville Power Administration with actual wind power data is selected for calculation and statistical analysis.It is shown that statistical results with multi-objective functions are more accurate than the results with single objective functions.Moreover,the statistical scenarios forecasting method can accurately estimate the characteristics of wind power ramp events.The results verify that the proposed method can guide the generation method of statistical scenarios and forecasting models for ramp events. | Mingjian CUI Deping KE Di GAN Yuanzhang SUN | 2015 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,3: | 13 |
| 5 | Three dimensional velocity structure and accurate earthquake location in Changning–Gongxian area of southeast Sichuan显示文摘In order to understand the crustal structure and tectonic background of the Changning–Gongxiang area, southeastern Sichuan Province, where a series of moderate-to-strong earthquakes occurred in recent years, we utilized the seismic phase data both from a local dense array and from the regional seismic networks;we used the tomoDD program to invert for the high-resolution three-dimensional velocity structure within the depth range of 0–10 km and for accurate hypocentral locations in this area. We analyzed the seismogenic structures for the events of Xingwen M5.7 in 2018 and Gongxian M5.3 and Changning M6.0 in 2019. The results show that:(1) widespread lateral inhomogeneity exists in the velocity structure of the study area, and the location of the velocity anomaly is largely consistent with known structures. In the range of distinguishable depth, the inhomogeneity decreases with increasing depth, and the velocity structure anomalies in some areas are continuous in depth;(2) earthquakes occurred in clusters, showing the characteristics of zonal folding trends in the NW-SE and NE-SW directions;the focal depth in the area is generally shallow in both the sedimentary cap and the crystalline basement. The seismogenic structures of small earthquake clusters are different in size and occurrence in different sections, and the clusters occurred mostly in regions with high P-or S-wave velocities;(3) synthesis of a variety of data suggests that the seismogenic structures of the Xingwen M5.7 and Changning M6.0 earthquakes are associated with slip faults that trend NW-SE in, respectively, the south wing and the axis of the Changning–Shuanghe anticline, while that of the Gongxian M5.3 earthquake is associated with thrust faults that trend N-S in the Jianwu syncline region. | 6 | Features and origin time of Mesozoic strike-slip structures in the Yilan-Yitong Fault Zone显示文摘The NE-striking Yilan-Yitong Fault Zone(YYFZ) with a length of ca. 900 km is an important major fault zone in northeastern China. Its origin has been a controversial issue for a long time. Detailed field investigation and comprehensive analyses show that strike-slip faults or ductile shear belts exist as the origination structures on the both shoulders of the Cretaceous-Paleogene grabens. These strike-slip structures are dominated by brittle transcurrent faults, and appear as ductile shear belts only in the Weiyuanpu-Yehe and Shulan parts in the south and middle of the fault zone, respectively. The shear belts strike NE-SW and show steep mylonitic foliation and gentle mineral elongation lineation. Outcrop structures, microstructures and quartz c-axis fabrics demonstrate a sinistral shear sense with minor reverse component for the ductile shear belts. The microstructures suggest deformation temperatures of 400–450°C for the Weiyuanpu-Yehe shear belts and 350–400°C for the Shulan shear belt. A series of zircon U-Pb dating results for deformed and undeformed plutons or dikes in the shear belts constrain the strike-slip motion to the time between 160 and 126 Ma. It is further inferred from ages of main geological events in this region that the fault zone originated in the earliest Early Cretaceous. It is suggested therefore that the southern and middle parts of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone, which originated in Middle Triassic, propagated into northeastern China along the sinistral YYFZ under the earliest Early Cretaceous regional compression that is referred to as the Yanshan B event. | 8 | Hydrogen sulfide, a signaling molecule in plant stress responses显示文摘Gaseous molecules, such as hydrogen sulfide(H_2S)and nitric oxide(NO), are crucial players in cellular and(patho)physiological processes in biological systems. The biological functions of these gaseous molecules, which were first discovered and identified as gasotransmitters in animals, have received unprecedented attention from plant scientists in recent decades. Researchers have arrived at the consensus that H_2S is synthesized endogenously and serves as a signaling molecule throughout the plant life cycle.However, the mechanisms of H_2S action in redox biology is still largely unexplored. This review highlights what we currently know about the characteristics and biosynthesis of H_2S in plants. Additionally,we summarize the role of H_2S in plant resistance to abiotic