1A general model of fatigue crack growth under variable amplitude loading显示文摘A general model of fatigue crack growth(FCG) in ductile alloys under variable amplitude loading is proposed based on the passivation-lancet theory and the crack closure concept.The model can capture the interactions of single cycle overloading and underloading,sequential loading and spectrum loading effectively.Moreover,the retardation effect due to overloads and the acceleration effect due to underloading can be described quantitatively by a transition function of crack opening stress.The fatigue test data in 2024-T351,2024-T3 and 7075-T6 aluminum alloys under different types of variable amplitude loading and spectrum loading are used to validate the general model and the predictions by the general model are in good agreement with the test data.Furthermore,the predictions are also compared with the existing models,including FASTRAN,AFGROW and the state-space model,and the comparison results show that the general model predicts the FCG process more accurately.LIU JianTao DU PingAn ZHANG ZhenYu 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,3:6
2Recent advances in fire-retardant rigid polyurethane foam显示文摘Driven by global environmental concerns,many efforts have been made to develop halogen-free flame retardants for rigid polyurethane foam(RPUF).These environmentally benign flame retardants are mainly divided into(i)reactive,(ii)additive,and(iii)coating types.The last decade has witnessed great progress of these three strategies,which enhance the fire safety of RPUF and maintain even improve the thermal insulation properties.This comprehensive review focuses on the up-to-date design of the reactive,additive,and coating flame retardants,and their effects on flame retardancy and thermal conductivity of RPUF.Moreover,the practical applications of the as-prepared flame-retardant RPUFs are highlighted.Finally,key challenges associated with these three kinds of flame retardants are discussed and future research opportunities are also proposed.Menghe Zhu Zhewen Ma Lei Liu Jianzhong Zhang Siqi Huo Pingan Song 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,17:3

5Dynamical Stability of Cantilevered Pipe Conveying Fluid with Inerter-Based Dynamic Vibration Absorber显示文摘Cantilevered pipe conveying fluid may become unstable and flutter instability would occur when the velocity of the fluid flow in the pipe exceeds a critical value.In the present study,the theoretical model of a cantilevered fluid-conveying pipe attached by an inerter-based dynamic vibration absorber(IDVA)is proposed and the stability of this dynamical system is explored.Based on linear governing equations of the pipe and the IDVA,the effects of damping coefficient,weight,inerter,location and spring stiffness of the IDVAon the critical flow velocities of the pipe system is examined.It is shown that the stability of the pipe may be significantly affected by the IDVA.In many cases,the stability of the cantilevered pipe can be enhanced by designing the parameter values of the IDVA.By solving nonlinear governing equations of the dynamical system,the nonlinear oscillations of the pipe with IDVA for sufficiently high flow velocity beyond the critical value are determined,showing that the oscillation amplitudes of the pipe can also be suppressed to some extent with a suitable design of the IDVA.Zhiyuan Liu Xin Tan Xiaobo Liu Pingan Chen Ke Yi Tianzhi Yang Qiao Ni Lin Wang 2020Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,11:2
6Sedative and hypnotic effect of freeze-dried paeoniflorin and Sini San freeze-dried powder in pentobarbital sodium-induced mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the sedative and hypnotic activity of paeoniflorin and freeze-dried Sini San powder on mice and provide a reliable method for determining the pharmacodynamic material basis of Sini San.METHODS: Male adult mice weighing 20-22 g were used in this study. Three experiments were carried out. Synergism with pentobarbital was used as an index for hypnotic effect. Loss of the righting reflex was used to determine the start of sleep.Sleep latency and sleeping time were recorded in each experiment.RESULTS: The coefficient of variation of the suprathreshold dose(55 mg/kg) was significantly lower than that of the threshold dose. The sleep latency of mice was significantly decreased, and the sleeping time of mice was significantly prolonged. 