2Seven-day triple therapy is a better choice for Helicobacter pylori eradication in regions with low antibiotic resistance显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether 7-d triple therapies are still valid in populations with low levels of resistance.METHODS: A total of 1106 Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori)-positive patients were divided into three groups,each of which received one type of 7-d triple therapy. Therapeutic outcomes of the patients were assessed by the 13C-urea breath test at 8 wk after treatment. The susceptibility of H. pylori to antibiotics was determined by an agar-dilution method. Data analysis was performed by χ2 tests.RESULTS: The eradication rates in groups A,B and C were 90.71%(332/366),90.46%(313/346) and 90.87%(189/208),respectively(P = 0.986). The resistance rates were 8.91% for clarithromycin,14.78% for levofloxacin and 0% for amoxicillin. The eradication rate was significantly different between clarithromycin-and levofloxacin-resistant patients(P < 0.05) in group A. Patients whose treatment failed in group A also had a higher clarithromycin resistance rate than did successive patients(P = 0.034). However,levofloxacin resistance had no obvious influence on the eradication rate. Furthermore,three main antibiotics(clarithromycin,levofloxacin and amoxicillin) had lower DID(defined daily dose per 1000 inhabitants per day) in this city.CONCLUSION: Clarithromycin resistance is the main reason for the failure of 7-d triple therapy. In populations with low levels of resistance,a 7-d triple therapy is a viable choice. 4Aftershock sequence relocation of the 2021 M_(S)7.4 Maduo Earthquake, Qinghai, China显示文摘The 2021 Qinghai Maduo M_(S)7.4 earthquake was one of the strongest earthquakes that occurred in the Bayan Har block of the Tibetan Plateau during the past 30 years,which spatially filled in the gap of strong earthquake in the eastern section of the northern block boundary.In this study,the aftershock sequence within 8 days after the mainshock was relocated by double difference algorithm.The results show that the total length of the aftershock zone is approximately 170 km;the mainshock epicenter is located in the center of the aftershock zone,indicating a bilateral rupture.The aftershocks are mainly distributed along NWW direction with an overall strike of 285°.The focal depth profiles indicate that the seismogenic fault is nearly vertical and dips to southwest or northeast in different sections,indicating a complex geometry.There is an aftershock gap located to the southeast of the mainshock epicenter with a scale of approximately 20 km.At the eastern end of the aftershock zone,horsetaillike branch faults show the terminal effect of a large strike-slip fault.There is a NW-trending aftershock zone on the north side of the western section,which may be a branch fault triggered by the mainshock.The location of the aftershock sequence is close to the eastern section of the Kunlun Mountain Pass-Jiangcuo(KMPJ)fault.The sequence overlaps well with surface trace of the KMPJ fault.We speculate that the KMPJ fault is the main seismogenic fault of the M_(S)7.4 Maduo earthquake.Weilai WANG Lihua FANG Jianping WU Hongwei TU Liyi CHEN Guijuan LAI Long ZHANG 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,8:11

6Lipid analysis of three special nervonic acid resources in China显示文摘Nervonic acid plays an important role in nutrition and function of the human body.Malania oleifera,Acer truncatum and Xanthoceras sorbifolium are China’s unique woody plant rich in nervonic acid in seed oil.This study aims to investigate the lipid composition of these 3 special resources.Their fatty acids were detected by gas chromatography coupled with flame detector(GC-FID).Triglycerides(TAGs)and phospholipids(PLs)were detected by shotgun-mass spectrometry(shotgun-MS).Results showed that M.oleifera oil presented the highest level of nervonic acid(46.20±0.22%)among the 3 oils.Seeds oil of A.truncatum and X.sorbifolium had 3.53±0.20%and 1.83±0.21%nervonic acid respectively.53 species of TAGs and 15 species of PLs were identified in M.oleifera oil,with PLs content of 499.94±22.34μg/g.In A.truncatum oil,PL and TAG species were twice more than those in M.oleifera oil,and its’content of PLs was 76.27±3.21μg/g.In X.sorbifolium oil,75 TAGs and 34 PLs were detected,with the lowest PLs at 23.84±0.17μg/g.The results demonstrated that these 3 vegetable oils have great potential to become nervonic acid supplements for human health.Xinghao Tu Jingya Wan Ya Xie Fang Wei Siewyoung Quek Xin Lv Liqing Du Hong Chen 2020Oil Crop Science2020,5,4:7

