1Zircon U-Pb geochronological framework of Qitianling granite batholith, middle part of Nanling Range, South China显示文摘The Qitianling granite batholith (QGB) is located in the southern Hunan Province, middle part of the Nanling Range, South China. Its total exposure area is about 520 km2. Based on our 25 single grain zircon U-Pb age data and 7 published data as well as the geological, petrological, and space distribution characteristics, we conclude that QGB is an Early Yanshanian (Jurassic) multi-staged composite pluton. Its formation process can be subdivided into three major stages. The first stage, emplaced at 163―160 Ma with a peak at about 161 Ma, is mainly composed of hornblende-biotite monzonitic granites and locally biotite granites, and distributed in the eastern, northern, and western peripheral parts of the pluton. The second stage, emplaced at 157―153 Ma with a peak at 157―156 Ma, is mainly composed of biotite granites and locally containing hornblende, and distributed in the middle and southeastern parts of the pluton. The third stage, emplaced at 150―146 Ma with a peak at about 149 Ma, is mainly composed of fine-grained (locally porphyritic) biotite granites, and distributed in the middle-southern part of the pluton. Each stage can be further disintegrated into several granite bodies. The first two intrusive stages comprise the major phase of QGB, and the third intrusive stage comprises the additional phase. Many second stage fine-grained granite bosses and dykes intruded into the first stage host granites with clear chilling margin-baking phenomena at their intrusive contacts. They were emplaced in the open fracture space of the earlier stage consolidated rocks. Their isotopic ages are mostly 2―6 Ma younger than their hosts. Conceivably, the time interval from magma emplacement, through cooling, crystallization, solidification, up to fracturing of the earlier stage granites cannot exceed 2―6 Ma. During the Middle-Late Jurassic in the Qitianling area and neighboring Nanling Range, the coeval granitic and basic-intermediate magmatic activities were widely developed. It indicates that the Early Yanshanian period was the culmination time of magmatic activities in this region. The Nanling Range was under a post-orogenic, intracontinental geotectonic environment with an obvious lithospheric extension and thinning. 2Mapping the permafrost stability on the Tibetan Plateau for 2005–2015显示文摘Data scarcity is a major obstacle for high-resolution mapping of permafrost on the Tibetan Plateau(TP).This study produces a new permafrost stability distribution map for the 2010 s(2005–2015)derived from the predicted mean annual ground temperature(MAGT)at a depth of zero annual amplitude(10–25 m)by integrating remotely sensed freezing degree-days and thawing degree-days,snow cover days,leaf area index,soil bulk density,high-accuracy soil moisture data,and in situ MAGT measurements from 237 boreholes on the TP by using an ensemble learning method that employs a support vector regression model based on distance-blocked resampled training data with 200 repetitions.Validation of the new permafrost map indicates that it is probably the most accurate of all currently available maps.This map shows that the total area of permafrost on the TP,excluding glaciers and lakes,is approximately 115.02(105.47–129.59)×10^4 km^2.The areas corresponding to the very stable,stable,semi-stable,transitional,and unstable types are 0.86×10^4,9.62×10^4,38.45×10^4,42.29×10^4,and 23.80×10^4 km^2,respectively.This new map is of fundamental importance for engineering planning and design,ecosystem management,and evaluation of the permafrost change in the future on the TP as a baseline.Youhua RAN Xin LI Guodong CHENG Zhuotong NAN Jinxing CHE Yu SHENG Qingbai WU Huijun JIN Dongliang LUO Zhiguang TANG Xiaobo WU 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,1:11