7Superhydrophobic self-extinguishing cotton fabrics for electromagnetic interference shielding and human motion detection显示文摘Multifunctional intelligent fire-safe cotton fabric promises next-generation fire-fighting uniform and sen-sor applications.However,cotton fabrics’hygroscopicity and intrinsic flammability significantly impede their potential applications in industries.Herein,we report a superhydrophobic fireproof cotton fabric(PEI-APP-PEI-MXene)generated via sequential layer-by-layer deposition of polyethyleneimine(PEI),am-monium polyphosphate(APP),and titanium carbide(MXene),followed by hydrophobic treatment with silicone elastomer.Compared to untreated cotton,the treated cotton fabric with 10 polymolecular layers exhibits∼43%and∼42%reductions in the peak heat release rate and total heat release,respectively,a desired UL-94 V-0 rating,and a high limiting oxygen index(LOI)value of 39.5 vol.%.In addition to that,the treated fabrics displayed improved electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding and motion-sensing abilities.The presented work provides a facile and effective surface modification approach to generate multifunctional cotton fabrics with promising practical applications.Lei Liu Zhewen Ma Menghe Zhu Lina Liu Jinfeng Dai Yongqian Shi Jiefeng Gao Toan Dinh Thanh Nguyen Long-Cheng Tang Pingan Song 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,1:2

10Modeling of Fatigue Crack Growth Closure Considering the Integrative Effect of Cyclic Stress Ratio,Specimen Thickness and Poisson's Ratio显示文摘Key components of large structures in aeronautics industry are required to be made light and have long enough fatigue lives.It is of vital importance to estimate the fatigue life of these structures accurately.Since the FCG process is affected by various factors,no universal model exists due to the complexity of the mechanisms.Most of the existing models are obtained by fitting the experimental data and could hardly describe the integrative effect of most existing factors simultaneously.In order to account for the integrative effect of specimen parameters,material property and loading conditions on FCG process,a new model named integrative influence factor model(IIF) is proposed based on the plasticity-induced crack closure theory.Accordingly to the predictions of crack opening ratio(γ) and effective stress intensity factor range ratio(U) with different material under various loading conditions,predictions of γ and U by the IIF model are completely identical to the theoretical results from the plane stress state to the plane strain state when Poisson's ratio equals 1/3.When Poisson's ratio equals 0.3,predictions of γ and U by the IIF model are larger than the predictions by the existing model,and more close to the theoretical results.In addition,it describes the influence of R ratios on γ and U effectively in the whole region from-1.0 to 1.0.Moreover,several sets of test data of FCG rates in 5 kinds of aluminum alloys with various specimen thicknesses under different loading conditions are used to validate the IIF model,most of the test data are situated on the predicted curves or between the two curves that represent the specimen with different thicknesses under the same stress ratio.Some of the test data slightly departure from the predictions by the IIF model due to the surface roughness and errors in measurement.Besides,based on the analysis of the physical rule of crack opening ratios,a relative thickness of specimen is defined to describe the influence of material property,specimen thickness and so forth on FCG characteristics conveniently.In conclusion,the relative thickness of specimen simplifies the expression of FCG characteristic and provides a general parameter to analyze the fatigue characteristics of different materials with various thicknesses under different loading conditions.The IIF model describes the integrative effect of existing influence factors explicitly and quantitatively,and provides a helpful tool for fatigue property estimation of practical component and experiment design.LIU Jiantao DU Pingan LIU Xiaobao DU Qiang 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,4:1
11Identification and formation of sulfur-containing steroids in sulfur-rich heavy oils in the Jinxian Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,North China显示文摘High abundant sulfur-containing steroids were identified and detected in saturate hydrocarbon fractions of heavy oil with a high sulfur content in the Jinxian Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,North China.These sulfur-containing steroids were structurally merged into the D-ring of steroid nucleus with thiophene ring and/or combined into the C-22 in the side-chain.Based on the previous reports of sulfur-containing steroids with methylthio-steroids and intra-molecular form,four formation mechanisms of sulfur-containing steroids and diagenetic pathway of steroids under S-rich conditions were proposed in this paper according to the double bond positions in the sterene compounds.Hydrogenation and sulfurization both occurred in the diagenetic processes of olefinic bond in