stress. | 9 | Detection of Bearing Faults Using a Novel Adaptive Morphological Update Lifting Wavelet显示文摘The current morphological wavelet technologies utilize a fixed filter or a linear decomposition algorithm,which cannot cope with the sudden changes, such as impulses or edges in a signal effectively. This paper presents a novel signal processing scheme, adaptive morphological update lifting wavelet(AMULW), for rolling element bearing fault detection. In contrast with the widely used morphological wavelet, the filters in AMULW are no longer fixed. Instead, the AMULW adaptively uses a morphological dilation-erosion filter or an average filter as the update lifting filter to modify the approximation signal.Moreover, the nonlinear morphological filter is utilized to substitute the traditional linear filter in AMULW. The effectiveness of the proposed AMULW is evaluated using a simulated vibration signal and experimental vibration signals collected from a bearing test rig. | 10 | Co-Seismic Surface Rupture and Recurrence Interval of Large Earthquakes along Damaoyaba-Litang Segment of the Litang Fault on the Eastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau in China显示文摘The Litang fault is a left-lateral secondary shear zone in the Sichuan-Yunnan active block that accommodates the tectonic deformation associated with the eastward extrusion of the upper crust of the Tibetan Plateau. Based on 1 : 50 000 geological mapping of active faults, the Litang fault consists of three geometric segments, the Cuopuhu, Damaoyaba, and Litang segments, in the west of Litang, which are divided by the of Haizi Mountain uplift and the wide-angle bending and branching of the fault near Jinchanggou. This study also identifies the surface rupture of the A.D. 1890 earthquake, which is distributed intermittently along the ~28 km long Damaoyaba segments and ~25 km long Litang segments. The maximum horizontal displacement is 4.1 m along Damaoyaba segments, and 4 m along Litang segments. The rupture involves typical left-lateral shear movement. The two ruptures are divided by discontinuous segments or gaps that are ~18 km long;thus, the total surface rupture is approximately 71 km long. The estimated moment magnitude was M_(w)7.3±0.1. A comprehensive analysis of data obtained from 5 trenches excavated along the Damaoyaba and Litang segments and the trench data by Xu et al.(2005) identifies age constraints of the 4 most recent paleoseimic events occurred B.C. 1468±54–1340±25, B.C. 52±25–A.D. 76±47, A.D. 1115±90, and A.D. 1890, respectively. The recurrence intervals are 1 415±80, 1 104±104, and 775±90 a, which are consistent with quasi-periodic earthquake recurrence behavior. | 11 | The effect of microclimate on wood decay is indirectly altered by tree species diversity in a litterbag study显示文摘Aims We studied the influence of tree species diversity on the dynamics of coarse wood decomposition in developing forest communities in a natural,topographically heterogeneous landscape.Using the litter bag technique,we investigated how and to which extent canopy tree species richness or the exclusion of mesoinvertebrates and macroinvertebrates affected wood decomposition in the light of natural variations in the microclimate.We compared the relative importance of the two aspects(experimental treatment versus microclimate)on wood decay rates using Schima superba as a standard litter.Methods Coarse woody debris(CWD)was deposited in litter bags with two different mesh sizes in a total of 134 plots along a gradient of canopy tree species richness(0-24 species).Wood decomposition was assessed at two consecutive time points,one and three years after deposition in the field.Local climatic conditions were assessed throughout the duration of the experiment.Microclimatic conditions were assessed both,directly in the field as well as indirectly via correlations with local topography.We used analysis of variance based approaches to assess the relative importance of the treatments(community tree species richness and macro invertebrate exclusion)and microclimatic conditions on wood decay.Important Findings No direct influence of tree species richness on wood decay could be detected.However,the exclusion of macroinvertebrates significantly decreased wood decomposition rates.In addition,microclimatic conditions accounted for a substantial proportion of explained variance in the observed data.Here,wood decomposition was negatively affected by low mean temperatures and high variations in local humidity and temperature.However,tree species richness as well as the respective species composition affected the presence of termites within forest communities.These,in turn,significantly increased the decay of CWD.The strength of both,experimental treatment and microclimate increased with ongoing decomposition.We conclude that,while tree species richness per se has no direct influence on wood decomposition,its influence on the local arthropod decomposer community(especially the presence of termites)does have an effect. | David Eichenberg Katherina Pietsch Christian Meister Wenyong Ding Mingjian Yu Christian Wirth | 2017 | Journal of Plant Ecology2017,10,1: | 5 |