4Intelligent coding metasurface holograms by physics-assisted unsupervised generative adversarial network显示文摘Intelligent coding metasurface is a kind of information-carrying metasurface that can manipulate electromagnetic waves and associate digital information simultaneously in a smart way.One of its widely explored applications is to develop advanced schemes of dynamic holographic imaging.By now,the controlling coding sequences of the metasurface are usually designed by performing iterative approaches,including the Gerchberg–Saxton(GS)algorithm and stochastic optimization algorithm,which set a large barrier on the deployment of the intelligent coding metasurface in many practical scenarios with strong demands on high efficiency and capability.Here,we propose an efficient non-iterative algorithm for designing intelligent coding metasurface holograms in the context of unsupervised conditional generative adversarial networks(cGANs),which is referred to as physics-driven variational auto-encoder(VAE)cGAN(VAE-cGAN).Sharply different from the conventional cGAN with a harsh requirement on a large amount of manual-marked training data,the proposed VAE-cGAN behaves in a physics-driving way and thus can fundamentally remove the difficulties in the conventional cGAN.Specifically,the physical operation mechanism between the electric-field distribution and metasurface is introduced to model the VAE decoding module of the developed VAE-cGAN.Selected simulation and experimental results have been provided to demonstrate the state-of-the-art reliability and high efficiency of our VAE-cGAN.It could be faithfully expected that smart holograms could be developed by deploying our VAE-cGAN on neural network chips,finding more valuable applications in communication,microscopy,and so on.Che Liu Wen Ming Yu Qian Ma Lianlin Li Tie Jun Cui 2021Photonics Research2021,9,4:7
5Variability in the composition and export of silica in the Huanghe River Basin显示文摘Concentrations of suspended particle material(SPM), dissolved silicate(DSi), biogenic silica(BSi), phytoliths(plant produced siliceous microscopic structures), and other parameters were analyzed to examine the influence of both natural processes and human activities on silica delivery to the estuary of the Huanghe River(Yellow River). Our results indicate that the concentrations of DSi in the river decreased significantly since 1986. Approximately 34% of dissolved silica was trapped in the basin between 1986 and 2010 due to a reduction of soil erosion. Phytoliths comprised 67.2%–96.3% of BSi, with the smoothing bar type being the dominant form. Concentrations of BSi are significantly higher in the Huanghe River compared to other major rivers throughout the world due to its high sediment yield. We also found that the ratios of BSi/(BSi+DSi) and BSi/SPM were approximately 0.5 and 0.003 at Lijin near the river mouth, indicating that BSi carried in suspension by the Huanghe River was an important component of the rivers silica load. Significant amounts of BSi were also composed of phytoliths in Bohai Sea sediments near the Huanghe River estuary with the smoothing bar form again being the most abundant. The relatively high specific fluxes of BSi in the Huanghe River reflect its high turbidity and high erosion rates in the basin. The high sediment load originating on the Loess Plateau is likely responsible for the higher BSi flux, in agreement with a general trend of increasing BSi flux with increasing sediment flux in global river systems. This study demonstrates that BSi transported by rivers can be composed largely of phytoliths originating from the erosion of topsoils. 6MOF-Derived Ni1-xCox@Carbon with Tunable Nano-Microstructure as Lightweight and Highly Efficient Electromagnetic Wave Absorber显示文摘Intrinsic electric-magnetic property and special nano-micro architecture of functional materials have a significant effect on its electromagnetic wave energy conversion,especially in the microwave absorption(MA) field.Herein,porous Ni1-xCox@Carbon composites derived from metal-organic framework(MOF)were successfully synthesized via solvothermal reaction and subsequent annealing treatments.Benefiting from the coordination,carbonized bimetallic Ni-Co-MOF maintained its initial skeleton and transformed into magnetic-carbon composites with tunable nano-micro structure.During the thermal decomposition,generated magnetic particles/clusters acted as a catalyst to promote the carbon sp^2 arrangement,forming special core-shell architecture.Therefore,pure Ni@C microspheres displayed strong MA behaviors than other Ni1-xCox@Carbon composites.Surprisingly,magnetic-dielectric Ni@C composites possessed the strongest reflection loss value-59.5 dB and the effective absorption frequency covered as wide as 4.7 GHz.Meanwhile,the MA capacity also can be boosted by adjusting the absorber content from 25% to 40%.Magnetic-dielectric synergy effect of MOF-derived Ni1-xCox@Carbon microspheres was confirmed by the off-axis electron holography technology making a thorough inquiry in the MA mechanism.Lei Wang Mengqiu Huang Xuefeng Yu Wenbin You Jie Zhang Xianhu Liu Min Wang Renchao Che 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:7
7Hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus stimulation reduces intestinal injury in rats with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect and mechanism of stimulation of the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus with glutamate acid in rats with ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS: The rats were anesthetized with 10% chloral hydrate via abdominal injection and treated with an equal volume of TNBS + 50% ethanol enema, injected into the upper section of the anus with the tail facing up. Colonic damage scores were calculated after injecting a certain dose of glutamic acid into the paraventricular nucleus(p VN), and the effect of the nucleus tractus solitarius(NTS) and vagus nerve in alleviating UC injury through chemical stimulation of the p VN was observed in rats. Expression changes of C-myc, Apaf-1, caspase-3, interleukin(IL)-6, and IL-17 during the protection against UC injury through chemical stimulation of the p VN in rats were detected by Western blot. Malondialdehyde(MDA) content and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in colon tissues of rats were measured by colorimetric methods. RESULTS: Chemical stimulation of the PVN significantly reduced UC in rats in a dose-dependent manner. The protective effects of the chemical stimulationof the p VN on rats with UC were eliminated after chemical damage to the p VN. After glutamate receptor antagonist kynurenic acid was injected into the p VN, the protective effects of the chemical stimulation of the p VN were eliminated in rats with UC. After AVpVl receptor antagonist([Deamino-penl, val4, D-Arg8]-vasopressin) was injected into NTS or bilateral chemical damage to NTS, the protective effect of the chemical stimulation of p VN on UC was also eliminated. After chemical stimulation of the p VN, SOD activity increased, MDA content decreased, C-myc protein expression significantly increased, caspase-3 and Apaf-1 protein expression significantly decreased, and IL-6 and IL-17 expression decreased in colon tissues in rats with UC. CONCLUSION: Chemical stimulation of the hypothalamic p VN provides a protective effect against UC injury in rats. 8Microwave assisted atmospheric acid leaching of nickel from laterite ore显示文摘The recovery of nickel from laterite ore with sulphuric acid under the effect of microwave irradiation was studied.The experimental results indicated that the extraction rate of nickel was influenced by reaction time,sulphuric acid concentration,and temperature,especially by microwave power.The results obtained from the experiments of orthogonal arrays showed that the optimum conditions of sulphuric acid concentration,reaction time,microwave power,and temperature were 25 vol.%,1.5 h,600 W,and 90°C,respectively.Under the optimal conditions,the nickel recovery could reach approximately 90.8%,which was higher than that obtained by conventional water bath heating.Kinetic experiments showed that the leaching of nickel in a sulphuric acid medium was controlled by chemical reaction occurring on the surface of laterite ore.The apparent activation energy was 38.9 kJ/mol.Microwave heating technology is efficient,clean,and easy to control and facilitate continuous processing of materials.CHE Xiaokui SU Xiuzhu CHI Ru'an YU Junxia 2010Rare Metals2010,29,3:7
9A direct H2O2 production based on hollow porous carbon sphere-sulfur nanocrystal composites by confinement effect as oxygen reduction electrocatalysts显示文摘Carbon-sulfur composites have draw n in creasing interest in various fields including electrocatalysis because of their unique structures.However,carb on-sulfur composite with tiny sulfur nano crystals has still received little attention.Herein,hollow porous carb on sphere-sulfur composite(HPCS-S)which possesses excellent electrochemical performance towards H2O2 has been prepared for the first time via a simple silica template method.The 2-5 nm sulfur nan ocrystals being restricted in the cha nnel of the hollow porous carb on spheres are un der a strong compressive stress,which was further con firmed by high-resoluti on tran smissi on electr on microscopy(HRTEM)and GPA.The HPCS-S nano crystals show better con ductivity tha n amorphous sulfur clusters because of the reducti on of the steric hindrance which efficie ntly promotes the electron transportation.Consequently,the higher activity and selectivity towards the 