9A New Approach for Refining Carbide Dimensions in M42 Super Hard High-speed Steel显示文摘Obtaining small carbides is crucial but difficult for high-speed steels.A new approach for refining carbide dimensions in M42 super hard high-speed steel by increasing cooling rate and spheroidizing treatment was proposed.The morphologies and properties of eutectic carbides formed at different cooling rates were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD)and differential scanning calorimeter(DSC).The results show that eutectic carbides change from a lamellar shape into a curved-rod shape as cooling rate increases.Despite different morphologies,the two carbides are both of M_2C type with a hexagonal close-packed structure and display a single crystal orientation in one eutectic colony.The morphology of M_2C mainly depends on the growing process of eutectic carbides,which is strongly influenced by cooling rate.Compared with lamellar carbides,M_2C carbides with curved-rod shapes are less stable,and decompose into M_6 C and MC at lower temperatures.They are more inclined to spheroidize during heating,which ultimately and distinguishably refines the carbide dimensions.As small carbides are much easier to dissolve into matrices during austenization,the process described herein improves the supersaturation of alloying elements in martensite,which leads to an increment of hardness in M42 steel.Xue-feng ZHOU Wang-long ZHU Hong-bing JIANG Feng FANG Yi-you TU Jian-qing JIANG 2016Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2016,23,8:7

11Morphology,microstructure and decomposition behavior of M2C carbides in high speed steel显示文摘The morphology,microstructure and decomposition behavior of M_2C carbides in high speed steels with different chemical compositions have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,electron backscatter diffraction and X-ray diffraction.The results show that the morphology and substructure of M_2C carbides are very sensitive to chemical compositions of high speed steels.M_2C carbides present the plate-like shape in tungsten-molybdenum steel and present the polycrystal orientation in the eutectic cell.In contrast,they show the fibrous shape in molybdenum-base steel and exhibit the monocrystal orientation.Plate-like and fibrous M_2C carbides are both metastable and decompose into M6 C together with MC at high temperatures.MC nucleates inside the plate-like M_2C while it is formed at the fibrous M2C/matrix interface during the decomposition process.Such differences are expected to arise from different compositions of plate-like and fibrous M_2C carbides.Xue-feng Zhou Di Liu Wang-long Zhu Feng Fang Yi-you Tu Jian-qing Jiang 2017Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2017,24,1:6
12High levels of circulating GM-CSF^(+) CD4^(+) T cells are predictive of poor outcomes in sepsis patients: a prospective cohort study显示文摘Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF),produced by CD4^(+)T cells,has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases,such as multiple sclerosis and juvenile arthritis.However,the role of GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in sepsis remains unknown.This study reports peripheral changes in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in septic patients and the possible underlying mechanism by which GM-CSF influences the outcome of sepsis.Forty-three septic patients,20 SIRS patients,and 20 healthy controls were enrolled in this study and followed for 28 days to assess mortality.We measured the peripheral frequency of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells and recorded their associated relationship with disease progression.Our data demonstrated that peripheral GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells were significantly higher in septic patients than in both SIRS patients and healthy controls.These cells exhibit a memory phenotype and impaired IFN-γ-secreting capacity in sepsis patients.Using a receiver operating curve analysis with 8.01%as a cut-off point,the percentage of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells could predict the outcome of septic patients.Combined with the increase in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells,inflammatory cytokines IL-1βand IL-6 were also upregulated.Using an in vitro neutrophil model,we found that GM-CSF inhibited C3aR expression,while inducing IL-8 production.Furthermore,this effect was transferrable in plasma from sepsis patients and was attenuated by inhibition of GM-CSF using an anti-GM-CSF antibody.These results indicate that GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells may serve as a marker of sepsis severity.Thus,targeting GM-CSF overproduction may benefit sepsis patients.Huihuang Huang Siyu Wang Tianjun Jiang Rong Fan Zheng Zhang Jinsong Mu Ke Li Yonggang Wang Lei Jin Fang Lin Jie Xia Lijian Sun Biao Xu Chengcheng Ji Jing Chen Juan Chang Bo Tu Bing Song Chao Zhang Fu-Sheng Wang Ruonan Xu 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6:6