| 12 | Straw return increases crop grain yields and K-use efficiency under a maize-rice cropping system显示文摘Straw return is an effective way to improve crop grain yield and potassium(K)use efficiency by increasing soil K content.However,the effects of straw return on soil K supplying capacity,replacement of K fertilizer,and K-use efficiency under maize(Zea mays L.)–rice(Oryza sativa L.)cropping systems are little studied.A two-year field experiment was conducted to determine the physiological determinants of K-use efficiency under straw return with four K fertilization rates.Sr33(straw returned plus 33%of K fertilizer applied)and Sr67(straw returned plus 67%of K fertilizer applied)increased annual crop yields by 1.5%and 3.2%and increased agronomic K-use efficiency by respectively 2.9 and 1.3-fold on average in the two years,compared with the conventional practice S0K100(no straw returned plus normal amounts of K fertilizer applied).The Sr33 and Sr67 treatments resulted in significantly greater equilibrium K concentration ratios(CR0 K)and specifically exchangeable K(KX)values according to quantity/intensity(Q/I)relationship analyses,indicating improvement of the potential soil K supply capacity.However,the Sr67 better maintained the soil exchangeable K level and K balance.The results suggested that K released from maize and rice straw can replace about half of chemical K fertilizer,depending on the available K content in maize–rice cropping system production. | Yuling Han Wei Ma Baoyuan Zhou Akram Salah Mingjian Geng Cougui Cao Ming Zhan Ming Zhao | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,1: | 5 |

| 14 | Hydrogen sulfide-linked persulfidation of ABI4 controls ABA responses through the transactivation of MAPKKK18 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H2S)is a signaling molecule that regulates plant hormone and stress responses.The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an important role in plant adaptation to unfavorable environmental conditions and induces the persulfidation of L-CYSTEINE DESULFHYDRASE1(DES1)and the production of H2S in guard cells.However,it remains largely unclear how H2S and protein persulfidation participate in the relay of ABA signals.In this study,we discovered that ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 4(ABI4)acts downstream of DES1 in the control of ABA responses in Arabidopsis.ABI4 undergoes persulfidation at Cys250 that is triggered in a time-dependent manner by ABA,and loss of DES1 function impairs this process.Cys250 and its persulfidation are essential for ABI4 function in the regulation of plant responses to ABA and the H2S donor NaHS during germination,seedling establishment,and stomatal closure,which are abolished in the ABI4Cys250Ala mutated variant.Introduction of the ABI4Cys250Ala variant into the abi4 des1 mutant did not rescue its hyposensitivity to ABA.Cys250 is critical for the binding of ABI4 to its cognate motif in the promoter of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 18(MAPKKK18),which propagates the MAPK signaling cascade induced by ABA.Furthermore,the DES1-mediated persulfidation of ABI4 enhances the transactivation activity of ABI4 toward MAPKKK18,and ABI4 can bind the DES1 promoter,forming a regulatory loop.Taken together,these findings advance our understanding of a post-translational regulatory mechanism and suggest that ABI4 functions as an integrator of ABA and MAPK signals through a process in which DES1-produced H2S persulfidates ABI4 at Cys250. | Mingjian Zhou Jing Zhang Jie Shen Heng Zhou Didi Zhao Cecilia Gotor Luis CRomero Ling Fu Zongmin Li Jing Yang Wenbiao Shen Xingxing Yuan Yanjie Xie | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,6: | 5 |
| 15 | Optimal capacity planning of combined renewable energy source-pumped storage and seawater desalination systems显示文摘As water scarcity is becoming a growing threat to human development, finding effective solutions has become an urgent need. To make better use of water resources, seawater desalination and storage systems using renewable energy sources(RES) are designed and implemented around the world. In this paper, an optimal capacity planning method for RES-pumped storage-seawater desalination(RES-PS-D) system is introduced. The configuration of the RES-PS-D system is clarified first, after which a cost-benefit analysis is performed using all cost and benefit components. A function for determining maximum economic benefits of the RES-PS-D system is then established, and the constraints are proposed based on various limitations. The mixed-integer linear programming algorithm is applied to solve the optimal function. A case study is introduced to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method. | 17 | Rainfall,Landslide and Debris Flow Intergrowth Relationship in Jiangjia Ravine显示文摘Jiangjia Ravine is a world-famous debris flow valley in Dongchuan,Yunnan Province,China.Every year large numbers of landslides and collapses happened and caused enormous damages to people's