1Surveillance, epidemiology, and pathogen spectrum of hand, foot, and mouth disease in mainland of China from 2008 to 2017显示文摘Hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)was reported in May 2,2008 to be the 38th legally notifiable disease in China's National Notifiable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System.In order to solve the infection,an extensive three-level HFMD surveillance laboratory network was established.In this study,the framework of that network is assessed and the incidence of HFMD in China from 2008 to 2017 is reported using a descriptive epidemiologic method.During these 10 years,a series of techniques have been widely applied in all the network laboratories.Using information and material obtained from the network,a virus bank and database containing 18,238 viruses were established.Nationally,18,184,834 HFMD cases,including 152,436 severe cases and 3633 fatal cases,were reported in mainland of China.The average annual incidence in the population was 133.99/100,000 people,with a maximum incidence of 205.06/100,000 people in 2014.The incidence and mortality rates of HFMD were the highest in children aged 1–2 years.The numbers of reported cases fluctuated,with a high incidence observed every 2 years.An overall increase in the number of reported cases was also observed throughout the study period.Despite this,the incidence of severe cases and the mortality rate have been decreasing.High-risk regions are located in southern,eastern,and central China.Two peaks of HFMD infection cases were observed annually except for Northeast China.Different proportions of enterovirus serotypes were observed during the studied years.The predominant enterovirus varies from year to year,but the disease severity is always closely related to the specific serotype.EV-A71 is the dominant serotype associated with severe and fatal cases,with constituent ratios of 70.03%and 92.23%,respectively.The studied highly sensitive and efficient surveillance network provides information that is critical for prevention and control of the disease.It is extremely necessary and important to continuously conduct extensive virological surveillance for HFMD.Tianjiao Ji Taoli Han Xiaojuan Tan Shuangli Zhu Dongmei Yan Qian Yang Yang Song Aili Cui Yan Zhang Naiying Mao Songtao Xu Zhen Zhu Dandan Niu Yong Zhang Wenbo Xu 2019Biosafety and Health2019,1,1:26

3Identification of key factors governing chemistry in groundwater near the water course recharged by reclaimed water at Miyun County, Northern China显示文摘Reclaimed water was successfully used to recover the dry Chaobai River in Northern China, but groundwater may be polluted. To ensure groundwater protection, it is therefore critical to identify the governing factors of groundwater chemistry. Samples of reclaimed water, river and groundwater were collected monthly at Chaobai River from January to September in 2010. Fifteen water parameters were analyzed. Two kinds of reclaimed water were different in type (Na-Ca-Mg-Cl-HCO3 or Na-Ca-Cl-HCO3 ) and concentration of nitrogen. The ionic concentration and type in river were similar to reclaimed water. Some shallow wells near the river bed had the same type (Na-Ca-Mg-Cl-HCO3 ) and high concentration as reclaimed water, but others were consistent with the deep wells (Ca-Mg-HCO3 ). Using cluster analysis, the 9 months were divided into two periods (dry and wet seasons), and all samples were grouped into several spatial clusters, indicating different controlling mechanisms. Principal component analysis and conventional ionic plots showed that calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate were controlled by water-rock interaction in all deep and some shallow wells. This included the dissolution of calcite and carbonate weathering. Sodium, potassium, chloride and sulfate in river and some shallow wells recharged by river were governed by evaporation crystallization and mixing of reclaimed water. But groundwater chemistry was not controlled by precipitation. During the infiltration of reclaimed water, cation exchange took place between (sodium, potassium) and (calcium, magnesium). 4PhERF2,an ethylene-responsive element binding factor,plays an essential role in waterlogging tolerance of petunia显示文摘Ethylene-responsive element binding factors(ERFs)are involved in regulation of various stress responses in plants,but their biological functions in waterlogging stress are largely unclear.In this study,we identified a petunia(Petunia×hybrida)ERF gene,PhERF2,that was significantly induced by waterlogging in wild-type(WT).To study the regulatory role of PhERF2 in waterlogging responses,transgenic petunia plants with RNAi silencing and overexpression of PhERF2 were generated.Compared with WT plants,PhERF2 silencing compromised the tolerance of petunia seedlings to waterlogging,shown as 96%mortality after 4 days waterlogging and 14 days recovery,while overexpression of PhERF2 improved the survival of seedlings subjected to waterlogging.PhERF2-RNAi lines exhibited earlier and more severe leaf chlorosis and necrosis than WT,whereas plants overexpressing PhERF2 showed promoted growth vigor under waterlogging.Chlorophyll content was dramatically lower in PhERF2-silenced plants than WT or overexpression plants.Typical characteristics of programmed cell death(PCD),DNA condensation,and moon-shaped nuclei were only observed in PhERF2-overexpressing lines but not in PhERF2-RNAi or control lines.Furthermore,transcript abundances of the alcoholic fermentation-related genes ADH1-1,ADH1-2,ADH1-3,PDC1,and PDC2 were reduced in PhERF2-silenced plants,but increased in PhERF2-overexpressing plants following exposure to 12-h waterlogging.In contrast,expression of the lactate fermentation-related gene LDH was up-regulated in PhERF2-silenced plants,but downregulated in its overexpressing plants.Moreover,PhERF2 was observed to directly bind to the ADH1-2 promoter bearing ATCTA motifs.Our results demonstrate that PhERF2 contributes to petunia waterlogging tolerance through modulation of PCD and alcoholic fermentation system.Dongmei Yin Daoyang Sun Zhuqing Han Dian Ni Ayla Norris Cai-Zhong Jiang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:6