the side-chain of steroids:abiogenic chemical hydrogenation of H2S and HS-leads to the formation of regular steranes;a successful sulfurization process leads to the formation of the side-chain sulfur-containing steroids whereas unsuccessful cyclization and/or sulfurization result in the generation of short-chain steranes.This kind of mechanism of hydrogenation/sulfurization of side-chain olefinic bond provides a potential genesis clue for the occurrence of high abundance of short-chain steranes(higher than the common regular steroids,phytane and n-alkanes)in S-rich heavy oils and source rocks in the Jinxian Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,North China.LU Hong WANG QingTao JIANG LinXiang ZHANG Hui LIU JinZhong SHENG GuoYing PENG PingAn 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,11:1

14Atom-economic synthesis of an oligomeric P/N-containing fire retardant towards fire-retarding and mechanically robust polylactide biocomposites显示文摘Renewable and biodegradable polylactide (PLA) has excellent mechanical strength but is highly flammable which restricts its practical applications. Many phosphorus/nitrogen (P/N)-based flame retardants are ef- fective in PLA, but their high addition loading usually decreases the mechanical strength of the PLA bulk. For polyphosphoramides, despite high fire-retardant efficiency, their chemical synthesis often generates chemical wastes as byproducts. Herein, we report an atom-economic and highly efficient oligomeric P/N fire retardant (APN) prepared using a mild Michael addition polymerization with no byproducts. Using only 3 wt% APN, the resulting PLA exhibits desired fire retardancy including a UL-94 V-0 rating and a limiting oxygen index of 37.6%. Furthermore, the toughness of the fire-retardant PLA increases by 85% compared to pure PLA, with both tensile strength and thermal stability preserved. 18Study of genetic evolution of oil inclusion and density of surface oil by measurement of fluorescence lifetime of crude oil and oil inclusion显示文摘By using fluorescence lifetime image microscope(FLIM)and time-correlated single photon counting(TCSPC)technique,we measured fluorescence lifetime of crude oils with density of 0.9521-0.7606 g/cm^3 and multiple petroleum inclusions from Tazhong uplift of Tarim Basin.As indicated by the test results,crude oil density is closely correlated with average fluorescence lifetime following the regression equation Y=-0.0319X+0.9411,which can thus be used to calculate density of oil inclusions in relation to fluorescence lifetime and density of corresponding surface crude.For type A oil inclusions showing brown-yellow fluorescence from Tazhong 1 well in Tarim Basin,their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 2.144-2.765ns,so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.852-0.873 g/cm^3,indicating that they are matured oil inclusions trapped at earlier stage of oil formation.For type B oil inclusions with light yellow-white fluorescence,their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 4.029-4.919 ns,so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.784-0.812 g/cm^3,indicating that they are higher matured oil inclusions trapped at the second stage of oil formation.For type C oil inclusions showing light blue-green fluorescence,their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 5.063-6.168 ns,so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.743-0.779g/cm^3,indicating that they are highly-matured light oil inclusions trapped at the third stage of oil formation.LIU DeHan XIAO XianMing CHENG Peng SUN YongGe TIAN Hui PENG PingAn 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,1:1
19A Layered Chitosan/Graphene Oxide Sponge as Reusable Adsorbent for Removal of Heavy Metal Ions显示文摘Along with the growing severity of environment problem and energy crisis, it is inevitable to develop novel materials, which are contributed to the removal of hazardous pollutants from contaminated water. Herein, we reported a fhcile method for the preparation of free-standing chitosan/graphene oxide(CS/GO) composite sponges with low density, where CS/GO mixtures were first synthesized by tlie homogeneous reaction of chitosan and graphene oxide in aqueous acetic acid solution;then CS/GO sponges were obtained by lyophilizing the suspension, which were prefrozen at -20 ℃ and in liquid nitrogen successively. The obtained layered sponge showed good water- driven shape memory effect and was a good adsorbent of Co^2+ and Ni^2+ witli a large adsorption capacity of 224.8 and 423.7 mg/g, respectively. Importantly, the successive adsorption-desorption studies employing CS/GO sponge indicated that the composite could be regenerated by HC1 solution and reused in more than five cycles with regeneration efficiency beyond 80%.