2e^oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)to H2O2 in alkaline solution was obtained.The H2O2 selectivity rises from 20%to over 70%after the sulfur addition and the H2O2 production rate achieves 183.99 mmol-gcataiyst-1 with the Faradaic efficiency of 70%.Furthermore,performance enhancement mechanism was also investigated using the den sity functional theory(DFT)calculatio ns.After the in troduci ng of sulfur nano crystals,the appeara nee of S-S bond greatly decreases the overpotential compared with S-doping,which results in significant enhancement of the electrocatalytic property.Consequently,the HPCS-S can be an efficient H2O2 production electrocatalyst in alkaline solution.Guanyu Chen Jiwei Liu Qingqing Li Pengfei Guan Xuefeng Yu Linshen Xing Jie Zhang Renchao Che 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:6

11Kinase domain insert containing receptor promoter controlled suicide gene system selectively kills human umbilical vein endothelial cells显示文摘AIM: To study the selective killing of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) by a double suicide gene under the regulation of a kinase domain insert containing receptor (KDR) promoter and mediated by an adenoviral gene vector. METHODS: Human KDR promoter was cloned by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and two recombinant adenoviral plasmids pAdKDR-CdglyTK, pAdCMV-CDglyTK were constructed according to a two-step transformation protocol. These two newly constructed plasmids were then transfected into 293 packaging cells to grow adenovirus, which were further multiplied and purifi ed. HUVECs and LoVo cells were infected with either of the two resultant recombinant adenoviruses (AdKDR-CDglyTK and AdCMV-CDglyTK) respectively, and the infection rates were estimated by detection of green ? uorescent protein (GFP) expression. Infected cells were cultured in culture media containing different concentrations of 5-? uorocytosine (5-FC) and ganciclovir (GCV), and the killing effects were measured. RESULTS: The two recombinant adenoviral plasmids pAdKDR-CdglyTK, pAdCMV-CDglyTK were successfullyconstructed and transfected into 293 cells. The resultant recombinant adenoviruses infected cells caused similar infection rates; and the infected cells exhibited different sensitivity to the prodrugs: HUVECs infected with AdCMV-CDglyTK and LoVo cells infected with AdCMV-CDglyTK were highly sensitive to the prodrugs, and HUVECs infected with AdKDR-CDglyTK were similarly sensitive but signifi cantly more sensitive than the LoVo cells infected with AdKDR-CdglyTK (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Selective killing of HUVECs may be achieved by gene transfer of double suicide gene under the regulation of the KDR promoter. 13Microwave ablation of primary breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression in model mice via activation of natural killer cells显示文摘Surgery is essential for controlling the symptoms and complications of stage IV breast cancer.However,locoregional treatment of primary tumors often results in distant progression,including lung metastasis,the most common type of visceral metastasis.As a minimally invasive thermal therapy,microwave ablation(MWA)has been attempted in the treatment of breast cancer,but the innate immune response after MWA has not yet been reported.Using two murine models of stage IV breast cancer,we found that MWA of primary breast cancer inhibited the progression of lung metastasis and improved survival.NK cells were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and exhibited enhanced cytotoxic functions,and the cytotoxic pathways of NK cells were activated.Depletion experiments showed that NK cells but not CD4+or CD8+T cells played a pivotal role in prolonging survival.Then,we found that compared with surgery or control treatment,MWA of the primary tumor induced completely different NK-cell-related cytokine profiles.Macrophages were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and produced IL-15 that activated NK cells to inhibit the progression of metastasis.In addition,MWA of human breast cancer stimulated an autologous NK-cell response.These results demonstrate that MWA of the primary tumor in metastatic breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression via the macrophage/IL-15/NK-cell axis.MWA of the primary tumor may be a promising treatment strategy for de novo stage IV breast cancer,although further substantiation is essential for clinical testing.Muxin Yu Hong Pan Nan Che Li Li Cong Wang Yue Wang Ge Ma Mengjia Qian Jiawei Liu Mingjie Zheng Hui Xie Lijun Ling Yi Zhao Xiaoxiang Guan Qiang Ding Wenbin Zhou Shui Wang 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:5