14Effects of Epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation and Treadmill Training on Locomotion Function and Ultrastructure of Spinal Cord Anterior Horn after Moderate Spinal Cord Injury in Rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of epidural spinal cord stimulation(ESCS) and treadmill training on the locomotion function and ultrastructure of spinal cord anterior horn after moderate spinal cord injury in rats.Method:Nine adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly distributed into three groups:①spinal cord injury group(SI,n=3).②spinal cord injury plus ESCS group(SE,n=3).③spinal cord injury plus treadmill training group(TT,n=3).All rats received a moderate spinal cord injury surgery.Four weeks after surgery,rats in SE group received an electrode implantation procedure,with the electrode field covering spinal cord segments L2-S1.Four weeks after electrode implantation,rats received subthreshold ESCS for 30 min/d.Rats in TT group received 4cm/s treadmill training for 30min/d.Rats in SI group received no intervention,as a control group.All procedures in these three groups lasted four weeks.The open field Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan(BBB) scale was used before and after intervention to evaluate rats' hindlimb motor function.Result:After four weeks intervention,rats in TT group improved their open field locomotion scores to 20.In contrast,no significant improvement was observed in groups SI and SE.The morphology of synapses and neurons were similar regardless of whether rats had undergone ESCS,treadmill training or not.Conclusion:ESCS alone was not sufficient to improve the walking ability of spinal cord injured rats.ESCS or treadmill training alone might not contribute to the changes of ultrastructure in anterior horn of spinal cord that underlie the recovery of walking ability.Further research is needed to understand the contributions of combination of ESCS and treadmill training to the rehabilitation of spinal cord injured rats.WANG Yizhao HUANG Xiaolin XU Jiang XU Tao FANG Zhengyu XU Qi TU Xikai YANG Peipei 2009中国康复医学杂志2009,24,6:4
15Guanxinning tablet inhibits the interaction between leukocyte integrin Mac-1 and platelet GPIbαfor antithrombosis without increased bleeding risk显示文摘Recent studies have showed that thrombosis is closely related to leucocytes involved in immunity.Interfering with the binding of leukocyte integrin Mac-1 and platelet GPIbαcan inhibit thrombosis without affecting physiological coagulation.Mac-1-GPIbαis proposed as a potential safety target for antithrombotic agents.Guanxinning tablet(GXNT)is an oral Chinese patent medicine used for the treatment of angina pectoris,which contains phenolic acid active ingredients,such as salvianolic acids,ferulic acid,chlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,rosmarinic acid,tanshinol,and protocatechualdehyde.Our previous studies demonstrated that GXN exhibited significant antithrombotic effects,and clinical studies suggested that it did not increase bleeding risk.In addition,GXN exerted a significantly regulatory effect on immune inflammation.In the current study,we intended to evaluate the effects of GXN on bleeding events and explore the safety antithrombotic mechanism of GXN based on leukocyte-platelet interaction.First,we established a gastric ulcer model induced by acetic acid in rats and found that GXN not only did not increase the degree of gastrointestinal bleeding when gastric ulcer occurred,but also had a certain promoting effect on the healing of gastric ulcer.Second,in vitroexperiments showed that after pretreatment with GXN and activation by phorbol 12-myristate-13-acetate(PMA),the adhesion and aggregation of leukocytes with human platelets were reduced.It was also found that GXN reduced the expression and activation of Mac-1 in leucocytes,and inhibited platelet activation due to leukocyte engagement via Mac-1.Overall,the results suggest that GXN may be a safe antithrombotic agent,and its low bleeding risk mechanism is probably related to inhibited leukocyte-platelet aggregation and its interaction target Mac-1-GPIbα.YANG Qin-Qin FANG Ming-Sun TU Jue MA Quan-Xin SHEN Li-Ye XU Yan-Yun CHEN Jie CHEN Min-Li 2022Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2022,20,8:4

18Antibiotics and immunotherapy in gastrointestinal tumors: Friend or foe?显示文摘The incidence of gastrointestinal (GI) tumors is increasing year by year, and its pathogenesis is closely related to the intestinal flora. At present, the use of antibiotics is very common in the clinic. And cancer patients with low immunity are vulnerable to all sorts of infections, such as respiratory tract infections and urinary tract infections. Moreover, cancer patients easily run into fever and neutropenia induced by myelosuppression. Therefore, antibiotics are used extensively and even overused in many conditions. However, because of the special anatomical location of the gastrointestinal tract, the antibiotic usage will bring changes to the intestinal flora. Besides, with the expanding popularity of immunotherapy, various factors affecting the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been extensively explored, including cancer-associated inflammation and the local and systemic factors that lead to immunosuppression. Some biomarkers for ICIs, including the expression of PD-L1, tumor mutation load, and microbiota, also have been investigated, and many studies have confirmed that gut microbiota can affect the efficacy of immunotherapy. But further studies on the influence of antibiotics directly on immunotherapy are rare. 19Liquid Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry for Analysis of Acylcarnitines in Dried Blood Specimens Collected at Autopsy from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit显示文摘Objective To investigate the feasibility of analyzing acylcarnitine in dry filter-paper blood spots by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS) which could be applied to detect inborn errors of metabolism in neonates.Methods We obtained filter-paper blood from 26 dead infants from a neonatal intensive care unit(NICU) between October 1,2008 and September 30,2009.Acylcarnitine and amino acid profiles were obtained with LC-MS/MS.Four infants underwent routine autopsy.The postmortem blood specimens were compared with newborn blood specimens,and with specimens obtained from older infants with metabolic disorders.Results Of all the 26 patients,5(19.2%) were diagnosed as having different kinds of diseases:3 with methylmalonic acidemia(the concentration of C3,and the ratio of C3/C16,C3/C2 increased),1 with maple syrup urine disease(the concentration of leucine and isoleucine increased),and 1 with isovaleric aci-demia(the concentration of C5 increased).Conclusions Postmortem metabolic test can explain infant deaths and provide estimates of deaths attributable to inborn errors of metabolism in NICU.LC-MS/MS is suitable for analysis of postmortem specimens and can be considered for routine application in NICU autopsy.Wen-jun Tu Fang Dai Xin-yu Wang Ying Li James Jian Ho 2010Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2010,25,2:2
