| 1 | APPLICATION OF FINITE ELEMENT METHOD TO COMPARING THE NIR STENT WITH THE MULTI-LINK STENT FOR NARROWINGS IN CORONARY ARTERIES显示文摘‘Stent versus stent' studies are a kind of randomized trials which are designed to show the superiority of the new stent designs compared with the previously approved ones. These studies are usually used by regulatory agencies, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration(FDA), to give an approval to new stent designs. The problem with these clinical trials is their high cost and difficulty. In this paper, a numerical alternative for ‘stent versus stent' complicated clinical studies is presented. A finite element model is developed to investigate the influence of stent design on the outcome after coronary stent placement. Two commercially available stents(the NIR and Multi-Link stents) are modeled and their behavior during the deployment is compared in terms of stress distribution, radial gain, outer diameter changes and foreshortening. Moreover,the effect of stent design on the restenosis rate is investigated by comparing the stress distribution within the arteries. An analysis of the arterial wall stresses in the stented arteries indicates that the Multi-Link stent design causes lower stress to an atherosclerotic vessel with a localized stenotic lesion compared to the slotted tube NIR design. | 2 | Histogram of the node strength and histogram of the edge weight: two new features for RGB-D person re-identification显示文摘Person re-identification is a classical task for any multi-camera surveillance system. Most of the existing researches on re-identification are based on features extracted from RGB images. However,there are many deficiencies in RGB image processing, some of which are requiring a lot of illumination and high computation. In this paper, novel features are proposed for RGB-D person re-identification. First, the complex network approach in texture recognition is modified and its threshold function is changed for using in depth images extracted by RGB-D sensors. Then, two novel measurements named the histogram of the edge weight(HEW) and the histogram of the node strength(HNS) are introduced on complex networks.Our features fit both single-shot and multi-shot person re-identification. In the single-shot case, the HNS is extracted from only one frame while for the multi-shot case it is extracted from both one frame and multi-frames. These proposed measurements are called histogram of the spatial node strength(HSNS)and histogram of the temporal node strength(HTNS) respectively. Subsequently, these measurements are combined with skeleton features using score-level fusion. | 3 | Design of a multiplex PCR method for detection of toxigenicpathogenic in Vibrio cholerae显示文摘Objective:To study virulence and regulatory genes(hlyA,ctxB,tcpI) in clinical strains of Vibrio ckolerae(V.cholerae),simultaneously.Methods:Three important genes,tepI,hlyA and ctxB were used for detection of toxigenic and pathogenic V.cholera by chain reaction assay method. | 5 | Texosome-based drug delivery system for cancer therapy: from past to present显示文摘Rising worldwide cancer incidence and resistance to current anti-cancer drugs necessitate the need for new pharmaceutical compounds and drug delivery system. Malfunction of the immune system, particularly in the tumor microenvironment, causes tumor growth and enhances tumor progression. Thus, cancer immunotherapy can be an appropriate approach to provoke the systemic immune system to combat tumor expansion. Texosomes, which are endogenous nanovesicles released by all tumor cells, contribute to cell-cell communication and modify the phenotypic features of recipient cells due to the texosomes' ability to transport biological components. For this reason, texosome-based delivery system can be a valuable strategy for therapeutic purposes. To improve the pharmaceutical behavior of this system and to facilitate its use in medical applications, biotechnology approaches and mimetic techniques have been utilized.