5The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 7A Semantic Retrieval Model Based on Domain Ontology of Orchard Disease and Pests显示文摘Ontology-based semantic retrieval can improve the efficiency of information retrieval. This paper proposes a semantic retrieval model based on domain ontology of orchard disease and pests. According to Forestry Thesaurus, we semi-automatically construct a domain ontology and repair ontology inconsistency to ensure the accuracy and uniqueness of the domain knowledge. A concept similarity algorithm is proposed and applied to calculate sentence similarity. We present a synthetic sentence similarity algorithm, which is a combination of the traditional sentence similarity algorithm and the weighted sentence similarity algorithm. 9Design, Synthesis and Insecticidal Activities of Novel 5-Alkoxyfuran-5(H)-one Derivatives显示文摘A series of novel 5?alkoxyfuran-2(5H)-one derivatives was synthesized, and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. Biological activities of all the title compounds were evaluated systematically. Preliminary bioassays indicated that most of the compounds exhibited moderate insecticidal activities against Aphis craccivora and Nilaparvata lugens at 100 mg/L. Compounds 4h and 4w exhibited 100% mortality rate against Aphis craccivora at 100 mg/L, and compound 4h exhibited good mortality rate against Aphis craccivora and Nilaparvata lugens (60% and 75%, respectively) even at 4 mg/L. 10Experimental test of error-disturbance uncertainty relation with continuous variables显示文摘The uncertainty relation is one of the fundamental principles in quantum mechanics and plays an important role in quantum information science. We experimentally test the error-disturbance uncertainty relation(EDR) with continuous variables for Gaussian states. 12Highly sensitive response to dopamine at a modified electrode involving a composite film with Au nanoparticles dispersed in a fluorocarbon polymer显示文摘A new approach for the highly sensitive detection of dopamine by a novel composite film involving gold nanoparticles trapped in a negatively-charged fluorocarbon polymer (Nafion) on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode fabricated by a simple method is described. Gold nanoparticles with an average diameter of 2.3 nm ± 0.2 nm are dispersed throughout the whole Nafion film. The introduction of gold nanoparticles into the Nafion film not only gives a highly active electrode surface area but also increases the conductivity of the Nafion film and the resulting Au/Nafion/GC electrode combines the advantages of the properties of gold nanoparticles and the selective pre-concentration ability of Nafion. For positively charged dopamine, the results show a decrease in the redox peak separation and a high sensitivity. The oxidation peak current of dopamine was shown to vary linearly with dopamine concentration over a wide range from 0.4 to 50.0 μmol/L with a detection limit of 0.3 μmol/L. 14Adjunctive sepsis therapy with aminophylline(STAP):a randomized controlled trial显示文摘Background:Sepsis is a serious disease caused by infection.Aminophylline has anti-asthma and anti-inflammatory effects.We aimed to explore the safety and effect of aminophylline in sepsis.Methods:We conducted a clinical randomized controlled trial involving 100 patients diagnosed with sepsis within 48 h after intensive care unit(ICU)admission in two sites.All patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive standard therapy with or without aminophylline.The primary clinical outcome was all-cause mortality at 28 days.Results:From September 27,2018 to February 12,2020,we screened 277 septic patients and eventually enrolled 100 patients,with 50 assigned to the aminophylline group and 50 to the usual-care group.At 28 days,7 of 50 patients(14.0%)in the aminophylline group had died,compared with 16 of 50(32.0%)in the usual-care group(P=0.032).Cox regression showed that the aminophylline group had a lower hazard of death(hazard ratio=0.312,95%confidence interval:0.129–0.753).Compared with the usual-care group,patients in the aminophylline group had a longer survival time(P=0.039 by the log-rank test).The effects of aminophylline on vasopressor dose,oxygenation index,and sequential organ failure assessment score were timedependent with treatment.There were no significant differences in total hospitalization days,ICU hospitalization days,and rates of serious adverse events(all P>0.05).No adverse events were observed in the trial.Conclusions:Aminophylline as an adjunct therapy could significantly reduce the risk of death and prolong the survival time of patients with sepsis.Trial registration:ChiCTR.org.cn,ChiCTR1800019173.Ruifang Zhang Huan Liu Dongmei Dai Xianfei Ding Dong Wang Yan Wang Xuexiu Shi Shuguang Zhang Xiaoguang Duan Haixu Wang Yonggang Luo Shaohua Liu Bing Han Xiaojuan Zhang Yu Fang Jing Yang Wangbin Xu Tongwen Sun 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,23:2