14Contribution to the taxonomy of the genus Lycodon H.Boie in Fitzinger,1827(Reptilia:Squamata:Colubridae)in China,with description of two new species and resurrection and elevation of Dinodon septentrionale chapaense Angel,Bourret,1933显示文摘While considerable progress has been made in the taxonomic studies of the genus Lycodon in Asia,questions remain to be clarified regarding the taxonomy of certain groups,particularly those containing species in China.Not only do many regions in China remain overlooked by herpetologists,resulting in the possibility of undiscovered new species,but the surveyed areas also have suspicious records of recognized congeners that require taxonomic confirmations.Combining both morphological and genetic data,we tackle these outstanding issues in the taxonomy of Lycodon in China.In particular,we discover two new species of Lycodon:one from the previously neglected hot-dry valley in the northern Hengduan Mountain Region close to Tibet,and another recluse and cryptic species from the L.fasciatus complex in the downtown park of a major city in southern Sichuan Province.Additionally,we clarify the distribution of L.septentrionalis in China and resurrect and elevate its junior synonym subspecies,Dinodon septentrionale chapaense,as a full,valid species,and we synonymize the recently described L.namdongensis to the resurrected L.chapaensis comb.nov..Lycodon chapaensis comb.nov.thus represents a new national record of reptilian fauna of China.Lastly,based on literature review,we also correct some of the erroneous records of L.fasciatus and L.ruhstrati in China,point out remaining taxonomic issues of the genus for future research,and update the dichotomous key and distribution of the 20 species of Lycodon currently recorded from China.Kai Wang Zhong-Bin Yu Gernot Vogel Jing Che 2021Zoological Research2021,42,1:5
15Functional analysis of transcriptional regulation of herpes simplex virus type 1 tegument protein VP22显示文摘The herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) tegument proteins have important functions in the viral repli- cation process. In order to investigate the role of the HSV-1 tegument protein VP22 in viral replication, its transcriptional regulation of viral promoters was investigated using the chloramphenicol acetyl- transferase (CAT) assay. The results indicate that VP22 exerts a dose-dependent transcriptional in- hibitory effect on the HSV-1 α4, TK, and gC gene promoters. VP22 had the capacity to repress tran- scriptional activation of promoters via different viral transcription regulatory factors such as VP16 and ICP0, as evidenced by the specific repression of the TK and gC gene promoters by ICP0. In addition, VP22 was capable of inhibiting the promotion of ICP0 transcriptional activation in the presence of HAT PCAF, which is even more remarkable than the VP22 repression of ICP0 transcriptional activation. The basic physicochemical properties including ionic conductivity, viscosity,wettability and thermochemical stability of the electrolytes using Na PF6 as the solute and the mixed solvent with different components of EMC,DMC or DEC in PC or EC were systematically measured. Ah pouch cell with NaNi_(1/3)Fe_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2)/hard carbon electrodes was used to evaluate the performance of the prepared electrolytes. By using the Inductive Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer(ICP), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), Thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry(TG-DSC) and Accelerating Rate Calorimeter(ARC), we show that an optimized electrolyte can effectively promote the formation of a protective interfacial layer on two electrodes, which not only retards parasitic reactions between the electrodes and electrolyte but also suppresses dissolution of metal ions from the cathode. With an optimized electrolyte, a NaNi_(1/3)Fe_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2)/hard carbon cell can attain 56.16% capacity retention under the low temperature of -40℃, and can be able to retain 80%capacity retention after more than 2500 cycles while presenting excellent thermal safety.Haiying Che Xinrong Yang Yan Yu Chaoliang Pan Hong Wang Yonghong Deng Linsen Li Zi-Feng Ma 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,2:4