properties and lives.With longtime observation and testing in Jiangjia Ravine we had found out one kind of special landslide which had the characteristics of landslide and collapse.Landslide and collapse supplied sufficient materials for debris flow.When a debris flow broke out,some kind of intergrowth existed among rainfall,landslide and debris flow.In order to study the intergrowth and some key parameters,we carried out artificial rainfall landslide tests and model experiments to observe the phenomena such as collapse,surface slide and surface flow.By observing the experimental phenomena and monitoring water contents,the transformation process among landslide deposits and debris flow under the condition of rainfall had been analyzed.Research results revealed the relationship of this kind of intergrowth among rainfall,landslide and debris flow in Jiangjia Ravine.Meanwhile,it was found that this kind of intergrowth relationship existed only when the moisture content was in a certain range.That is,the critical state seemed to be existed in the transformation process. | HU Mingjian WANG Ren SHEN Jianhua | 2011 | Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,4: | 4 |
| 18 | Spatial and Temporal Variations in Earthquake Stress Drops between the 2008 Wenchuan and 2013 Lushan Earthquakes显示文摘As a case study of spatial and temporal variations in earthquake stress drops between the 2008 Ms 8.0 Wenchuan and 2013 Ms 7.0 Lushan earthquakes,we computed 1828 stress-drop values for earthquakes with magnitudes 1.7≤ML≤5.0 during an eight-year time span before and after major earthquakes.We divide the study area into three subregions(the southern segment of the Longmen Shan fault zone;the southwestern junction of the Longmen Shan and Sichuan Basin;and the southwestern margin of the Sichuan Basin)and calculate individual event stress drops in each.The results show that regions of alternating high and low stress drop are found on either side of the southwestern segment of the Longmen Shan fault zone.During the two-year period after the 2008 Ms 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake,the stress state of the southern Longmen Shan fault shows no significant change.A marked increase in stress level appears about 18 months before the 2013 Ms 7.0 Lushan earthquake near the Lushan hypocenter zone.Two months after the Ms 7.0 event,the stress drops suddenly attenuate,with significantly less seismic energy release per event.We find that changes in the patterns of high and low stress drop values are consistent with the process of stress accumulation or transfer from the pre-mainshock to postmainshock periods.The results indicate that major earthquakes are the dominant cause of temporal and spatial evolution in stress levels.Stress drop variations show obvious temporal and spatial patterns that may suggests subtle changes in the character of stress fields on faults and spatial variations related to local intense compression and tectonic effects. | WU Weiwei LONG Feng LIANG Mingjian WEI Yaling SUN Wei CHEN Xuefen ZHAO Jing | 2020 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,5: | 4 |

| 20 | Light-triggered nitric oxide release and structure transformation of peptide for enhanced intratumoral retention and sensitized photodynamic therapy显示文摘Tumor-targeted delivery of nanomedicine is of great importance to improve therapeutic efficacy of cancer and minimize systemic side effects.Unfortunately,nowadays the targeting efficiency of nanomedicine toward tumor is still quite limited and far from clinical requirements.In this work,we develop an innovative peptide-based nanoparticle to realize light-triggered nitric oxide(NO)release and structural transformation for enhanced intratumoral retention and simultaneously sensitizing photodynamic therapy(PDT).The designed nanoparticle is self-assembled from a chimeric peptide monomer,TPP-RRRKLVFFK-Ce6,which contains a photosensitive moiety(chlorin e6,Ce6),aβ-sheet-forming peptide domain(Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe,KLVFF),an oligoarginine domain(RRR)as NO donor and a triphenylphosphonium(TPP)moiety for targeting mitochondria.When irradiated by light,the constructed nanoparticles undergo rapid structural transformation from nanosphere to nanorod,enabling to achieve a significantly higher intratumoral accumulation by 3.26 times compared to that without light irradiation.More importantly,the conversion of generated NO and reactive oxygen species(ROS)in a light-responsive way to peroxynitrite anions(ONOO)with higher cytotoxicity enables NO to sensitize PDT in cancer treatment.Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that NO sensitized PDT based on the well-designed transformable nanoparticles enables to eradicate tumors efficiently.The light-triggered transformable nanoplatform developed in this work provides a new strategy for enhanced intratumoral retention and improved therapeutic outcome. | Lingdong Jiang Danyang Chen Zhaokui Jin Chao Xia Qingqing Xu Mingjian Fan Yunlu Dai Jia Liu Yuanpei Li Qianjun He | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,6: | 3 |
